We have boarded the XCel for a week long Caribbean cruise in the Retreat. It is nice that there are some brand new spaces on this ship, including the bazaar as well as a flagship shop that has all logoed merchandise for Celebrity. There are even secret areas like IYKYK that we will visited and while no photos or videos are allowed, it became one of our favorite spots on the ship. They have refreshed the color scheme and areas such as al Bacio and the Martini bar, as well as added some restaurant spaces like Bora Bora, mosaic and craft social We have really enjoyed the new Bazaar venue, which is a redo of Eden as it has sea day programming that's unique to where you are sailing and was a lot of fun. This included light bites, crafts, music, and dance of a particular area of the Caribbean. As we had 3C days there were three different festivals celebrated during this time. We found it a pretty unique take on destination immersion. Celebrity has a strong reputation for quality food and entertainment and we were not disappointed. The main theater shows were quality productions as well as excellent headliner singers and comedians. We had a singer, Nathan James, who has performed with MANY famous bands, including Trans Siberian Orchestra- very talented ! Just got off a 5 day cruise on the Summit. Even though we've cruised many times, this was our first time on Celebrity, and we wanted to compare it to another cruise line we enjoy (Oceania). We were very pleased, even on a ship that is older and dated. Things that stood out to us: The entertainment was excellent. Good shows, good performers. The food - because we were in Aqua Class, we had access to their Blu dining room. The food was good to very good, and the service was EXCELLENT. The head waiter, Anthony, was so attentive and helpful. And - we actually enjoyed the buffet (I usually hate cruise buffets). The food was decent and the variety was really good. (Blu tip: if you don't like what's on their menu, they can get you options from the main dining room) Chef's table - very poor. The table was in the Tuscana dining room (noisy), the food was no better than elsewhere on the ship, and the cost was high - plus wine was extra. Save your money on this. The spa area/Persian Garden - this was a weak spot for this ship. Honestly, not worth it at all.... Small sized, with a steam room that was too hot, and a dry sauna that wasn't hot enough. And the salt room was barely big enough for two people, with steam so hot you had to elevate your feet. The gym - was acceptable, though the instructor seemed unhappy, like he had better places to be. We don't drink - so can't comment on the alcohol, quality or price. On-board activities - I'd summarize it midway between Carnival (a wild party) and Oceania (well suited for seniors - sedate and shuts down early). Overall, we enjoyed. I've sailed 12 days each on the Edge and the Constellation. I've also done cruises with Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Cunard, and Holland America. Celebrity is the best overall cruise line I've experienced. Compared with the most mass-market cruise lines, Celebrity provides better food and better service. I've experienced that myself and I've heard it from others as well. There is a distinctly grown-up vibe on these ships. They aren't specifically family-UNfriendly in any way, but if you're looking for water parks and kids games you might need to look elsewhere. But even though the guests are predominantly mature, that doesn't mean it's a stuffy experience. These ships have high-energy entertainment on their main stage and in other venues on board, and the slate of activities is very upbeat. The shore excursion staff is extremely knowlegable. I find that they are generally more interested in being helpful about the ports of call than they are about being pushy salespeople. The newer Edge-class ships are the ones with the distinctive moving platforms on the sides of the ship. They are really cool, modern, aesthetically pleasing ships. They are also, in my opinion, the ideal size for a cruise ship in that they feel like large, bustling floating cities but they aren't so overpopulated that it's hard to get seats in venues or restaurants. They made a controversial design decision regarding balcony staterooms which I personally don't like, which they refer to as "infinite veranda". Instead of an outdoor balcony separated from the stateroom by a sealed glass door, this veranda section is like an extension of the room with a large window. Opening and closing that window is a hassle, and opening it doesn't have quite the same feeling as having an outdoor balcony. Some like it, though. I just want to reiterate that the service and food on Celebrity is, in my opinion, outstanding. I like going on cruises and Celebrity is definitely my prefered cruise line. read more

