My one complaint is that the events are so popular that you have to watch the website and sign up immediately when something comes up that you are interested in. There is a food box outside the library. Inside, snacks are always available for the young ones. I use the website to request books that aren't available in house and the process is smooth. The checkout and book return is up-to-date and easy to use. The library staff is helpful and friendly. I love the large magazine section. A lot of libraries I have been to in the past have stopped having magazines available. I'm old school and love to hold and read a magazine. There is ample comfortable seating.

Well organized, attentive, informed staff, great selections, and quick, easy access to just about any materials available near or far. Great programs for seniors, children, and anyone in-between. Added bonus? It's just across the tracks (!!) from the Farmer's Market, so come early on a Saturday mornings during the summer/early fall, take in the best of Springfield's local flavors (including an amazing coffee from Un Mundo Cafe at the Heritage Center!!) then head over to the library and lose yourself in "the stacks!!"

As someone new to sublimation, I expected at least some guidance. Instead, the manager (Doug) was not helpful when I asked how to properly size my design in Canva. I received vague, textbook-style answers, which led to nearly 40 minutes of frustrating trial and error. The biggest issue happened near the end of our session. We were told mug pressing had to be done by 5:45 PM. At 5:40, we had one mug left that was fully prepped and only needed a few minutes to finish. Despite clearly being able to complete everything on time, I was told I would need to reschedule a full two-hour session just to finish that last mug. When I calmly asked for clarification, the manager became dismissive and raised his voice, saying it was my fault and that I "didn't listen." This was said in front of others, including my 4-year-old daughter, and felt very belittling. He eventually said he would "make an exception," but only after speaking to me in an unprofessional manner. We did finish everything by 5:45 exactly, which made the situation even more frustrating. This is also the second negative interaction I've had with this same manager. The Spark Place has great potential and valuable resources, but the environment should be supportive and welcoming--especially for beginners. Unfortunately, this experience left a very bad impression.

It is a refuge for students who are studying and researching. Meeting rooms and lecture area areas abound. Plenty of space for working on projects, and electronic resources are readily available. If you're in an alumnus, and have not been inside the library in recent years please take a look when you have a time. The improvements to the facility are incredible. It is a world class resource for the university and the students learning here.

Woodbourne Library is one of two branches of the Washington-Centervile Library system, with the…read moreother being the Centerville Library located just 3 miles south from this location. As of this review, it's open from 10am-9pm during the week, 10am-5pm on Saturdays and 1pm-5pm on Sundays. All Dayton Metro Library branches are closed on Sundays, so this is a nice option to have in the area. The most recent renovation and expansion to this facility occurred in 2018, and it remains clean and well-maintained. Reservable spaces include three 'quiet' rooms for up to 4 people, two meeting rooms for 4-6 people, a creative space for up to 20 people, and a large community room for up to 80 people. Of note, the three quiet rooms have a single, small round table, which makes it difficult for more than 2 people to use at the same time. The meeting rooms are located in the middle of the library and lack windows to the outside. Other spaces include a few scattered smaller tables in the front of the library and one 4 person table in the far back corner which is usually highly sought after as it is isolated from the other areas and provides some privacy. In addition, there are four 4-person tables in the middle with outlets, and three 2-person tables adjacent to these, although without outlet access. In another area, they have some other 2-person tables with dividers in the middle thus making them individual spots. There are lots of reading chairs spread throughout. Although this may sound like a lot, the tables (particularly the 4-person ones) fill up rather quickly, so I've always thought they could use a few more. I've also noticed that this library is rather busy most of the time, especially compared to some of the others in the area.

I currently telecommute for work but working at home can be a little isolating. So I go to the library to work in a quiet environment that allows me to focus yet is open and bright(lots of windows). The furniture is comfortable, there is free WiFi, the librarians are pleasant and helpful, and as a town resident I can reserve a meeting room for times that I need to talk on the phone with my co-workers. I know that this is not the traditional use of the library but since we pay taxes to support it, as long as I don't disturb anyone else in the process, I feel perfectly good about it. I wrote my dissertation in a public library years ago and came to appreciate them not only for this sort of thing but as a continuing center of the community. They are a hive of activity that we should maintain. And for me, when I take breaks from work, I enjoy the magazines and books available to me. Support your local library!

The main branch library in downtown Springfield is amazing, a true oasis in a semi-dying city, but this branch is SO convenient, especially when you're running errands and need to either pick up or return some books or movies. Nice kids section, and LARGE music and books-on-tape selections as well-- Can't go wrong!! I like the easy-going 1 day "grace period" for overdue stuff. Bathroom's kinda stinky, unfortunately, but otherwise clean, comfy, and cozy place to be...
