Coming from Seattle where tanning salons are in every strip mall to looking for one here in Phoenix is a adjustment. I Yelp searched fir a decent tanning salon in my area. Celebrity Tanning was the only one that I found was open. Just drove up, no appointment and went in. Mackenzie, pretty, friendly and quite knowledgeable young lady greeted me. I told her I saw their coupon on Yelp for Tanning $1 and spray tans $20. She knew right away what I was talking about and proceeded to ask me what level I wanted, not a gimmick for only low level bed etc. I asked quite a few questions about the different spray tans & tanning beds. Mackenzie knew the answers to all my questions, not some off hand replys that wasn't really true. ( as a professional sales trainer I tend to ask questions I already know the answers too). Great service first of all Very clean and modern facility with Modern Equipment And excellent value They have $10 monthly memberships too. Just leaving one of the best experiences I've had at celebrity tanning. I have been coming for years and just stopped in for a tan, and Taylor, Marley, and Kenzie were so fantastic and helpful. I have never been treated so nicely and they walked me through the different beds they had. They even suggested the special going on where you can upgrade to red light therapy or luxury beds for a week, which I took advantage of and I thoroughly enjoyed. It's so nice to go someplace for people actually care about customers and their experience. I highly recommend! read more

BE CAREFUL IF YOU SIGN A MEMBERSHIP WITH CELEBRITY TANNING!!!!!!! I joined this company for the summer and when I wanted to stop it for the winter I was told by the clerk that I could pause it for $5.00. So I paused it. What she didn't tell me was I would be charged $5.00 every month. A few months later when realized that I was being charged $5.00 every month I called and said I wanted to cancel the membership. Then I was informed that I would have to come into the store to sign some papers and would be charged the monthly fee for the month that I put it on pause. Very deceiving as she did not explain that to me when I put it on pause. I will never do business with CELEBRITY TANNING and will let everyone I know to beware of them. read more

The girl with glasses at the counter was extremely rude. I politely asked if I could use a different tanning bed since she put me in a machine I have never used, when suddenly her face dropped and eyes rolled back. I stopped her from taking me to another machine and said "that's okay, I will just finish my tan at the next location." I wish I spoke to the manager. I love this place but I will never go back to that location. I recommend the one on Indian School!! She was so sweet and made my day better. read more

Staff is great and friendly. At other tanning companies they typically push packages. They don't do that here, which I love! They add great comments and stuff in regards to getting what you want! I haven't been tanning in years but decided to try it out again. I was impressed by this location and was able to visit for the first time for free with only having to purchase eyewear and a small packet of lotion to try. The girl working was very friendly and patient as she allowed me to ask a lot of questions to re-familiarize myself with the process of using beds and working up a base. I was able to use any level bed for my first time and was explained the package option and the billing very clearly. I will return! read more

I started as a member almost a year ago and its pretty nice. I never really had to wait for a bed. Everything was super clean and nice. The gals at the front even knew who I was and checked me in quick. Sometimes I feel like the front staff is a little bit closed off but warmed up the more I came into the salon. Canceling and freezing was super easy and will return as a client again in the fall/winter. read more

The girl at the counter was pretty rude and not very helpful. I went for a spray tan and it didn't tan me at all. I didn't shower and did not sweat after and there is NO tan. When I got out even the girl noticed it and then she told me it'll turn darker later on (even though I got the instant tan) and now the next day NO tan at all. Still white as ever. read more

The lack of customer service at Celebrity Tanning is mind boggling. They just don't care. I dealt with a girl named Lexi. Be very careful with this shady operation. I came in and got pricing on a plan for tanning and it was a bait and switch operation. Then they lock you into a contract you can never get out of. There are many other honest operations that I would prefer to give my business to. It's a shame because the location was convenient for me and I had been a multiple year long term repeat client. Their business practices have obviously changed as of late. Also be careful of the crazily over-priced lotion they sell. You can get it at half price anywhere else. read more

After seeing the billboard for a $19 spray tan, my husband and I checked it out. The girl I spoke with on the phone was very helpful, friendly, and also the same in person. They give your first tan in the bed for free (I don't know of any other places in Phoenix that do that). The girl explained all of the beds and memberships. My husband opted for the spray tan and I went with the free tan. The girl did a nice job explaining the times I might want to tan for given I didn't have a base and the bed settings that I could adjust while in the bed. I liked that each room had a towel and goggles waiting on the bed. The girl also let me use one of the lotions to try out. Very nice. They have a 3 spray tan package for $49 which is very inexpensive. My husband did his 2 days ago and it doesn't seem like it has faded. They also have monthly memberships or for people like me who would use it a couple of times a year, tan packages that last for 2 years. She also let us know that on Friday 3/9, they are having BOGO on packages. I will definitely stop in and purchase a spray tan and tanning bed package in that case. I think the 10 tanning bed packages are $60. read more

Best investment ever is the color of confidence. I bought the premium package for spray tanning and I absolutely love it. There's two machines Versa and the Mystic in which I recommend both. I always do an instant bronzer for faster color and results. It's worth the money and avoid the suns harmful rays. You won't regret getting some color on your face. Glow up read more

