While the previous staff showed care and compassion, everything changed under the new director. What's most troubling is that the director claimed to have experience working with children with disabilities, yet she refused to make any effort to communicate with my nonverbal child. No visual cues, no gestures, no attempts at understanding, just avoidance and blame! Instead of support, I was repeatedly asked to leave work shortly after drop-off, because the staff couldn't "manage" her behavior, behavior that is common for children on the spectrum. My child was even referred to as "wild," which is dehumanizing and unacceptable. They also made it clear that they wouldn't allow her to attend without a one-on-one aide, which they provided no assistance in arranging. Meanwhile, when my child was bitten or pushed by other children, I was rarely informed, but if she had any issue, it was escalated immediately, making it clear she was being singled out and unfairly targeted. This is not a safe or inclusive space for neurodivergent children. If your child has a disability, especially if they're nonverbal or any child period. Please seek a center that not only says they support inclusion but actually practices it.

Since he has been attending, two coats have been stolen, most recently his winter coat within the last two weeks. When the first incident occurred I mentioned it to the staff and decided to let it go, purchasing a new coat instead. Recently, my nephew was picked up by his father, who inquired about the location of his winter coat, to which the staff had no knowledge. My three-year-old nephew stated that another child took it, and the staff confirmed that my nephew had informed them that another kid who was leaving had his jacket, but they ignored it. I immediately requested that the staff contact the parent to retrieve the new winter coat, as my nephew had to leave the facility wrapped in a blanket. The facility has stated that the parent has not returned the child since and that the child left the jacket at a different school. This situation is unacceptable, and I am left with no choice but to file a police report. Why should I be required to continue purchasing new coats, labeling them with his name, only to have someone else take them if they like them, which is ridiculous!

They note down what the students work on each day and keep track on their progress throughout the year. My daughter is now reading at between 2nd and 3rd grade level while doing double digit additions/subtractions, and have started learning multiplication at 5 years old. Her maturity level has also blossomed since they have multiple ages in a classroom, I have observed her helping the younger students. They are short staffed constantly putting care into constant question and they have to rotate students who can't come to school that day because they don't pay their staff enough at all to stay. Teachers leave all the time. New ones come in, then leave shortly after. They're good with the kids, but for the astronomical cost that they keep raising, Cadence should come with peace of mind at least that you'll be able to get to work and know your children are being cared for by happy teachers who aren't overworked and underpaid, and constantly rotated so there is no bond formed. The gaslighting by the director on how this "isn't that bad" is obnoxious and insulting. On top of all this, they'll keep accepting new students and taking your money although they can't even handle the enrollment they have. It's all about money here. Interesting note: another Cadence location in the area had a teacher walkout because of pay and lack of training, so this is a pattern in this company. They're based in AZ and aren't local. And no matter what Cadence tells you, this is NOT NORMAL. There are a multitude of preschools in the area who do not put parents through this circus. I would highly advise you look elsewhere. This school is not at all worth the hassle. I've included photos of just a fraction of the "short staff" emails we recieved and that they're limiting classes that day or a warning that you may not be able to count on them for the day. If you have a very flexible schedule with work and don't need to follow any sort of structure in your personal life, this is the place for you. And to the teachers who do stay longer than a few weeks: you're saints and you should be paid a living wage.

I can honestly say this school has been one of the biggest blessings for our family. The progress my daughter has made in reading, writing, confidence, and communication has been incredible. What stands out the most to me is how much the school truly focuses not only on the children, but also on the families. Even though there are several students in each classroom, the organization, education, and individual attention given to every child is phenomenal. The teachers and staff genuinely listen to the needs of each student and family, and that level of care is something very special and rare to find. As a mother who previously had a very negative experience with another school with my older child, finding Discovery completely changed my perspective and restored my trust in what a school community should feel like. Unfortunately, when I moved to this area, my older son was already too old to attend this school, and I truly wish he could have experienced the same environment my daughter has had here. One of the things I appreciate most is how they work hard to keep children active and involved, especially for families who may not have the resources for expensive extracurricular activities. The after-school activities, family events, flag football, choir practice, singing activities, and the way they bring families together create such a beautiful sense of community. She was also using her imagination/creativity more often. I believe Chavitos and the amazing teachers there, set her up for success. I now have a strong willed, adventure seeking, and social butterfly 4 year old. They were also very timely with communication and kept you well informed about your child or happenings. If it weren't for finance/ schedule changes- she would still be enrolled. I also appreciate that they helped so much with finding the right layers for the winter days outside. My daughter had the gear to get her through 3 hours outside because of their extensive list of how to properly dress for the elements.

The person leading that session mentioned if you contact a couple times to check-in for status, your wait time might drop as spots open up. Initially, I was informed we had a 2 yr wait, and then we were admitted after 12 months (I emailed twice - once in February and once in May). Part of the wait is if you have a specific location. I think emailing to check helped clarify what locations were acceptable for us. Communications were good, particularly in the younger class, which had more notes. I felt like I could talk to my daughter's teachers and the director if I had any questions. My kiddo loved NTMC. She had a couple teachers in her toddler class, and a couple teachers in the large preschool class (3-4 teachers at any given time). Teachers cared about all the kids and they had fun. The director of the location switched 3-4 times and my kids teachers changed a few times. It is run as a business, but I'm ok with that. I have heard of other peoples experiences that are not similar to ours - like not having class staffing for a few weeks, or that it's not Montessori enough. I just never personally experienced those things. My kid loved teachers Makhayla, Rhonda, Kristin, Gaby, and Yenny. She told me yesterday she missed Teacher Rhonda! I thought it was reasonably secure and the schedule was age appropriate. Potty training was easy with help from NTMC. We switched to another preschool to have more structured education and try to get into a school so we wouldn't have to apply at K.
