Honestly I've been going to this dump for way too long, paying a membership and everything. Terrible tans and even worse- tonight I showed up @859 because of all of the road closures for the construction and waste management etc and Kailey was so beyond rude, telling me no and to leave. I'm cancelling my membership immediately. The tans actually are horrible anyway but it was so easy and quick I kept up w the membership . read more

Celebrity Tanning has been consistent with their spray tanning rooms and they work well...plus the cleanliness of rooms! I love coming here to keep my tan (regardless of seasons) as it's close by and always open when I feel the need! The girls are always nice and do a good job of keeping it clean and stay friendly all the time...no problems for the past +++ months and I highly recommend Celebrity Tanning! The young girls at this location have no idea what they're doing. I spend money here every month to be able to tan, as something relaxing to do for myself. The past 2 times I've been in, I've dressed/undressed multiple times to go to the front desk to ask them to do their jobs with less than desirable spray tan beds. I wish there was a more convenient tanning location by my residence. They don't explain anything about first time use of any beds so if you've never tanned, go somewhere else. Where is the MANAGER? Try hiring young girls with enthusiasm and knowledge. So disappointed. read more

Horrible salon... not to be trusted!! I've been given mixed information so many times! I signed up for a tanning package, explaining to the girl that I would be out of state for a few months and she assured me my tans would still be on my account and valid upon my return. (Otherwise I would've just purchased one tan). Now I've been told I have to sign up for a membership to access "my" tans.... So you're telling me I have to spend money to use something that I already purchased??? Hmmm. Way messed up!! read more

This is the place in No. Scottsdale to get your bronze on! I've been a member here for about a year and a half and have always encountered friendly service from staff, tidy appearance of lobby area/restroom/all tanning rooms including beds, and great tanning results! They do have a generous amount of various lotions for purchase along with awesome promotions/incentives at times. It isn't dirt cheap to tan here but their price points are pretty on par with other competition. Membership packages are available which will save you money. Their beds are always full functioning (no burned out bulbs) and are top of the line. Celebrity Tanning always makes you feel like an A-list VIP - give them a go!!! read more

I transferred from Palm Beach Tanning (10 years) to Celebrity Tanning Salon. The atmosphere is friendly, extremely clean and the staff is amazing! Talia, is an awesome employee. She remembers my name each time I come in, and my extra towel to cover my face. I appreciate how she makes me feel special each time I come in. On Nov. 11th, I paid $50 for an extra spray tan that did not result in a tan. I usually spray here in their new Versa machine and so I paid the high price because I had family photos later in the day and wanted to be tan. Well, without disclosing to me that the machine was broken, I was placed into the old (clearly not functioning) machine and sprayed. I was still trusting that they would not use this if it wasn't working. Well, four hours later with an accelerator, I had zero tan. I had to scramble at the last minute to get sprayed at another salon and pay $50 more. When I called the salon and asked for a credit on my account to come back when their machine was up and running, they told me I had to reach out to corporate. I have now called and emailed corporate twice and have received NO reply. This is a company I have been a customer of for many years and this is how they treat me? They seem to have no trouble taking my money every month but not ensuring they render services. read more

The cleanliness of this salon is awful, I usually spray and have been a member for over 6 months now and the room is always in very poor condition, I thought after Covid they would be so much better about cleaning but nothing has changed. Iv bed tanned and the tops of the acrylic in the bed are always smudge with lotion, and walls have lotion splats all over. Sweeping corners are forgotten, hair and dust bunny piles. The girls need to be trained on how to clean and less sitting on cell phones. I love the location and the girls are friendly and the beds and booths are good equipment just wish they were cleaned properly :( read more

They have Several Very Good New or the Latest Tanning Equipment from Super Beds, Regular Beds, Stand-up Booth, to a Spray Tan Booth, that's all topped off with Great Customer Service from all of their Staff!! They also have very good business hours to accommodate everyone day or night! Not to mention very reasonable pricing and optional packages that save you more money and is entirely your choice as how you want to pay for your services!! OK... I have about had it with this place... Even though you have paid for the month for tanning if you're one day late getting there you don't get to tan.. even though you have already paid for it. I thought that was illegal. If I missed the month, then I should get a refund for it if I don't use it or it should roll over to the next month. Secondly, they change their hours without you knowing it. They used to be open from 9 to 9 from Monday to Saturday and G all of a sudden they decided to change their hours on Saturday to 6 o'clock closing. Just went into town tonight and they wouldn't let me tan because I had a balance of $12 on my account. I am on a monthly plan every month I pay $12 to tan one time during the month. They take it out of my account monthly and just because I had to change my credit card they wouldn't even let me go ahead and tan and call in with the new number tomorrow. The staff is all young girls, and their real snippety. Time to find a new place to go to. read more