This would be at least our 4th cruise on Celebrity. We most recently vacationed on the Celebrity Beyond. The ship is very nice as was our room. It also has a very nice pool for a cruise ship. That being said our room outlets worked sometimes and not others, leaving me without the ability to use my flat iron multiple times. Our room steward was lacking, leaving dirty glasses in the room, when asked about the outlet he said that maintenance was responsible for that, when I asked about a charge for the mini bar that was not ours, he said that he doesn't have anything to do with the minibar (we ended up having to go to customer relations to get it removed from our bill a couple days later), when I asked for ice the first 2 nights we never received it (we finally quit asking). Now as to the nickle and diming, they have that down without issue. We have never paidfor the all inclusive package as it adds about$2000+ to your cruise price. The internet was about $200 after the pre-cruise discount. We also pre-paid our gratuities another few hundred dollars which is how most cruise lines work. Then we get on the cruise, bud light is $10 plus $2 for the automatic 20%that is added to all beverages. A coke is $4.75 + 20%. Then if you want an IPA beer it's $13 to $16 + 20%. The drink prices are far beyond reasonable. That being said our drink bill was $800. Had we purchased the drink package alone it would have been $1680.00. I am also a captain club member and this was the first cruise I have taken without any recognition of our level, also a disappointment. Our last cruise was on Virgin Voyages, our next cruise will also be on Virgin. The only thing that is not included are the drinks but they have a bar tab you can purchase beforehand and you get a credit for more than what you paid. I've gone with Celebrity to through the Panama Canal to South America, a few Mediterranean cruises, the Baltic to St Petersburg, and repositioning to Japan. I've always found the Galaxy, Constellation, Infinity and Millineum to be pristine, immaculate and overall top notch. The staff is well trained and versed, there is never a wait and they can't do enough for us. Meals are varied, upscale and always delicious. There is so much going on that I never have a chance to open a book. Wifi is reasonably priced and always works, laundry is quick and well done, and the drink package includes gratuities. Dr. Sherry shares information, maps and history prior to disembarking at each port. Bridge tours, kitchen tours, gym classes, trivia, cooking classes, entertainers, musicians, games ... the biggest problem was choosing what to do, there was always so much going on. Yolanda Sheppard was our local connection to Celebrity. She made sure we had all upgrades imaginable, helped us plan our excursions as was a phenomenal resource prior to embarking. read more

We have cruise five to 9 times a year and tried many different cruise lines until we discovered Celebrity and we quit using ALL the other cruise lines after trying Celebrity. They are near luxury which is fine with us because we don't want to overpay but still want a relaxing quiet time with an upscale feel. Now the reason why is they cater to non-children demographic ages. We want to relax on a vacation and on many other lines the parents turn the kids loose and run amok. As there are few children and the ones they do have are well mannered usually. The best part is smoking is really limited and the Casino is NON-SMOKING which is awesome to not have sea breezes and views ruined by smoke wafting past you from 100 feet away. We have 4 more Celebrity Cruises booked and looking forward to Norway next. Celebrity is simply the best experience we have found for the value if you want quiet and limited smoke permeating your relaxation. read more

OK, here is it. If you're planning to go on a cruise line, I highly suggest celebrity cruises. From the moment you step on board your journey has begun. Already looks pretty good. Boarding was easy they asked you what time you want your luggage in your room. Because we were on the concierge package there was a welcome lunch for all "those members." You got a nice glass of wine and whatever you wanted to order off the menu. I'm pretty sure you'll have a great time.! Enjoy yourself They were very attentive and that my friends continued throughout our entire trip. The room was large. It had plenty of storage. The balcony is phenomenal. The bathroom is big enough even my husband & I could be in there at the same time. I wish I could remember the names of all our staff. Let's start with our. Our steward: he was phenomenal. You needed anything. Ask him it was there when you walked back in. But the most impressive thing is he could notice from a distance! Even fro your back or from down the hall and call you by name! Always addressed us by name! Asked about how our day was going, etc. No matter what part of the ship we were on when he saw us, he came over said "Dan and Laura".... almost every single staff member was the same. I will suggest you eat at the early dinner. If you plan to eat in the 1 restaurant the entire time, they will assign you a table that you get to pick it out. That table is yours every single night. That means we have the same waiters. ETC ...... it really made our dining experience wonderful! It was filled with laughs people w/ folks waiting on your right and left. The ship is very nice and has lots of things to do. Beautiful pool areas, has a very cool place I think on the ninth deck where it's almost totally secluded! Soft music going and a really comfortable chair so if you needed a break, you could just go there relax! People watch, read a book! No matter what you did it was lovely. it's not really fair for me to rate the food because I am gluten-free. But the crew that I went with love they all loved the food. So I will give you that.! Concierge class is very nice. You get a lot more. How should I say this, let's go with services. So I do suggest paying a little extra and getting that pampering . The shows were good, the art auction is great, can't say too much about how good the casino is because, well you know what happens.. but it was definitely a smoke free environment, which was very nice. My fiancé, and our girlfriend took a romantic swingers cruise together. The cruise ship was owned and operated by Celebrity but the entire ship was privately chartered to Bliss Cruises as an adults only, clothing optional, swingers cruise. It was a magical experience. I can't go into too much detail here as it was a sexually oriented cruise and these reviews need to be PG rated. Needless to say, it was an incredible experience we won't soon forget. I took most of the photos at night when everyone was asleep as taking photos of the people in compromising positions was expressly forbidden. During the day the pool area was full of naked people having a great time. There were theme nights, a glow party and all sorts of adult fun. It was a swingers hotel takeover on the high seas. We booked through Topless Travel and it was worth every cent. The ship itself was beautiful and well maintained. The staff was extremely pleasant and highly professional. Even with the adult activities going on around them. The food was absolutely fantastic. I'm sure I put on five pounds during the cruise. All we did was "play" and eat for five days. We stopped in the Cayman Islands and Jamaica and had a blast exploring both. We rode horses, snorkeled and shopped. It was pure romance for the three of us. As a threesome, this cruise made us even closer and we shared some wonderful adult experiences with many different people. We slept for 20 hours when we made it back to Denver. read more

