We never felt up- sold here and the veterinarians were always conservative when it came to treatment plans. Not once did we ever feel rushed during a pet exam and no question was a dumb question. If one of our pets was sick, we were always seen the same day. I do believe they really try their hardest to squeeze you in for an appointment even on their busiest days. Having a sick pet is stressful, and rest assured staff know this. If I had a question or concern that didn't warrant and immediate response or a physical visit I would send an email. Within 24 hours or so I would always get an email reply or a phone call with an answer. Yes, really. They also make it a priority to call you after a pet visit. I can't imagine how busy the Dr.'s must be, yet they still manage to do this. Frey Pet Hospital is a beautiful facility, clean, has ample parking, large waiting areas for both cat and dog families and offers convenient hours. Be open to seeing more than one veterinarian, as you may not always have the opportunity to see the same Dr. All of our family members use Frey for their pet care needs (and there have been some major ones!). Suffice to say, Frey will be our first choice for veterinarian care when we decide to rescue again. Adopt don't shop!

There's a large waiting area so always room to go to a separate area if need be. Dr. Murphy is FABULOUS! I went with a problem for my dog, and she gave me multiple options. She did not push anything the practice offered. I was able to go home and do some research before I made a decision with which route I wanted to go and she was completely understanding of that and even told me if I had questions with what I found or any other ideas to shoot her an email and she'd be happy to let me know her opinion or an alternative! Each time I've seen her, she always takes time to answer questions, does not make me feel rushed or like I'm asking pointless questions. The vet techs are great too. A Dane Heeler his name is Stormy but I call him Smalls he was found under a bridge downtown. I thank God for him everyday. He came just in time my service dog Wishbone was almost done done. Within 2 weeks Wishbone was gone and Stormy had to step up for duty before training even started. Smalls hit a home run! His hart is bigger than he's ever gunna get. Safe, sound, and resting peacefully (Pictured below in her favourite spot). Note: We were able to snag someone's cancellation by calling on Monday. Otherwise, it appears appointments are a month + out as of 3/2022. Intake was amazing as staff met everyone coming in that day at the door and assisted with initial paperwork. Our kitty was just past her follow-up shot regimen for rabies and distemper, which the clinic provided at a minimal cost. Overall, our bill was just over 90$ which included nail trimming/capping (10$), shots, spaying, pain medication, overnight stay, as well as a microchipping fee (25$). This is far, far less then the range of prices we were quoted at other local animal veterinarian/hospitals. (Anywhere from 250$ to 1050$, just to *spay* alone.) Although a bit of a drive for those living in Hiawatha/Marion/North CR, the cost and level of care make it worth your time. If you choose to utilize IHA for your pet healthcare needs, please be sure to add a little extra when you pay to help keep this local non-profit going.

My lab Samantha has had two cancer surgeries performed by Dr. Hickey and she is still here at 13 and doing quite well. I also want to say that the techs and the front desk people are fantastic.