I too transferred to Celebrity Tan from Palm Beach Tan and couldn't be happier. Have the VIP package, which offers more than PBT, and it is still less money. Win, win. Add in the staff is so friendly. I can't believe I didn't know about this place sooner. read more

I decided to get a spray tan for the first time in maybe a decade. I more or less knew what to expect, and after purchasing a Groupon for the peoria location, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this location (closer to me) would accept the Groupon. I spoke to a nice woman on the phone. Later that day I arrived for my mystic tan. The young clerk was pleasant but did not given me any instructions on the tan process or aftercare. ( I remember watching instructional videos in the past when I got a spray tan for prom!). Confused,I had to re-dress, and find the clerk in the salon. She told me the machine would give me all the instructions I needed. I thanked her went back to the spray tan room. Upon stepping into the both, my feet were immediately soaked. I thought it was normal as the girl said she had just cleaned the machine. No. Instead I was standing in excess spray residue from previous clients. My tan is flawless!!! BUT, the bottoms of my feet are brownish orange. Like totally obviouse and gross looking. I could have given this place five stars, but the young clerk gave me zero direction, maybe didn't clean the booth properly, (gross!!). Even after I sight her out to ask for help.... I tanned Saturday night. It's Tuesday night and the phones are still " out of service." Driving up would now be a waste of my vacation time. Hope the manager sees this. I would get a mystic tan again but I would probably go somewhere else. read more

I use to tan here which was very convenient for me. But out of the blue they decided that unless you sign up for the monthly auto deduct package they don't want your business. No big deal I'm sure I'll find a place that wants my money. read more

I cannot believe they would treat a loyal customer of many years this way. I have reached out to both General Manager Haley Frazier and owner Mike Johnson twice and still have not received a response - they don't care about their loyal customers but clearly care about stealing their money. The FLW store number has been disconnected - shady. I had been tanning at Celebrity since 2013. I gave it a glowing review right after I joined and dissuaded others from joining Palm Beach Tan, despite the clients at where I worked getting a discount if they joined Palm Beach - I was that impressed with Celebrity after I myself had gotten fed up with PBT. In October of 2017 - I requested to upgrade my package for the last week of October (I was getting married first week of November and wanted to catch up on getting the most tan I could in a week) and then be cancelled after November. So this meant that because they require 30 day cancellation notice, I would be charged one last time for November and no more from December on. Okay, no problem. I was given paperwork to sign by an employee who looked to be new (I had not seen her there before) and she seemed hesitant/unsure about the process but I didn't worry about it at the time. I signed what she gave me, an upgrade form and a cancellation form. Cut to this month in January - I see on my bank statement that I have been charged for December and January. Ugh, annoying but I know mistakes can happen so I decide to kindly reach out and inquire. I attempt to call and the number is no longer in service. So I have to call another store. Employee on phone (Hannah at Tatum and Bell location) looks up my account, says it has not been cancelled but she sees I filled out cancelation form and will have her manager Delaney Hutchinson call me back. A week later I have to call again because Delaney has not called me. I call again and leave a message for Delaney. Finally I get a call back from Delaney (from her cell phone because as she admitted - store phone was out of service) who says she does not see a signed cancellation form but understands that I did in fact go through the appropriate process at the FLW store in October. Delaney calls me back to tell me that they will not issue me a refund for the 2 months because they could not find a "signed" cancellation form?! I explained that I did fill out a form and I signed it and she just said that they can see my cancellation form but no signature so no refund. I ask "do you not believe that I cancelled and signed a form?" and she said that she does believe that I did but they just don't have the record of it. So, in other words it's THEIR mistake, yet they are making me pay for it?! Here's the kicker - Delaney told me "but what I CAN do, is stop any future billing for you right now so that you don't have to come in and sign the cancellation form" - She just told me they require a signed cancellation form and since they can't find the one I did sign months ago, they won't give me my money back but I don't have to sign THIS cancellation form??? How is this not a contradiction?!!! Obviously, an attempt at some fancy footwork since they realize it's their mistake and know they have to stop the billing right away anyway but without shining light on just that - THEIR MISTAKE. At the very least they could at least offer me 2 months of Mystic tans but nope - Just "we don't issue refunds". I explained to Delaney that I wanted to talk to her manager so she gave me Haley's email. I sent an email asking for a phone call to discuss the situation. No response. I send it again and also copy the owner on the email. Still. No. Response. I feel so hurt and disrespected by what I had believed for so long to be an honest, reputable local business who I proudly referred others too. I was very kind and diplomatic in my conversations to the store employee, and to Delaney (I explained to her that I was aware she wanted to help me but was just following orders from her boss and I thanked her for her time). I was very respectful in my emails, I did not accuse anyone of anything, I just asked to be called to discuss this and yet I am not even given the simple courtesy of a response from upper management. I just can't believe they would treat me this way :( read more

