They also have a groomsmen room where you can put your stuff in and change, etc... They have three very clean bathrooms as well. It is directly opposite "the beast" (IHFC). They typically will have food trucks outside to grab a bite to eat/ drink or some coffee. If not then there are plenty of shuttles that will take you here and anywhere else you want to go.

The downstairs area is the main music hall, with a legit stage, a large bar, and plenty of open room. The second level features a cocktail and whiskey bar, along with a separate lounge style room filled with leather couches and chairs. The third and fourth levels both offer outdoor space, with the third floor having its own bar and the fourth providing additional seating and city views. It's a great mix of spaces for pretty much anyone. The music really stole the show this evening. I arrived early and snapped a few photos before the crowd rolled in. Dear Sister rocked tonight. What an excellent cover band! I'll be seeing them often whenever they roll into town. The only thing holding this from being a 5 star night was the service. It was decent but noticeably slow even before the crowd showed up. Once things got busy, it became very hard to grab a drink or get anyone's attention, which is typical for a packed place but still worth noting. Overall, this is a super fun spot with great music and tons of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy. One staff member told us 750 guests were expected, another said over 900. Either way, it was a ton of people. Every single room in the Emerywood clubhouse was filled. There were long lines for the buffets, one set up in each hallway. The parking lot was full, so people were parking on the grass and in the street. I've never seen it so busy! I thought we're still supposed to be in a recession. The clubhouse was decked out for the holidays. A big "Happy Holidays" ice sculpture with changing lights was set up inside the entrance. At the ends of either hallway were two giant, well-decorated Christmas trees. Smaller Christmas trees were positioned in various rooms. A group of Christmas Carolers walked around and sang. They were dressed in traditional English attire and sounded great. Santa Claus was also present and he was quite an authentic-looking one, from beard to costume. The kiddies LOVED him. I almost wanted to get a picture with him, but I didn't want to stand in line with all the little munchkins. Because it was so crowded, the tables were really packed in, especially in the grill room. This made it difficult to maneuver in certain spots. Maybe they can improve upon this next Christmas. I'm not sure if they expected this many people to show up. I don't remember all of the foods, but some of the spread included three different kinds of salads, casseroles, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, and freshly sliced prime rib, ham, and turkey. The dessert bar consisted of a variety of pies and ice cream. Pecan pie FTW. Generally, the food was good, as it normally is. I'm pretty sure the staff was at full force on Monday night. During our stay, Courtyard High Point met the standard I expected of the Courtyard brand. We stayed in Room 419 on the 4th floor (top floor). It had a king bed and a sofa bed. For four nights, I spent 82,654 United Airlines MileagePlus award miles (cleared out my account) plus $419.96. I booked through United's website / United Hotels. I found this hotel through United because I was trying to use up all my miles. As an American Express Platinum card member, I have Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status without meeting any stay requirements. That said, I didn't notice nor took advantage of any of the Gold Elite benefits. I was supposed to receive a "welcome gift of points upon arrival" (none were posted to my account, which I had linked to the reservation), late checkout up to 2pm (didn't need it), and a complimentary upgrade to an enhanced room at check-in (didn't happen); subject to availability. Standard check-in and check-out times are 3pm and 12pm, respectively. As a Gold Elite, I'm also supposed to get faster free in-room Wi-Fi. I didn't get that either. I just connected to the standard free Wi-Fi, which was fine / usable, but I would've preferred faster internet. I called the hotel ahead of time to verify details and spoke with Toni. She was wonderful. Super nice and a shining example of excellent hospitality and customer service. Courtyard High Point is lucky to have her. The other staff that we interacted with were polite and professional. Our room was very spacious. It had an unusually long and wide entry area / hallway leading to the bed and sitting area; ideal for spreading out our luggage. We had a view of the old Oak Hollow Mall and parking lot. Part of the mall we could see is now the Roy B Culler Jr Senior Center, named after the former mayor of High Point. I went to his house when I was a kid and saw his elaborate model train set, but I digress. The bathroom was spacious as well. Outstanding shower water pressure. We had a microwave, mini fridge, and Keurig machine. Unfortunately, there was no free coffee in the lobby so we had to rely on Keurig coffee each morning (not our preferred coffee). Bummer. A lot of hotels in this tier offer fresh, hot, free coffee in the lobby. Cleaning service was every other day. There was one day when I had to go downstairs and ask for more Keurig K-Cup pods. By the way, for really good coffee in High Point, I recommend DeBeen Espresso: https://www.yelp.com/biz/debeen-espresso-high-point During our stay, we went there for coffee too. The couch (sofa bed) in our room looked dingy and grossed us out a bit. I liked the bed and thought it was pretty comfy, but it wasn't the comfiest among hotel beds we've slept in recently. The nightstand USB and power outlets didn't stick well, so they didn't work reliably and charge all of our devices (kind of annoying to charge a phone on the desk on the other side of the room). Overall, the room amenities were OK. Therefore, the immediate area around the hotel is very quiet. The nearby Target is a plus. I remember when the High Point University building next door used to be a Circuit City. From making sure we had the welcome bags from the wedding couple to ensuring our check-in was flawless, this Courtyard was a treat for the weekend. -Beautifully decorated with great color palette. Big TV to watch some college ball while drinking wine. Really enjoyed the Tom Gore Chardonnay too. They had two size options too which was nice. -comfortable room. Very clean and great black out curtains! Frig in room so we could store some waters and snacks. -Very friendly and courteous staff, especially our bartender at The Bistro! It get very busy there and we never had to wait very long. -Check-out : there were two charges on my bill that did not belong to me. The front desk manager took the time to research the bill and found out that the room number looked like my number but it was a different signature so she removed the charges from my room and made sure the true owner had the charges put on their bill. It was nice to have that done on site rather than attempt to do it long distance. Much appreciated. Excellent stay and centrally located. Would highly recommend this Courtyard!
