I've gotten my glass replaced on the IPhone 13 Pro Max here twice now (front and back glass). They threw in a screen protector on my phone during my service without an additional cost. I also wanted to replace my battery two years ago but Gilbert advised that the health wasn't that low for it to make much difference. Fast forward to my phone dying at 20% out of nowhere and he replaced it. Now it's a 4yr old phone operating with 100% battery health. Bottom Line: Quick and professional! I typically replace all the of screens on my phones but i was super pressed for time and I had just slammed my phone into the door of the car.... somehow. This place is pretty close to where I live so I wandered down there on my lunch break and asked if they could repair the phone that day. The guy behind the counter took my phone and said that it would be done in 45 minutes. What? Ok cool. I went and had lunch and came back and the phone was done! Excellent. After a few weeks, the phone had started to develop some weird tendencies. I can't say enough good things about CellTek AND its owner and founder Gilbert Ortiz! The charging port on my iPhone had become flaky. Charging would start and stop randomly or with small movements of the lightning cord in the iPhone's charging port. An iPhone repair person who had recently replaced my failing battery took a look at the problem, said it was beyond his skill level and enthusiastically recommended Mr Ortiz and CellTek. In recommending Mr Ortiz and CellTek that repair person covered himself in glory. Gilbert was everything the battery repairman told me and then some. I began by looking at CellTek's website (CellTek.us) and was immediately struck by the sincerity, old-school integrity and honesty that jumped off the page in Mr Ortiz' "About Us" section. At age 67, I've seen my share of promises and pitches, but this was different. I was so struck by the simple, transparent honesty and goodness of Mr Ortiz' words...and what they said about him. No glitz. No flash. Just a straight ahead commitment to do his best for those of us whose iPhones were about to spend some time in the ICU (Intensive Cellphone Unit), to do it at a fair price, and a promise to see the job through to its completion!! It is sadly way too rare to run across business people like this anymore. Gilbert Ortiz is a dinosaur this way...almost extinct. Almost. But not quite. Below are some quotations taken from his "About Us" page on his site. I can personally verify that he lives by these words...his words... "At Celltek we pride ourselves on providing the best possible service at the most competitive prices." "We use quality parts and always offer a 90 day warranty on all of our repairs." "We always stand by our work." (that was in italics for emphasis) ​ "Honesty is one of the things that sets us apart from other repair shops. We always tell you exactly what your phone needs and how much it will cost...The quoted price you get from us the first time is the one we stand behind. We never charge you any more than the written quoted price we give you." ​ ​I can personally attest to the fact that Mr. Ortiz honors all of these commitments and principles. My repair was not straightforward. It required some tricky soldering work at the micro level on the motherboard of the phone. He told me it was quite possible he wouldn't be able to get it done and that I'd be looking at a decision about whether or not to spend and send the phone out for repair. He said he would have a go at it in my case and, I'm not surprised, he did a great job. When I noticed the sound on the phone being a little muffled after that, I called him up and he had me bring the phone back to him. He did additional work to (successfully) fix the muffled sound and didn't charge anything for that. He absolutely could have and should have charged since it was a separate repair. Gilbert Ortiz & CellTek are examples of an increasingly rare style and approach to running a business. An approach that is ultimately fully centered on the customer and resolving his/her problem. It is a style marked by top notch technical prowess married to genuine kindness and concern and a determination to make sure the whole experience, not just the repair, is great. And fair. It was a pleasure taking my phone to him. I'm glad to see he has a steady clientele, but you should go and see him too if you're having any problems with your phone. I mean... it's almost worth dropping your phone onto a brick just for the pleasure of taking it to him and having him fix it. Okay...maybe I overstepped a bit with that idea, but that's how good Gilbert Ortiz and CellTek are. Obviously, I am pleased to give my highest, highest recommendation. During week 1 of UCSB, I dropped my phone and the screen went black. I first went to Celltek and they fixed my phone for $120; however, after 2-3 weeks the phone screen broke again. Thinking the 90day warranty they have would work, I went back to ask for a fix. They denied me of this and said no refund nor fix will be issued. Thinking it was my fault, I went to a different company at LA today and got it fixed. The person who fixed it told me that the people at Celltek did a very poor job at fixing the phone. Furthermore, unlike Celltek, they have a lifetime warranty and fixed it perfectly for $100. Additionally, they informed me that if an issue like this happened with them, they would fully cover it. For all of you out there, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else to get your devices repaired. This place is terrible and will steal your money while overcharging you and doing a poor job. Not having a phone during college/work is definitely tough; however, it is more terrible to just spend $120 and have it go to complete waste. read more

I live out of state and my elderly mother needed a new battery for her cell phone, which is non-consumer replaceable. I also wanted her to be safe in this Covid-19 era. I emailed Gilbert on a Sunday and explained my predicament. I heard back from him immediately, gave the phone information and he ordered the battery. I would recommend Celltek. They replaced my broken screen (android LG6) without a hitch. I originally put out a Yelp quote request and received a handful of quotes. The Celltek owner, Gilbert, responded right away. It was not the cheapest quote but within range (and actually ended up being the cheapest in the end!!). I followed up with another company first but quickly realized that while they were a larger company and quote was a few dollars cheaper, they were not super helpful and directed me to follow up with the local shop (which had some bad reviews). My gut (and his good reviews) told me to go with Celltek. Gilbert is professional and quick to respond and answer questions. My phone did require ordering the screen (this was the case with all local shops), which required a deposit. I did have to show up in person to give the deposit and whish that could have been done by providing a model number or something over the phone or online. When I did show up, the shop was closed (holiday hours) and when I returned, it was staffed by someone else since Gilbert was on vacation out of the country. Even so, the guy quickly got a message response from the owner and took my deposit. (So, still not sure why I had to go in person for this). I had to wait a few weeks until he got back and ordered the part. This was fine since my phone still worked despite the shattered screen. I made an appointment for the actual repair so I was able to be without my phone for less than an hour during my lunch break. Very nice. Parking is limited in the area. I squeezed into a busy neighboring business's lot (which is legit as you can get lunch while your phone is fixed). I applaud Gilbert's quick responses to my Yelp messages!! I hate to knock his small business for the delays. I would give five stars if there had been someone available to keep things moving smoother in his absence. It cannot be easy to manage a shop as the owner and main tech person. But, at least there was someone there who was also helpful and friendly.