Horrible and completely unapologetic management. Where to start... my boyfriend and I decided to sign up for tanning together and about a month and a half ago went into this location. We liked the beds and the girl working was very sweet and helped explain the different options (I believe her name was Finley). After paying the $50 for a monthly membership we went to our rooms to tan. After shutting and locking my door I disrobed, got in the tanning bed and put my headphones on, after 12 minutes I stand up to realize the door to my room is wide open and a person has just walked by and possibly seen me completely naked! I quickly slammed the door and got dressed. I approached the desk clearly upset and asked why my door is open. The girl at the desk stated she had no idea. When she saw my door open she had forgotten that I was even in there and was in the process of sending a customer into that room. While explaining how horrified I was a women waiting for a bed informed me the same thing happened to her a month prior. She stated she let the front desk girl know and management was supposed to have been contacted. The door apparently doesn't completely look unless you slam it (room #5). I had checked the door as I always do and shut and locked it twice! The girl was very apologetic, stated she doesn't even work at that location and she was only filling in for the day. She apologized continuously as I reassured her it was not her fault. I asked to speak with management called the "managers" phone, left a message, and left my number to be contacted. I felt completely violated and wanted to know that this issue which had clearly been brought to their attention before would be resolved. After 4 weeks of continually calling and sending emails to management I have still yet to hear from anyone. Apparently as of one week ago, they have put a sign letting customers know to slam the door in order to get it to lock. I no longer go to this location and have now decided to completely cancel my membership. Any company who does not care to simply return the call of a very upset and violated customer does not deserve my money. read more

The girls who work here are all super sweet, they're never pushy salesman like at most other salons. They provide you with clean eyewear and a towel and the beds are always pretty clean. they always have some sort of special and the pricing is pretty good compared to other salons as well. read more