I called to inquire information on memberships, I was told to come in and discuss options. So I did.... There wasn't any deals that fit my needs so I just ended up signing up for the platinum membership. I was offered 40% off of any product. Hence the products are way over priced, and cheaper online. So really, not getting a deal. I get it, it's business. I was also offered a week to try out the diamond package bed so that was a perk, only I wasn't instructed on how to use it. There were buttons I've never seen before like a music button, volume button. I'm guessing that bed plays music but I didn't know how to work it. So I left it alone after pressing so many buttons. I did like the comfort of the bed. I left with a tan so that also made me happy. The girl that gave me information and signed me up was helpful overall. Can't wait to see how dark I can get :) might have to upgrade one day. read more

Big mistake tanning here. First time I went in, I told them I hadn't used a tanning bed in many years and don't get a lot of sun. They recommended 6-7 minutes in the high strength bed. Afterwards, I was red as a lobster. A week later, I went back and tanned for 3 minutes and didn't burn. Today I went in and was informed they only have one bed in the entire salon that my silver plan is allowed to use, it was occupied and I'd need to upgrade or else wait. (They like to push upgrades here.) I wish they told me that when I signed up. Only can use 1 bed out of a dozen. I will be cancelling my membership and looking into other options. Celebrity tanning is a huge disappointment. read more

I've always loved celebrity tanning locations and i loved the ones in Scottsdale. But this one is so unorganized. It sucks! Every single time i come in to tan, there is some sort of confusion on my account. They never read my file and always try to put me in a spray bed, not noticing i just walked in with my tanning lotion? Had so many issues I could go on and on, still waiting on a refund, machines broken, wait times long due to poor organization, and more. They didn't have a manager for this location so no resolution. This place is horrible, every time I go in I'm told different pricing and most the girls are not nice, and have attitude... they do not care to be helpful at all especially the blonde who works there. I was in on 8/15/20 around 430pm. Not to mention celebrity tanning is grossly overpriced for what it offers. Go anywhere but here, unless you want to get ripped off. I am very disappointed with this company. This is the second year i have used celebrity tanning. I figured I'd give them a second chance benefit of the doubt. They take advantage of you and most of the girls are real snotty and are definitely not consistent with communication. I have tried to cancel my subscription for the past few months. It is almost like pulling teeth to get one of the supervisors to get back to you. I definitely feel like I've gotten the runaround. I finally got a hold of a supervisor, she said she was going to cancel my subscription. She did for one month then I started getting charged again. They kept taking funds out of my bank. Last month I ended up going into the Indian school location, to figure out what's going on. The young girl told me I was on a suspension where they charge me 5 dollars a month. I had told her "no I can show you my statement they keep taking the $35 out every month." Finally this girl had me sign something no one had me sign before. I also asked her to email me a confirmation because I've had so many issues in the past I would like it for my records. I never received that email. What did I even sign? This month I was charged again. Very upset. I went into the Indian school location again to figure out what's going on and the girl could not help me and of course no Manager or supervisor was present. She gave me a customer service number and of course nobody reached back out to me. This company is nothing but a scam. I am very upset with this situation. I haven't even tanned in months. read more

I already forgot the girls name who answered my call....but she completely was OUT OF LINE. I have been tanning here for well over 5 months and was told that because my card was stolen and my auto payment did not go through, I would be forced to pay for 3 weeks of tanning that I did not even get to use! I was never informed of this and simply just was too busy to come in to tan for those three weeks. I called in to make sure that I could have a new start date (as of today) and pay my regular $80+ for unlimited tanning on their most expensive bed. This is something I pay for consistently and THOUGHT I was a valued customer. Unfortunately the girl on the phone undermined me, had an attitude a mile long, and told me that it was MY fault for not coming in to tan for 3 weeks. (mind you I have a very expensive unlimited plan and can come in as I please. I should never have to answer to any one who speaks so rudely to customers.) I was also never informed of their policy regarding start dates? Maybe because they have SO MANY NEW WORKERS EVERY SINGLE MONTH. They are poorly trained and know nothing about the product. She was using a lot of run around language and attempted to swindle me into paying $80+ for the 9 days left on my monthly plan, and then proceeded to tell me that I would need to pay another $80+ for "the next month." Where I am from, a customer who has been there for MONTHS should be valued and treated properly. I am unsure of this girls name as I was so taken aback at her attitude, but she was working at around 1pm today. I will be leaving celebrity and taking my business elsewhere. I suggest you all do the same. Not to mention the girls are always on their phones and snobby here anyways. I've been planning a trip out of state so I needed a base tan to start- I normally go to the Celebrity tanning in Peoria but on my lunch break I found one right by my work- this establishment is always so very clean and I don't have to wait long to get into a bed. The staff is very friendly and always willing to show me how to use the bed in the case I change. They are knowledgeable on the products they sell and recommend to me which would be best for my skin tone. Always a friendly here in this establishment. read more

Girls were really nice but my spray tan is not good. It came out orange he this time. I don't know why. It also turned very orange on my hands despite using the lotion they tell you to put on. It missed both of my sides. You can see the spray line. Going to call and see if they will respray me. Not Happy this time. I went back they resprayed me with a lighter color. I was still orange and could still see the lines. Less than before. May have been the lotion. Next time I will try it without. read more

I purchased a Groupon for a mystic tan. As far as the service goes, the young lady who greeted me was so friendly and nice. The salon was also very clean and well kept. I would definitely come back. The only thing is - I do wish they had the versa spa rather than the mystic. read more