I was a bit disappointed after hearing about Celebrity cruise line. Recently did a 7 day Bahamas trip and was very disappointed with the trip. The biggest bright spot was Matt Johnson the Magician he was awesome and without that the cruise would have been a disaster. I was disappointed with the dinners, the steaks were not cooked liked I asked and basically were just one step away from jerky. The lobster was a very small tail I have seen shrimp that are bigger. I'm not a picky eater but from all the reviews and the word about Celebrity I was pretty excited about the trip and felt let down. The ship was nice, clean but I didn't feel like it was like I had heard about this great cruise ship of the sea. The crew was very very nice and helpful and we even had a few that we became friends with and talked to daily which was really nice. It was just I guess a bit of a let down from everything we were hearing about the ship and we were really excited about it that we decided to spend the extra money for the "experience " which I feel we really didn't have as the same people who told us about. I'll start from the beginning. My wife and I booked an Eastern Caribbean Anniversay cruise on the Celebrity Beyond, departing Miami Oct. 26, 2025. At 4:30 PM, 10/25/2025, we received an email that due to Hurricane Melissa, our itinerary, with a 4:00PM Sunday departure, had changed. Melissa had been in the Puerto Playa, Dominican Republic, our first stop, for several days, so a change, with our safety in mind (which I admire) had been put in effect. The change, was from the Eastern Caribbean to FRICKIN' MEXICO!!!!! We'd been there, didn't like it there, and if we had wanted to go there, we would have booked there. I previously neglected to say that our flight from S. Carolina to Fla was at 0500 Sunday, meaning we had to be at our airport at 0300, meaning that we had to wake up at 0100, so a 4:30 PM notice the day before gave us little time to make changes. Now, Melissa had been active for several weeks and camped around the DR for several days, that plus the fact that you can't just steer a 1000' ship into a Harbor looking for a parking spot as if you were in Walmart, leads me to believe that the powers to be at CCL's had a contingency plan in place well before 1630 Saturday, that would have given us ample opportunity to cancel our flights and ask CCL for 2 vouchers to the Eastern Caribbean in the future, which we would have done. But that opportunity was not made available. So, here we are sailing towards Mexico. We had 3 nice excursions, a zipline in DR, a cable car/gondola sightseeing trip in St. Thomas, and a Rail tour in St.Kitts All of these were refunded (yay) but when we went to re - book, we were too old (we're 72, age limit was 70), to zipline and the age limits of 60 & 65 applied to atv's, sude by sides, and tube/float trips. We WERE allowed to pay someone to take us to a beach for a picnic, though. WE LIVE LESS THAN 1 MILE FROM THE BEACH AND CAN GO FOR FREE. Of course these restrictions, not in effect in the Eastern Caribbean, were set by the vendors with "our safety being their main concern" according to the excursions agent on board. Now the killer, I asked the vendors on shore, that were loading passengers fromour ship, why, and they said "what restrictions? " and offered to take us. So now, not only were we where we didn't want to be, there were no excursions to enjoy and although the 3 ports were nice, if it took more than 30 minutes to go through any of them, it was because you took a bathroom (few and far between) break. As far as the ship, it was adequate, nothing to brag about, no water slides, but it did have a "Flying Carpet" which made transferring back and forth to the tender nice. The quiet deck loungexareas were not to be found. We did find one though where we met a young couple that we took turns withreturning the pickleball from the court that was right in the middle of the seating areas. No basjetball or volleyball courts onbiard either.The theatrical performers were very disappointing, daytime activities were virtually nonexistent, supposedly they had a house band (which we never saw poolside), passenger participation activities were very limited in the amount of passengers that could be involved, minors took over the outdoor pool and the indoor "adult" pool was just that, indoors. Main events, including the Halloween party, which we looked forward to being that it was our anniversary, didn't start until 10:30, with nothing in between the end of the stage show and the evening's entertainment The food was not very innovative and very ethnic. The worst part was going to the buffet at 0600 for coffee and seeing eggs etc already out and upon asking a "striped" crew member if breakfast opened early, he said "no, the usual 0700". So, eggs, bacon, sausage etc was sitting out, albeit covered, for over an hour before it was available to eat. I made several attempts at customer service etc to work out something with vouchers, even absorbing the flight ticket cost, but was told many stories. "Someone will reach out to you" on the polite side to "we dont make any concessions for port changes. Thats in the (very) fine print" and offered course "our passenger safety is our main concern " We appreciate and applaud CCL was being so diligent and thoughtful for our safety, however, they show little compassion for our satifaction. As far as we're concerned, we spent several thousands of dollars and wasted 7 days on a trip that we did not contract or enjoy I'm posting this on every social site that I can find and I'm hoping that ANYONE else who was on the Eastern Caribbean scheduled cruise, departing Miami, Oct. 26, 2025 and is also disappointed to please share their experience and (dis) pleasure read more

