One phone call I spoke with a receptionist who let me know to send an email to have my issue corrected and account canceled.... 3 emails later and ZERO response. Hi! I just noticed that I have been being charged $89.19 since (noticed it was earlier than what I put in the email which was June but technically have been charged since MARCH). I have been tanning here since this place opened. I would have to say there have been a few favorite girls that have worked here! But this staff of young women are the best. First the place is always clean! Which I appreciat. especially because in the last it's been pretty bad. 2nd these girls are always smiling happy and very knowledgeable of any products you wanna buy. It's been a terrible experience.. they will not answer the phone and they keep charging me. I've been trying to cancel my membership for months now. I have moved and they won't answer the phone. I've sent messages online that have been ignored. I finally got through to a person who said she couldn't cancel my membership so to call corporate and leave them a message..and you guessed it, the mailbox is full. I called back and no answer. Loved this hidden new find! Wow the area is brand new so everything is state of the art, best on the market and fresh and DAZZLING clean. The receptionist was super kind and friendly, the store was empty when I arrived I was the only guest for the start of the day. I found the shop with researching tanning beds in the area and it caught my eye for any bed for the first time client is $1! So for those who usually have gone through this process you are saving money if you have your own eye protectors and your tanning solution for your beds. I spent money on the best tanning lotion offered in the store, since I was paying $1 for the mack daddy of them all- tanning beds. It was super cool, multi gadgets to adjust temp in the bed, music, facial tanning, and fan. Loved everything that it had to offer, the receptionist was a doll, and location had signs posted for safety and procedures they took in motion for daily use . Mask was worn and mandatory for entrance, hand sanitizer right out in the front for all clients. Touch less payments and email for receipts too. read more

I had a frozen account for over a year and cancelled it in person. The credit accumulated from all of the $5 charges was never added to my account after cancelling. I was told in person that it could take a day to be added, so I waited and went in person multiple times to check. I was told by another associate that only upper management could add the credit to my account, so I called the corporate number they gave me in store and left a message and callback number and have never gotten a call back. I have called multiple times after this, and nobody has ever answered or called back. I am owed around $100 in store credit and it's proving impossible to get. read more

Do NOT sign up for the spray club membership unless you enjoy being ripped off. I signed up in June for the one spray a month. I was assured by the sales person that my tans would roll over monthly. Aka if I didn't use my tan one month, I would have two the next month. Spoiler: that's NOT the case. Also, I tried to cancel my membership the Thursday before Labor Day weekend. The sales person told me their computer system was down and that it was impossible to cancel my account. Okay. Whatever. I go in tonight expecting to have 3 tans accumulated on my account only to be told that the sprays don't roll over. The sales person just said "yeah... that sucks." I used to work at a Palm Beach Tan and we never would have (1) lied to a customer to sell a membership and (2) not tried to right a wrong. I immediately cancelled my membership and will NOT be going back to this, or any, Celebrity Tan unless I get credited the two tans I should have had. TLDR: avoid this place at all costs and opt for a Groupon at another place instead. You'll have a person spraying you instead of a machine, which may be awkward, but I can't imagine worse customer service than what I've experienced here. read more

Terrible customer service. I had an employee charge my card without permission and then lied to me and told me she refunded it which she didn't and still hasn't two weeks later. I emailed corporate last week to Jaclyn as I was instructed and a week later no response and again today no response and I go I and the same horrible girl was working so obviously they don't care about having honest employees. I am in shock this employee still has a job. My email that I got no response to: Dear Jaclyn, I am a member at your Indian School and 32nd St. location under #%!? and had an upsetting incident with an employee on Saturday morning (around 11:00am) January 16th. I went to check in and the employee asked if I had my own goggles and I said I did not that they have always been provided and asked if this was something new, she said "yes and I can't let you back there unless you have them or buy them" and it wasn't so much what she said but the rude tone of voice that was the issue. Then she said she has a temporary pair I could have (which was basically stickers) and to bring them next time or she would have to charge me. Then a minute later I get a notification that she had charged my account without my permission and the amount wasn't the issue it was only $1.13 but the principle and that is illegal. Had she asked I would have said yes. So when I got out of the bed and question her about it instead of apologizing she makes excuses and said it wasn't her fault but the system and she said she would reverse it and it may take a day or two to show. So long story short it wasn't reversed, and when I went in yesterday was told by another employee that they are not able to do that and to contact you. The issue here isn't the dollar amount but the behavior of the employee and the dishonesty not once but twice. Please resolve this situation, thank you in advance. Warm regards, Sarah read more

