Longview Letdown We love Australia and Australians so please do not let this one blemish color your view of the country! It is extraordinary. My husband and I traveled on our second trip to Australia visiting the Western and Southern portions of the country. In all cases except at Longview Vineyards, we experienced warmth and hospitality. As Canadians we definitely feel a closeness with our friends down under...Longview Vineyards is the exception... On February 28, 2026, we received confirmation from Longview Vineyards/Booking.com of our reservation for a two-night stay commencing March 15. We had made the reservation from Canada and left an email address and mobile telephone number as contact. We received several messages from Longview Vineyards on the email address confirming our reservation. The international number and email address which Longview and Booking.com were given had worked flawlessly for all accommodations and restaurants across Australia and previously from Canada. It had also worked flawlessly for Longview Vineyards to book the reservation and to communicate with them on an ongoing basis, except for March 15. Fascinating! On March 15, 2026, we were flying into Adelaide from Perth. We advised Longview Vineyards that we may be late. After two bounce backs, I got a "green" confirmation. The transaction payment for our stay had already been processed on March 11, 2026 and we received a confirmation on the email address provided. We arrived at Longview Vineyards at ~ 1900 h on March 15, I could not find any paper copy of check in details. I walked around the accommodations and checked all doors. It was locked up tight. I went to the wine sheds at the back and they were also locked up. I phoned three times using the international mobile phone which Longview Vineyards had on file and each time I left a message at the cellar door voice mail where the call was routed. I did not receive any emails from Longview Vineyards or telephone calls. We were extremely disappointed. We drove back to Adelaide staying at the Pullman (a delightful hotel) for the night. The next morning at 0925h at the Pullman I received a message from Longview Vineyards. We were advised via this email that the Longview team could not reach us on the email or international telephone number. We found this to be unbelievable as the message had come into the same email, they stated they could not reach us on, and that we had used to make the reservation and were continuing to use across Australia and the Barossa. We drove out the next morning and spoke to a young woman who did not identify herself. She stuck with the story I am assuming she had emailed to us stating that there was no responsibility or accountability for the situation from the Longview Vineyards team. She offered us a room for Tuesday night as compensation, but I advised her that we already had reservations further up the Barossa for Tuesday night. I was frustrated by the lack of responsibility that Longview Vineyards took for the situation and requested a full refund. The young woman assured me that it would take up to a week as they would have to contact Booking.com. On March 20, 2026 I was advised by Longview Vineyard, I am assuming by the same young woman that and I quote "While we acknowledge that the situation is unfortunate, it did not occur due to any fault on our part. To dispute your stay or request a refund, we encourage you as advised on Monday to contact booking.com as we are unable to process this on our end." The last part of this statement is false as the young woman did not advise me to contact booking.com AND that Longview Vineyards would not look after it. On March 22, 2026 I received a message, again using the same email as always, from Kate Walters, CEO of Longview Vineyards and I quote "the check in times were provided in advance of arrival and it is important that these are taken into account then planning when planning your stay. We do feel there is shared responsibility in how this situation unfolded. That said and in good faith and as gesture of goodwill we are prepared to offer you a 50% refund of the $488.23 you paid, less a commission." I was requested to provide the SAME credit card which had I had been told by the previous Longview Vineyards staff could not be accessed to process the partial refund. I declined. I have contacted Booking.com TWICE and received no response except to provide feedback to their customer complaint team on dealing with customer issues. My husband and I continued our month-long holiday to Australia using the same international phone and email to make reservations at accommodations and restaurants. Both methods of communication worked flawlessly, the outlier was Longview Vineyards.

We also dropped a mention that we were thinking of going to Kangaroo Island, only to find out that the helpful lady talking us through wine country grew up on the island, so in came even more recommendations! We also picked up a great flat-pack esky bag (I'm sure there's a better word for this thing) from the info centre, and my only wish is that we'd gone there first, because then we could have used some of the discount vouchers it came with (we'd already gone to some of the local stores that had discounts! IT WAS TOO LATE FOR US!). Also, SA tourism has these adorable little touring routes on tear-off A4 paper... I took them all, even though we weren't going to make it to nearly even half of the suggested routes, just because they were so darn cute and I wanted to imagine going to everywhere listed. Maybe I will one day. But until then, ONWARD THROUGH HILLS AND VALLEYS AND ISLANDS! Thanks for your guidance, folks!

We were shown around the city and given lots of fascinating background information. We saw and heard about Adelaide history and passed by several places of interest. We stopped in to see the newly renovated Adelaide Oval then made our way up into the Adelaide Hills. The peak of Mt Lofty has a glorious view and we enjoyed that with a short stop. We then went on to Hahndorf. We had free time here to explore the main street, where there are shops, cafes and other things of German culture to investigate. Our schedule was managed very carefully and we left Hahndorf in good time to get back to the city as planned. Overall, this tour and our guide was excellent. I would recommend this tour and would definitely choose them for another tour in the future. Well done.