Just came back from my first Celebrity Cruise on the Silhouette - I think I've converted my friend who has never cruised before! We did a short 4 day to Key West and Nassau and it was a perfect first cruise - excellent service, nice modern veranda room, spacious shower, lots of entertainment and for those into luxury goods like my friend, they sell Rolexes, designer bags and Cartier jewelry - all tax and VAT free bc they are pre-owned. I've been on a lot of cruises across various cruise lines and I would say main dining was better than Royal Caribbean but about comparable to NCL or Princess. Buffet was a bit less selection than Royal or Princess. There's still the solarium for adults only which is a nice peaceful pool and jacuzzi area to read and nap. All in all had a wonderful time :) read more

I have sailed with Celebrity three times, soon to be four. The cruise line is owned by Royal Caribbean. It is similar to them.in some ways but is an elevated experience. The food is pretty good overall, even in the main dining room. They always have several specialty restaurants to choose from for an extra fee. The entertainment can be hit or miss. I notice their casinos are very nice although I do not gamble much. Crewmembers are always top notch. They are ready to assist any time. They are friendly. Always lots of bars to choose from to have a variety of drinks. I have to say it does depend on which ship you sail. Of course, the newer ships provide a nicer experience with more amenities. These ships are gigantic, especially the Celebrity Beyond. The older ships are smaller, which is good for some people. I recommend Celebrity Cruises for their consistent pleasant experience. read more

My wife and I are avid cruisers, having started decades ago on Carnival, 25+ trips, additionally two trips on MS Boheme, around 1972-73 (Now not in service) another no longer in service, 1973; one Royal Caribbean which returned to port days before 9/11 - then moved up to Royal Caribbean's brand, "Celebrity Cruise Lines" about 10+ years ago, have made about a dozen 7 day or longer trips, with another on 11/2/2023 plus two more booked in 2024 so far. The suite accommodations are fine but a wee bit pinched in overall size. The wonderful balconies make the voyage most memorable. Bathrooms provide ultra modern touches - the nicest shampoos, conditioners and so on, spotlessly maintained by very diligent cabin crews several times a day. Shower size is ample and easy to enter and exit - not always the case on some cruise ships. Casual buffet service on the Lido decks is always fabulous. Vast array of choices in many international food options...delicious bakery preparations on view at all times. Main dining rooms are elegant - service staff have never disappointed. Menu choices are always very appealing, somethings on the menu for every palate. Unfortunately the dining room maitre d' still turns a blind eye to uninformed (boorish) guests who come to dinner in shorts. The daily ship's newsletter describes attire that is correct and acceptable, yet some guests ignore this proper courtesy to others by wearing shorts, flip flops and so on. Restaurant managers should enforce a little decorum please. Purser services are always very attentive to cruisers' needs. Entertainment can vary from very enjoyable and memorable to some less endearing but always a fun way to spend time after (or before) dining. Excursions once at port are handled in advance on line, sometimes with savings, or can be attended to at the excursions desk on the ship. There are libraries on all the ships. All the ships have hours scheduled for a future cruise desk, to assist in planning another trip, ofter with good reduced charges and/or extras like cabin credit to use for specialty restaurants, photos, drinks, casino. All very well thought-out. There is an internet cafe on the ships; internet service can be quite speedy but is also quite costly. A tip here: write your emails in your cabin or balcony for example, then in the next port, you will find numerous gift shops with internet "hot spots" and you can easily send off the retained emails and so on. Maybe even complete some FaceTime calls while in port free of charge. All in all - highly recommended for a great experience, great value for the money. Our honeymoon was here, I think the actually name was Celebrity X Cruise (?). Anyways, we were here for a week and we enjoyed it very much. I felt like it was a little cramped and I say that because of the amount of people. We had no interest in the pools which was good because it was always packed. The food was delicious, didn't matter if it was in a buffet, restaurant, bar, or room service. I tried them all and it was delicious . We had three stops (Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Bimini). Everything went smooth getting off the ship, in the locations, and getting back on the ship. We never got lost or had to worry about anything going wrong while we were in the excursions. We felt like we were in good hands. They have a casino on board but it gets shut down once the ship docks on Grand Cayman (gambling is illegal there so it's an agreement that they have in order to dock there). Grand cayman is nice. We had booked a tour with a guy named Leo, he was very knowledgeable and entertaining, we went to see the caves (very nice). We went to see dolphins in Cozumel. It was a beautiful experience, I recommend that too. Bimini was tiny but lovely. The waters were crystal clear. I called it paradise. The umbrellas are expensive as heck, they try to rip you off so go find shade somewhere (it was like $60 if I remember correctly). Anyways the cruise was great. The activities were fun. We did a trivia one night... we won (bragging rights only lol). We went to an adult game show and that was phenomenal. Sooo funny and fun! I highly recommend it. The waiter that took care of of us on board was fabulous. The gentleman that took care of our cabin was exceptional. They are very big on customer service because they remembered our name before even talking to us. He was very kind and professional. The cabin was pretty. It didn't have a window but let me tell you that we felt great. I thought I'd feel like I was in a closet but that was not the case. It was fantastic. Book your trip with them. We were on the Celebrity Infinity where supposedly there was an engine fire. I say that because there was zero transparency from the Captain. We received most our information from Google. We ended up staying in Turkey from Monday until Friday. We missed 3 Greek Islands. This was supposed to be to be a joyous 22 Wedding Anniversary cruise. It ended up being a horror. From the initial electric outage on Monday that lasted approximately 3 hours where we had no lights, no air conditioning, and no running water(including the toilets). As this occurred we were given very little information. Each day the Captain got on the loudspeaker to inform us that his men were doing their best to get the ship in cruising condition, only to be informed 12 hours later that the work had to continue. On Thursday morning the Captain informed us that tests were being done to confirm that all was good. How did the test go? We weren't informed about the results until 24 hours later! This was stressful as we wondered if we would get back to Athens to our flight home. While this was going on there were trucks right below our room removing the ships waste. The horrible smell entered our room even though we kept the balcony door closed. It go so bad that my wife vomited up her dinner one night. I called guest services who sent somebody to the room but he was clueless as to the origin of the stench. We spent more money on the airline flight than the cost of the cruise. We didn't have to fly to a warm climate as we have a warm summer in New Jersey. We wanted to see the Greek Islands for a once in a lifetime trip. We were given a 50% refund and a 50% credit towards another cruise. I want a full refund! Who are they to tell me to cruise with them again? Not acceptable. read more