I've been a "luxury member" for over a year now. Overall this place is pretty good. Almost all the girls are friendly and kind. The reason I am giving it a 2 star review is bc of one of the staff members. Mackenzie is rude, never smiles, never greets you, and flat out has no respect for customers. And being that she knows me from coming over a year and knows I have the luxury membership you would think she would be a little nice. She's not. And she basically is snide and sarcastic at the same time. And the icing on the cake happened the other day when she made me wait 6 minutes to check in as she was helping a new client sign up. She didn't even acknowledge that I was standing there. A simple "Hi would you mind waiting a few minutes while I help someone" would be nice. Or most other girls quickly check me in on the other computer as I always use the same machine. But no. So I kindly asked if it's possible to quickly check me in, and before I can finish my sentence she cut me off spoke over me and said no! Then spoke over me again when she was done. So bc Mackenzie is an awful and miserable human being I'm going to cancel my membership. Bye girl. read more

Terrible customer service ... once they got you as a member your nothing to them... they made me sit there for as long my tanning would have taken just to sign up a new customer... when I walked in I was not greeted or acknowledged at all... it takes two seconds to set someone up to tan.. but they would rather leave you sitting there ... that's not good customer service at all I would not recommend this place if you like to be treated with good customer service or if you plan on tanning on a tight busy schedule! read more

The staff are nice and all beds but one have been clean. I don't believe they require masks, so keep that in mind if it's important to you.

I'm been going here for years for spray tanning and yet the last 3 times I've walked out almost looking the same. I always request I highest bronzing level and it's clear they are diluting the solution or changing something. It's sad because it's convenient for me but I won't go again after this last time. However, the manager I am afraid is not experienced enough I am thinking she is all of 20 years old and we know how 20 year old girls are. They could not possibly have the knowledge from experience. I don't fake bake, but I do occasionally Mystic. When I found Celebrity Tan and actually got tan Mysticing instead of orange I was ecstatic. I'm not sure what the difference in their formula is but I was really impressed with the color and got several compliments on my new "tan". I also noticed that the tan seemed to last longer than past Mystics. Their Mystic Booth is also superior to previous booths I've used. Instead of being closed in a capsule it's open on the sides so you can actually breath without suffocating on Mystic vapors. After each spray of Mystic there is also a quick blast of air so you dry as you go and don't have to wipe yourself down afterward. The only thing that I don't like about this tanning salon is that they charge $24 for the Medium or Dark formula and only $19 for Glow or Light. Who goes to get a tan and picks Glow or Light? Isn't that what we're trying to cover up with a tan? Regardless of the price difference, I'll be back, and probably to purchase a package so I can save a little money. read more