From 5 Star to Zero Loved this place, for the most part, the girls are still great. Few stinkers at times, but the store has an extremely high turnover. This makes for a poor experience. Not sure what the owner is thinking, but month-to-month pricing and membership are getting ridiculous. I was on the highest membership w/red light therapy added on. No less than $100 monthly. I like the stand up tanning bed and the red light was stand up too, w/bonus toning vibration. AWESOME!! With infinite wisdom, the owner removed the red light and replaced it with NOTHING! It's literally a fairly empty storage room. Square footage loss of income. I bumped my package down, they ended up owing me a small credit, which took MONTHS to receive. Not even sure I actually got it. I stopped my membership, which is a ridiculous 30 day notice. No one tells me you can freeze it if you're traveling for an extended period, mostly because of the high turnover. Their failure to retain staff equates to you losing money. Since my work/travel schedule flexes (and I still hadn't been informed of freezing accounts), I begin to pay for a month of stand up tanning here and there. Charged the same thing the random months I've done this. Went in a few days ago, price DOUBLED. What???? Ummm, no. So I talk to the new girl, sweet, but completely lacking the ability to even try to retain a customer. Seriously, no effort. I'm literally in your store w/credit card in my hand, and no attempt to work with me. No "let me see if I can swing a discount, apply a coupon (specifically asked), nothing. I point out that before they removed the red light, the revenue generated from my membership was no less that $1,200/yr. Because the owner failed to advertise the enormous benefits of Red Light Therapy on their blank wall (right of products) and pulled the RLT, wasting valuable square footage for what amounts to a fairly empty storage room, my revenue stream went down to less than $200/yr. And now, because the price for monthly doubled, it has dwindled to ZERO/yr. Right down the road is My Resort Tanning, offering WELL ADVERTISED red light therapy for cheaper than I was paying before, with all the same tanning features, spray or booth. Plus a few other cool things to try out. In reality, I am actually thanking Celebrity Tanning corporate for their greed and inefficiency, because I found a better spot, more affordable, with more options. Corporate idiocy at its finest. Recently switched from Palm Beach Tan to here a month ago and love the customer service- especially Delaney who is genuinely the nicest and helped me out a lot. Celebrity Tanning is one of the best tanning salons that I have been to. I have been to a few of the locations around the Scottsdale/Tempe area and they have all been great! Drove out of our way to this particular salon to have my 17 yr old daughter spray tan for prom this weekend. We didn't know she was required to have a hard copy identification in order to make an account. We had her verified school ID on her phone but the not so stellar and quite rude manager "Delaney" made it a point not to accept the school identification ( states her name, birthdate, school year & photograph) along with myself standing at my daughter's side. So ridiculous..... it's a spray tan!! Which makes me concerned what the heck is it a spray tan? Are they toxic for 16yrs and younger but okay for adults? So frustrating!! Well... so much for this place. I'll pull my 2 year membership I've been paying & be sure to tell my friends and family to try another salon because there are PLENTY to choose from! Good job manager.... keep up that nasty attitude & see how many jobs you keep for the long haul. Or better yet... how many more customers you can ward off! read more

I'm writing to update my review from 5 to 1 star because I came back to renew my tanning package today and was told (after 5 years of being a customer) that I can no longer buy tanning packages and must sign up for a monthly membership. Due to this decision, I'm now returning to Sunchain, which is a further drive for me, but worth it to not add yet another revolving credit card monthly fee to my budget. I'm extremely disappointed that this is the way these owners treat customers after so many years of patronizing their business. And may I add I am a monthly spray tan member so I am already paying them a monthly fee for that. I guess it's not enough. Even gyms will typically grandfather in longtime customers when they change their fees. Advice to anyone looking to buy tanning packages: this business is now membership only. I suppose getting no money is better than the $90 they were getting from me several times throughout the year. read more

I am appalled with the customer service. I went in to cancel my membership and it never ended up being cancelled so I was charged again. I called to speak to a manager and the girl I spoke with said she would call me back...she never did, I had to call in again to speak with her. I was told she would contact corporate to issue the refund. The refund never issued my bank account so I called again, mistakes happen I know I too work in customer service. So I simply call back to see if there was something they could do the manager, Marissa was apologetic and gave me corporate number. I called and left a voicemail and waited two days before I called again. I called again and no answer, left another voicemail and waited for a response...still no call back. I called the salon again and spoke with Marissa, she said she was going to call one of the girls at corporate on her cell phone while I was on the phone, she didn't answer. I was told by Marissa she would text her to call me ASAP...two days later, still no call back...still no refund. I called corporate again today and once again got the voicemail. I don't expect a call back either. I am very upset because I keep getting the run around about a refund that should be very simple. Worst customer service. read more

I have had several bad experiences at this location. The employees are either not knowledgeable or not on the same page with each other and the information of each package they offer. I have to remind the employees every single time I get a spray tan of the deal I receive on the spray tans with the tanning package I pay for monthly. Either they are not aware of it, or they just try to overcharge every time. There are a couple very welcoming and nice girls working there, but the majority are extremely rude, have no people skills whatsoever, and do not treat returning customers very well. I have been turned away after walking in 15 minutes before closing time, and being told the last tan is served at 8:45. The time was 8:45 on my phone, and the employee replied their computer said 8:46. Heaven forbid you have to help a customer one minute past 8:45! The service here is absolutely terrible. I will be canceling my membership and never returning. Please hire employees that care about keeping good customers and better service. read more