There is a back story of how we became last minute Celebrity Cruisers! Initial the dude and I had plans to go to Bahamas via Carnival Cruise Lines but due to Hurricane Nicole our flight was cancelled and no flights were available at all so we missed our cruise. I called Celebrity Cruise Line distraught and the customer service person who helped me was stellar and made sure I had every deal possible. Unfortunately due to it being a last minute sailing I was not able to get any onboard cruise credit but was able to get a birthday discount. The cruise package I selected was all inclusive and a good deal and cheaper initially for my dream vacation. So kinda a short notice win. 7 day Mexican Rivera cruise that had a fantastic itenuary traveling to 3 ports such as Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada with a few sea days in between. It was so lovely. Upon arrival we found parking easily and headed for our vacation. Staff greeted us and checked us in with no problems and had our luggage taken for us and would be delivered to our room. Since I had the drink package I wanted to start drinking already ! We headed to where the bars were and got drinks but there was an issue with my card so they charged us but I needed to go to guest services to fix it which they did and refunded the money. We even got a room upgrade for an additional charge as well for a balcony with some negotiation as I was not happy with our room initially as when I booked it with their agent a few days ago they said it was mid ship and middle room which was totally not the case and I felt mislead. They did grant the room change for an additional charge that was a steal. A lot of people I heard thought the food was low quality but the dude and I thought the food was absolutely delicious. I mean...yes there were a few items we didn't like but we just didn't get it again. Our Dining room servers we're phenomenal and we enjoyed seeing them every night. I am not a big fan of buffets at all so we always came for the nice sit down dinner and you will fall in love with the staff! I love the cocktails that they offer and they have several bars . Our favorite was the Mast Bar and Skylounge. We loved going to the Skylounge! Best seats in the house. We loved how relaxing and low key it was. The activities were perfect as we needed just a break and nothing over stimulating. We fell in love with our balcony room and our room attendant was absolutely beautiful and friendly. We loved her as she was so kind and always made us feel so special! We got to know staff all on a personal level so it made the trip even more special to us. The Ports were all lovely which was Puerto Vallarta. We chilled on the beach. Cabo was such a joy, and we felt they could take Ensenada off indefinitely as we stumbled upon an active crime scene yikes! We noticed a lot of people mostly stayed on board . To be honest we didn't feel as safe as we did in the other two ports of call. we had a fantastic time !! We were treated like royalty. If we just mentioned one thing to staff it was noted and remembered for next time . Like for dinner I like to sit next to the dude instead of across xD so they made sure our seating was arrange in that manner and my green tea with honey was ready for dinner - I almost cried as no one has ever payed that much attention to my preferences in my life and the dude was impressed too! WAS PERFECT UNTIL the dude sustained a serious injury on the ship the last night which required immediate hospitalization and surgery upon return to the USA according to the ship doctor. We were informed that since the dude sustained it on ship that he would not be charged for any medical but we did get charged which was a hassle for them to refund us but they recently did a few days ago as I had to keep calling and calling. Still the service was top notch until the dude and I needed assistance leaving the ship the next morning as the dude couldn't walk and filled with extreme pain. I won't go too much into details but it was a complete night mare especially if one has a physical disability and makes us hesitant on returning. We were outraged on the treatment from the time we called for assistance with a wheel chair as we were informed one would be there (nope it wasn't took about one hour and 30 minutes to get a wheel chair as no one wanted to help, even with luggage assistance and wheeling the dude like no staff wanted to help even when their supervisor asked them to when we finally got to the main hall they just STOOD there. The feeling the dude and I felt in that moment was speechless. If I COULD have done it all myself I WOULD have but I couldn't do it all push the dude in the wheel chair, carry my luggage and his luggage. Seriously upsetting. Celebrity did offer just an apology but that is unacceptable 100% . We are hoping they make it right as we are still on their feedback . Perfect cruise experience until the incident. read more