I do not feel like a celebrity when I tan here, but I do enjoy the service, for the most part the girls that run this place are top notch, I never have to show my little key chain thingy and usually have my account up before I even get through the door, the place is always clean and I think I only had to wait for a bed once. The hours are great. Overall it is very nice for Phoenix. Drawbacks and the reason this place did not get 5 stars: 1. In most of the beds you do not have any way to listen to your own music, and they only play one radio station, and considering the age of the attendants you can expect to hear the Jonas Brothers or Maroon 5 or hip hop every time you are there. I like to relax when I tan...not feeling Fergies newest lady lump song when I am laying in a bed thank you. 2. There are no mirrors in the dressing room, I would like to see if I have have sweat or undissolved lotion all over me when I get out of the bed. One of the girls told me the owner doesn't believe in mirrors due to the fact he thinks that people would spend to much time in the rooms looking at themselves after they got done in the beds. R u serious!!!!..people tan to look better not for their health of course they are going ot look at themselves. Put in mirrors!!! 3. In general I do not think their beds are that strong, I did not get really dark here after 3 Solid months of tanning with lotion..really expensive lotion!!! 4. They do not have a ton of lotions to choose from! Maybe two brands which they will try to push on you when you first sign up or are running out. 3.5 *'s... I rarely go indoor tanning, because of the "risks" and all. But we have an upcoming beach vacation and I wanted to get a head start on my tan. When I found a recent Groupon deal for here, I bought immediately. I'm using the monthly pass for a good deal. Today's been my second day/experience here on the monthly pass. Yesterday no issues -- clean bed, towel & goggles were provided. I thought the goggles were a nice touch -- other places I was required to purchase my own. But I about fell over when I heard how expensive the lotions are. OMG!! $50 for bottle of lotion!! Are you kidding me?! The cheapest bottle was $35. Crap, that's expensive. (Or maybe that's the going rate - - either way, it's obviously been a long time since I've been in a tanning salon.) Today, arrived around 9:40am -- totally quiet. The front desk gal was more friendly than the girl yesterday. And I decided to up my time from 9min to 11min. Ummmm.... the bed never shut off!! I was counting the minutes in my head "So... if I've heard 4 songs, at an average of 3min/song -- that would be 12 min." -- I looked at the timer, it was showing "..." So I pressed stop, and that didn't do anything. I advised the gal on my way out, and she said that they'll have someone take a look at it. So ..... be weary of bed #14 (if you go.) Clean place. I grew up in the Midwest where everyone uses a tanning bed so I don't shy away from a good fake glow. I got a groupon for an unlimited month of tanning for $24 in their entry level beds and couldn't wait to get my bronze on. The place is very clean and they have an amazing selection of beds (all UWE). I also didn't have a problem with walking in and was always checked in in a prompt manor. My issue was with the sales process. When I came in for my initial visit the girl behind the desk did her best to upsale me to the next level of bed from the one on my groupon. I was told I could upgrade to the next level for another $30. I asked about the value of my groupon and they said the $24 value I had paid for it would be put towards another level's month to month price which was really no deal for me to considered upgrading. Their level 1 bed is a Tropical bed which I am very familiar with and have used before (Bronze Boutique and Darque Tan). Some beds were great and others there was no direct AC vent to the room and the bed fan was broken. Some rooms didn't even have a trash can. Normally I have no problem ramping up to the full time on a bed but I hit a snag with these beds and couldn't get up to the full time. Anytime I went in the bed over 10 min I got very red afterwards. Thankfully I never peeled but even tanning, waiting 48 hrs and coming back, I couldn't get past 10 min without being miserable and sore. When I asked about their bulbs the desk girl was happy to tell me about how much I could spend to upgrade to the next level where I would be "less likely to burn". Oh this business again :/ They do have a large selection of lotions but they are not quality. I am a Cal Tan girl and will occasionally stray to Matahari but I DON'T want to buy some cheap lotion created by JWOWW or Kardashian. Bottom line, you will be nickel and dimed (and burned) unless you want to shell out $80 a month for their Diamond level beds. read more

While celebrity tanning always appears to be one of the nicer tanning places in the valley, I would definitely avoid this location. The beds are poorly maintained; the bulbs are replaced very infrequently so there are always numerous bulbs that have burned out in whichever bed you use. But worse, the customer service is terrible. The girls working are usually distracted, chatting with friends rather than serving the customer. Also, regardless of which celebrity tanning you go to, do NOT sign up for a monthly membership. They say they have a 30 day cancellation policy but they don't pro-rate the partial month if you cancel mid-billing cycle so it's really a 60 day cancellation. Very shady that they don't clearly explain that. However, they do seem to keep the place clean which is why I gave them 2 stars rather than 1. read more