I used Adelaide Transport to organise a Hen's Day back in 2012 and they were the most helpful and…read morefairly affordable ones at the time. We were trying to keep costs as low as possible for everyone involved and for 9 people we paid $45 per head for a 6hour tour. This included picking us up at one location, and a double drop off at the end of the day. When I was explaining that we wanted to do a wineries tour they suggested we go the Mclaren Vale region as a lot of the wineries there don't have a cover charge for groups. They organised the itinerary and did all the bookings with the wineries involved. All we had to do was show up and pay the money. We did stumble into one hiccup when we arrived at Edkhidna Wines, we were told we had to pay $5 per person and there was a wait, even though we had a booking. Michael, our wonderful driver suggested that we head to the pub for lunch and that's just what we did. He even went out of his way to go down the road and hamburgers for those who wanted them. Overall we had a fantastic day and I got to know about a lot of wineries in my local area that I didn't know existed. If you are thinking about organising a tour, I can't recommend them enough. They even called me a week after to profusely apologise for the mix up with Ekhidna, without pushing on the blame either. They really do have a fantastic rapport with the wineries.

Equipment is of good quality, check the departure times as they get adjusted for the weather forecast daily. Maps were clear and we managed to get around the majority of the shipwrecks and mangroves in the three hour rental period. And, we saw five dolphins within very close distance! The feedback from the guided tour was also excellent, with lots of knowledge on the mangroves and bush tucker. Great for the less experienced kayakers, families and those new to the area. And, they provided complimentary mozzie repellent on this tour, which is much needed!

But the went on the tour from Torrens Island to seee dolphins and search for shipwrecks. They said plenty of pods of dolphins swam very nearby and they got very close to interesting shipwrecks and got some awesome photos. The area is very sheltered, calm and lots of magroves. The kayaks were single and doubles and the guide was very informative, friendly, experienced and told them lots of things about their own area they didn't know. There's toilets, lawn and a viewing platform/boardwalk area alongside the dock. Mum said anyone of any age and fitness level can take part, and they will all learn something. And if you are an RAA member, you can get 10% off.

I'm writing this review purely for selfish reasons. I want to encourage Tom to run more wine hikes…read morein Adelaide! Initially I thought wine and hiking in Adelaide go together about as well as running the City to Bay with beer stops along the way instead of Gatorade. But I am a convert. Not only that I am now a raving fan. Tom from Head in the Clouds wines has taken this concept from his passion for hiking and wine and smooshed it together like a good grape crush. You start at "base camp" over the first wine tasting for the morning and proceed to not only hike a summit but stop and drink different SA wines and varietals from some of Tom's favourites along the way. Everyone is encouraged to bring some snacks for sharing along the way and the whole 3 hours turns into one big progressive wine tasting. This is such a refreshingly unique concept which showcases wine, SA's landscapes and naturally creates a bond between you and those walking with you. Our tour did go overtime by an hour or so, so it was a long day and you will want to allow time to take it all in. You will also want to have a fairly good level of fitness to enjoy something like this as the hikes (although short) were steep, but it did leave us with a spectacular view over Adelaide that you wouldn't otherwise get. This was the first of (hopefully) many tours, all I have to do now is try and convince Tom to host more over Summer and Autumn. Feel free to join in my petitioning!

Another outstanding day delightfully enjoyed by all - generally superb wines to taste (there was one only which was best described as "interesting"), scrumptious picnic foods and snacks, fabulous scenery and a lovely group of interested and like minded devotees of life's simple pleasures. Head in the Cloud Wine Hikes are so special - Tom is an energetic, enthusiastic and slightly hyper winemaker/curator who loves wine and hiking. Do yourself a favour and get on board for the next one or two - even better drag some out-of-towners along and dare to reveal another of Adelaide's truly wonderful hidden gems.

It is such a shame and disgrace that in today's world where people of different races and backgrounds have the capacity to and are traveling around the World that staff are still allowed and covered by their colleagues and organizations to be racist and discriminative to their PAYING customers. This is definitely a bad reflection on Flight Centre as a business. When I tried to explain to her that my ticket says that breakfast will be served and hence I would like to make the request for a GF meal, she was absolutely rude saying she did not like the way I spoke to her. I agree my accent was not similar to hers, however that does qualify her to be discriminative. I am a paying customer and there is a professional decorum that a business has to adopt for ALL their paying customers. That was definitely not the case and she just put me on hold and transferred me to her colleague. Her colleague Sarah Churchett answers the phone and when I mentioned that Jade was rude and discriminative, she insisted that was not the case till I reminded her that it was not for her to make that decision, as I was on the receiving end. Sarah then continued to tell me that Jade had issues that she dealing with on a personal level.and that was why she spoke in that manner. I again had to remind Sarah that may the case and I respect personal struggles of any individual, however that should not be projected on PAYING customers. staff should be trained to speak respectfully to ALL paying customers, regardless of their race, accent or background

She used to work at another store but I have followed her to this store to book my families holidays! She is professional and friendly and always happy to assist.