Cruise was cancelled once we flew down to Miami from Newark. They are reimbursing us for the cruise line and offering a credit toward another celebrity cruise only if used within a year. What they are not reimbursing for is the flight to miami which was $1300.00. With such an upscale cruise, first postponed for a day and then cancelled the next night I would have expected airfare to be covered; Very poor customer relations issue. I give them 1 star because of their HORRIBLE wait time to speak to a customer representative by phone prior to the cruise. Any call will be more than an hour of waiting time!!!! I think they only have 3 people working phones because seriously this happens every.single.time! We did our 40th anniversary cruise on Celebrity Beyond for 10 days!! I decided to surprise my husband with an upgrade to a suite!! I paid an additional $3600 and was so excited, we got to the terminal and I followed the guests for the suites and we had a special room and got to go on early and then when I got to the room, I was so disappointed it wasn't a suite it was just concierge, I honestly don't know what I paid all that money for because the room wasn't anything special. It was just like having a balcony room when I complained about it they told me that I paid for room not a suite I told them that was not what I asked for. I didn't even know what a concierge was. I got home from my cruise and called and I am so disappointed they're not offering to refund me even in a credit for a cruise or my cash back and we're on a fixed income. I have no words for a company that would do this to an elderly couple on a fixed income. On a special our 40th. Here's one for the books, shows how heartless some American companies are when our president is touting "buy American " I booked a short excursion cruise in November, I'm a first responder & just found out I contracted cancer, more than likely from 911,celebrity told me when I booked it several months ago that If I cancel I would lose the 200$ down payment I left on my credit card. When I called to cancel I explained my situation & that I would be going for treatment. I asked if they could transfer my deposit for another cruise in January. They said that they could do that but I'd also have to pay 750$ to cover the cost of one passenger. Which I didn't have to do on the cruise I was canceling. So then they told me they would credit me my 200$ but I would have to pay a 300$ cancellation fee! I implored the agent to show a little compassion in light of my situation & just credit me the 200$. His answer: "no I'm just doing my job " anyway I called back later on & got a number from a different agent & was able to have the 300$ fee waived but they still kept my 200$ to :Gary the first agent I might die protecting the freedom of you & your family! Took our first Celebrity sailing on the Millennium out of Vancouver.... All told I'd say it was really nice. This marks my 59th ocean cruise and my spouses 62nd sailing. To be fair the Millennium just came out of a $50 million rennovation in January... Cabins were refreshed with new large rectangular showers, cozy beds and large flat screens. The clean grey scale /modern vibe works for us. The public spaces were similarly clean with a modern vibe. The feel approaches that of a "W" hotel. Dining service for dinner was weak however the cuisine was a step up from the typical fare. Buffet fare scores a step up or excellent. Cabin steward was excellent as we're our contact with the pursers desk and future sales staff. Overall I'm gonna push 5 stars here because the main dining dinner faults over service will be ignored ... even though It was like we had trainees handing our dinners every night. However everything else scores 5 stars. read more