I try to not tan in beds very often, but love to Mystic Spray Tan. This place gave me a great price for a large package and I am very happy with the results. I always upgrade to the darkest liquid (the package is for the generic color) and always look awesome for about a week afterwards. The girls are usually very nice too. I left my Juicy Couture necklace while tanning once and they called and told me they had found it. When I came back in a few weeks later, someone had stolen it. Not sure who since it was behind the counter, but my bad for leaving it there for so long I guess. Karma to the person who took my necklace and a good learning lessen to me for not rushing back to get it. I don't tan a lot, but went in the other day and found my spray tans had expired. Yikes! I was VERY happy with the owner who extended the expiration so I can use the rest of my tans now. I was unaware of the 2 year expiration date, so I'm sure it was my fault for not reading something, but she gave me excellent and quick customer service. I will ALWAYS go back here now, even though I have moved farther away, and will refer people to them. I love their beds too, and will go a few times before my next vacation to get super tan and bring my fiancee. I don't really tan but I'll mystic- their website shows a fancy WARM mystic booth which they don't actually have. I didn't realize this until I had already paid for a package. I was butt naked shivering as I was blasted by the doorless machine. However, it got the job done. The lotions are too expensive- you can buy them online much cheaper. False mystic advertising- not cool. no waits, nice girls, clean rooms- cool. read more

I purchased a two-week package before our Cayman trip and it was a very pleasant, simple process. The gal who signed up me (Randi I believe) was very knowledgeable and informative on the beds. She suggested where I should start and how to properly progress in order to get the most out of the package. Overall, I didn't burn and had quick color in just a few days time. Beds were clean as was the facility. I like that they have mirrors in the individual rooms as well. Would recommend! read more

DO NOT go to this place or the one on 16st , I think it's the same owner , first I would like to say that I went to this place around 10am one day and it was still closed the sign said open it opens at 9am , so I left and went to the one on 16st and I mentioned it to an employee and they said that store was having some problems but someone should be there to open it soon !!! Whatever !!! Next issue ....they discontinued a lot of package options , so when I signed up they basically said I had to enroll in the monthly subscription or pay for each tan , I told them I only needed to tan for 2 months they said that's ok you can cancel but you have to let us know 30 days in advance I said ok , so when I brought up the time I was ready to cancel they said that I would have to wait another month , I told them I will be out of town , so I won't even be using the tanning , so i decided to wait till anther girl was working , which was even worse , I told her I want to cancel , I don't even care about losing a month anymore , which btw is pretty expensive almost 60$ down the drain , the girl said well you don't have to cancel just put your account on hold , I said ok this MIGHT be an option ( only said might cuz at this point I'm really not starting to trust these people) but at the very end of the Convo she slipped in " o yea it'll only be 5$ a month to put on hold " at first I was like mmmhh, but then I thought I don't tan often at all I didn't plan on coming back for atleast 7 months so why would I pay 35$ for nothing , so I told the girl I don't think I wanna do that but she basically told me no lol , she was like a desperate telemarketer , I know the girls get paid off commission but at this point I'm like thinking the owners only pay them in free tan sessions , like Jesus Christ give this pathetic girl a paycheck cuz this is annoying , anyways make a long story short lol , I asked to speak to managers several times nobody ever got in contact with me and so I had to go up to my bank and cancel my card just to get away from these assholes !!!! I have been to quite a few of the celebrity tans salons over the past few months and I must say this is by far the best tanning salon I have ever been to! First of all every one I have interacted with is so pleasant and willing to assist in any way needed and answer any questions. The locations are all pretty clean, some newer looking than others. I have been to A LOT of tanning salons (Chicago, Toronto, Miami) and this is by far the best I've been to. They have awesome beds and the place is very clean. I found the selection of tanning products to be great. If you don't want to pay higher prices for products, get them elsewhere! duh! And as far as not being able to listen to your own music, I think there are some beds you can plug an ipod into (I'm not sure though), but I think it is possible to go 10 minutes without listening to music - lol! I would highly recommend this place - I'll be going back for those hard to reach places that the sun just doesn't get! read more
