I wish I could give UpTech Computers a rating LOWER than 1. I took my computer to them to remove…read morea virus ($49 virus removal service). I took my computer to the Orange Blossom Trail location in Orlando Florida. They promised to have my computer back to me the next day. The next day I received a phone call from them telling me that it wasn't a virus; my hard drive had failed and I would need to put a new hard drive in the computer. Had I not had a warranty on the computer I would have let them do it - and paid them way more than the $49 I expected to pay. FORTUNATELY I had a warranty and told them I'd come pick up my computer -- they then told me they had sent my computer to another location - so I could drive to Altamonte to get it. I was furious. I had taken it to OBT, I expected to pick it up at OBT. They said if I wanted it back at OBT I'd have to wait an additional day. My college intern told me her boyfriend was very computer literate and I should at least let him take a look at it to be sure it really did have a failed hard drive as the warranty would not cover a virus. The MOMENT he turned the computer on he said it definitely was NOT a failed hard drive - it was a virus. He (a college student) took my computer home and had the virus removed by the next day. I'm sure by this narrative of my experience with UpTech Computers you know how I feel about them. Had I had time on my hands I would have picketed their establishment.

I took my wife Iphone 4 to them on East colonial near to Bumby Ave. The store manager and a tech…read moreguy (tech A) told me it cost $55 to fix a broken screen. I said ok and they gave me a receipt for the request. At that night, another tech guy (tech B) from other branch(Orange Blossom Trail) called me and said it was not $55 to fix the broken screen and rather $65 and told me all kinds of nonsense excuses to talk me into paying $65 plus tax. Therefore, I said absolutely no and asked him to contact the company boss to see if he could give me a deal and also told the tech B not to fix it. It was totally their fault and mistake that they told me the wrong amount of the fee. Next day, I got a phone call from tech A and he said this and that but I told him to ask his boss if the boss could give me a deal. After that, tech A did not call me back. In the meantime, I found a better deal from a store further down to east from Uptech and the guy at the store offered me $60 with tax and said it would take 20 minutes whereas the Uptech guy said it would take almost a week.. However, without my consent, tech B already replaced the broken screen by a new(only literally) but very cheap part. I was vey upset and went to the OBT store to see what was happening. As expected, the tech B made all kinds of excuses and almost forced me to pay $69.23 because he said he could not take the new part out of the phone which was already done. As far as the service quality and qualification of technicians are concerned, these people in Uptech are the most unprofessional and the clumsiest guys that I have ever met in my life. It seems they are well-trained to make all kinds plausible excuses and to pass the buck to a customer once they find that they make any blamable mistake. If you have lots of tolerance toward these types of people, then go ahead and ask them to fix yours. However, kindly beware that they may change a fee on their own like the way they did to me. In addition, as it can be expected (i.e. as usual from those kinds of unreliable people, the quality of the screen part they carried and used to fix my wife's iphone was extremely poor. it changes the color of the screen very bad by an angle of view while my Iphone 4 does not do by that. I do understand that I am totally ripped off. -_- I don't even want to spare one star for them.

Also thank you to the general manager Alex with helping me with the purchase as well. A great and friendly team this best buy location has! I will definitely be back.

Various models were randomly placed, not matching the labels in the aisle. I could not find the shaver I was looking for, so I gave up. I also tried looking for a screen protector for my pixel phone, but most of them were for newer versions and models. I tried looking for a clerk to help me, but all looked busy. I gave up on that as well. The only thing we bought was a toner cartridge for my mom's printer, which was at the regular price. Checkout didn't take too long, as there wasn't much of a line. The person who handled the checkout was friendly. This best buy might be getting old and may need a renovation. At least for the shavers, it looked unkempt. My dad and I were about to go away empty handed, but at least we got the printer toner. The millennia mall area seems to have better selection and value, so I would shop there instead. Best to check their site first and their app before going to the store.