I keep asking myself what has happened to the Celebrity Cruise Lines? I have waited over 2 years to finally cruise again after all our other cruises were canceled. We chose the small ship Infinity solely for rhe Turks and Caicos. We kept calling prior to boarding to make sure the itinerary wouldn't change or ship would be diverted. We were reassured nothing has changed even the night before boarding. When we get on, the itinerary was change and all the printed material and TV channel was changed to Mexico. What a disappointment. Thank you for keeping the passengers safe, but at least be honest. I would have canceled if I have known. The ship has 900 less passengers, but everyone is worried about less tips. As for the ship, pass! It should be retired. The Summit is so much nicer. Rust, dirty windows, mold, broken tiles, and worn-out carpet. We have adjoining rooms with out friends and both rooms have burnt out lights and ballasts for the fixtures. As for the entertainment, they try so hard. "A" for effort. We paid for the upgrade WiFi, worked half the time, constantly down due to weather? It is cloudy? As for the the food, horrible in the Oceanview Cafe, good in the main dining, and great in specialty dining. As a Healthcare provider, I am concerned about the spread of COVID-19. Some staff without mask, few with mask, and some with N95. Not very worried about hand hygiene. I could add so much more. It has crushed my faith as a member of the Captains Club with Celebrity Cruise Lines. read more

SO glad I heard of their pop-up restaurant event from TastingTable. My friends & I had a blast, the food was fantastic, there was FREE valet parking (in the Mission!!), & it was unlimited drinks (from their selection of a few wines.. but normally in a prix-fixe menu you pay extra for a drink pairing!). The 3 courses were just $50 a person, & we definitely drank our money's worth =). We even got some free gifts - a purse hanger & a nice cheese-grater on our way out. The service was above & beyond - they were friendly, gave good recommendations, & when I asked if they could close the outer door as the draft was making me cold, they did that, turned the heat up, & the manager as well as our server kept checking to make sure I wasn't cold anymore. I'm very tempted to go on a Celebrity Cruise based on this experience.. but I found out that two local chefs (the Hillside Supper Club chefs!) collaborated on the menu. This is AWESOME, don't get me wrong, but I highly doubt that they will be on the cruise cooking every meal & there would be this level of attention to every aspect of the food & service. deceptive & misleading. we booked a cruise. they said it leaves at 4pm. then they said to avoid long lines, your preferred boarding time is 12-2:30pm. due to airline, we arrived at dock at 3:20-3:30 instead of 1:00 as originally planned. we were then told the gangplank was removed at 2:30. NO WHERE did it say if you don't board by 2:30 you will be turned away. they refused to give refund. so i gave celebrity $3,350 to ruin our family christmas. they certainly guaranteed that my very first cruise will also be my very last. read more

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. After three months of trying to reach AON travel insurance, recommended by Celebrity, I still do not have a refund of the $3,143.74 for the cruise I did not take due to health reasons. Both, Celebrity or AON, when called, have an endless music hold that resolves nothing....but, in the meantime both companies enjoy the use of my hard earned money!!!!...and, when I will finally succeed in getting a refund, of course, I will not receive any interest on it as it should be, by right. This lack of customer service, or frustratingly mediocre service, will be the reason why I recommend anyone to think twice or three times before going on any cruise with Celebrity. For sure, I will never again go on a Celebrity cruise! If you like the aggravation or the high blood pressure resulting when dealing with this company, go ahead!!! We are frequent cruisers and have traveled on Carnival, Princess, Holland American, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and Celebrity. While I can truly say we have NEVER had a terrible cruise, we find ourselves going back again and again to Celebrity. Here's why: 1. Exemplary customer service is consistently a priority on their ships - friendly, helpful, and go out their way to resolve any issues/concerns. 2. The food is better than on most other cruise lines - in the dining rooms, buffet, and specialty restaurants. 3. The focus is on an aesthetically appealing ship without being off the chart gaudy. 4. We are a couple without kids and the Celebrity provides for kid friendly activity but that is not the focus - so they aren't trying to create the largest slide in the world, race tracks , rock climbing adventures, and so on. (There are many other cruise lines for this if that is what you need.) 5. The new renovations (on the older ships) such as the garden top experience - are really great for relaxing and hanging out with friends. 6. The 'perk's program provides an economical way to get such things a drink package or onboard credit. And, Celebrity runs special deals throughout the year. You just have to watch for them. 7. And, for a real 'teaser', go to the Celebrity website and view the video of the new Celebrity Edge. It's a ship like no other. read more

