Not because I missed the appointment, but because I wasn't 30 minutes early. I had cleared my schedule, sat in traffic for 45 minutes, and still arrived before the scheduled time--and they refused to see me. Their explanation? A strict policy requiring all patients to arrive 30 minutes early, enforced without an ounce of flexibility or compassion. Meanwhile, how many of us have waited 30+ minutes past our appointment time for a doctor with no apology? The double standard is exhausting. I've had other uncomfortable experiences here over the years--impersonal front desk staff, rushed interactions--but the moment I was told I had Hashimoto's disease with no support or follow-up stands out. Just a flat "eat better" and that was that. The only reason I stayed was because of one provider, Pam Manuel-Barone, who brought warmth and real patient care to the office. She's since left--and now I understand why. I don't expect perfection from a doctor's office. But I do expect humanity. This practice has forgotten what patient care is supposed to mean.