The cruise activities and trip itself was fine. I have not cruised in 30 years so took a short 4 day cruise. CAUTION to ALL TRAVELERS!!! Both of us in my stateroom were erroneously charged for an excursion we did not take for a FALSE CHARGE for a total of $176 plus change. I have been calling weekly for 6 weeks to follow up, get progress made and try to get reimbursed for the error. I kept getting told that "the system" showed we used our card at the excursion site on Coco Cay when in reality we made a purchase elsewhere on their private island. On my last call made I was told they called me and were waiting for me to call them back, yet I have no evidence of any calls to me that whole day. Supposedly my refund is in the works. I'll edit this review if/when I receive it. LESSON: Check your expenditure account daily to verify use of your card. This is not the first time it has happened to a family member of mine. They make it extremely hard to get refund I guess, hoping you will give up. read more

I went to Europe a few years ago with my family via Celebrity, and we had an amazing, luxurious experience. For our honeymoon, Husband and I decided to go on another cruise, this time to the Galapagos aboard the Celebrity Xpedition. I was a little worried about getting seasick, since the ship is only 98 passengers, but I knew that the quality of service that we would be receiving would be totally worth it. The positives: + Great itinerary. We visited several islands, as well as the city of Quito (with a guided tour, complete with security guards) and the equator line on our 10-night (7 nights were on the ship) vacation. + Great staff. I can't say enough about how nice everyone was, especially our stateroom attendant Lorena, and the doctor. When I got sick (more on this later), the doctor came by to check up on me 8 hours later, and sent lunch and dinner to our room. I wasn't well enough to eat the lunch, so Lorena took the entire tray away untouched. When she came back a few hours later around dinner, she had another tray and told me to eat. Her specific words: "Please, you need to eat. It's for your health." So sweet. + Great ship. It's small, so you will probably see everyone at least twice over the span of the week, even if you only stuck with a small group of people (everyone sort of forms cliques if they're traveling as pairs; families generally stuck together and didn't really intermingle much). Though it's an older boat, it's very well-maintained and clean. The negatives: - Surprisingly awful food. Well, I wasn't surprised considering our first stint on another Celebrity ship yielded really terrible food as well. Many of the passengers actually got food poisoning from eating at the deck grill (the grill was not hot enough, and they were cooking hamburgers. Raw meat + lukewarm grill = recipe for disaster). - Because it's a small ship, there was only one mealtime, and it was right after the talk about the next day's activities. The naturalist talked so much that the scheduled 15-minute presentation often went way over, and dinner wasn't served until at least half an hour later. Plus, there weren't that many dinner staff, so some tables were getting their main courses while others hadn't even ordered. Overall an AMAZING time on the equator. Celebrity's food has proven to be subpar, but if you're taking them to anywhere other than the Galapagos, try and eat off the boat to experience the local food. It's not like you book a cruise specifically to eat their food.. or maybe you do. Whatever, that's your choice then :) Yes, Celebrity is a bit more expensive than Holland, Princess or RC, but you get what you pay for, and in Celebrity's case, it's the superior service and quality of the ships. read more

When does a cruise line become too big? I have been lucky enough to cruise numerous times, so I think I have a good basis of comparison as I have cruised all the major lines. I am currently booked on Celebrity Beyond, one of the newest mega ships from Celebrity. We are paying well over $3000 for a seven (7) day cruise. We selected "anytime dining" as we always do, preferring not to be on a schedule. Recently I learned from people I met who just got off Beyond that reservations were needed even for anytime dining. I am not sure how it is anytime dining if you need to set a time and make reservations in advance. Moreover, the only dining times left available were 9:00pm and 9:30pm. As soon as the final payment was made, Celebrity changed the itinerary. You don't like it, tough suck it up. Celebrity changed one port for a lesser one and then cut our day in St. Thomas so that we now depart at 2:30pm giving us not enough time to do what we planned. Never have I cruised to St Thomas and left before 4:00pm. The excuse from Celebrity: "the ports are too busy" which translates to our ship is too big and has too many passengers so we must make changes because there is no room. Give me the older ships that have less people on them and better service any day over these huge ships with thousands of passengers. I am already dreading joining the masses on this ship, but they have my money, so I am stuck. I doubt I would ever cruise with Celebrity again after this. read more

We have done Royal Caribbean, MSC, Costa and Celebrity. Have to say that Celebrity is by far the best of all of them. If it's simply going to the Bahamas or Mexico, or if you want to go to alaska or the Panama Canal, Celebrity is the way to go. Alaska was outstanding! The Glaciers are a must see and the Captain turned the boat around in place, he did a 360 all the way around so everyone could see the Glaciers from the different angles of the boat. Panama Canal was awesome! Although I have to say that we wish there was a bigger variety of people on this specific cruise. We felt like we were the younger ones on board and we are in our 40's/. Celebrity cruise line has a great crew, food is yummy all around, and the boats are easy to navigate. It is not a cruise for kids and teen agers, and their boats will not have all the rock climbing walls and entertainment as such, but the solarium pool and spa area make up for these things. So after trying the different cruises, we are definitely staying with Celebrity. read more
