Frustrating Last-Minute Changes without Consent I'm reviewing the from desk staff scheduling appointments for Dr. González, not the doctor. I requested an appointment with Dr. González, but was seen by another doctor. For a test, I asked for a late afternoon slot, but they scheduled it at 1:00 pm. I arranged transportation for 12:30 pm, only to be called and told at noon that same day that my appointment was at 11:45 am, and they denied offering 1:00 pm slots, despite my son getting one the same test a week priir. This reflects dishonesty and unprofessionalism. I switched to another gastroenterologist with a technician available at my preferred 4:30 pm time. read more

Dr Gonzalez is a great doctor. He and the rest of the medical team are professional and know what they are doing. I've been a patient for many years. The front office staff is also nice. However I haven't seen the doctor for like three appointments already. The nurse practitioner is the one I've been seeing. Today she was totally uninterested in what I had to say and wanted to schedule me for a colonoscopy. When I asked a few questions, she became impatient and was rude. So I left. By the way, the waiting room is a disaster with over 40 people waiting. There is one small bathroom for all those people. I waited for more than an hour just to see this rude NP. They totally double-book. And the parking is the pits! Looking for another GI professional who cares about their patients. read more

I do not recommend this place. My dad had a colonoscopy and he got a call to make an appointment for the findings. Of course we worried and asked for details and the girl on the phone named Luz gave us attitude and asked "would you really want to know if he has cancer over the phone?" Extremely unprofessional, unsympathetic and careless. I understand if the doctor has certain policies but the minimum thing to do is give some peace of mind to their patients. read more

Terrible experience. After having gone through the colonoscopy prep the day before/that morning, I arrived at the office at 10:50 for an 11:10 appointment. I finally had my procedure at 330 pm after waiting over four hours for my procedure- starving, dehydrated and exhausted. The office is very poorly managed as I see all the reviews here agree with me. Reception had me waiting 2 hours with a emergency appointment, because they were trying to establish my co-pay. I showed them on my insurance app the providers name and the exact co pay. Moreover it's something that can be billed or discussed LATER. Considering I needed to see a provider on a urgent need. Let your patient be seen and we can always handle insurance AFTERWARDS. Common sense. In healthcare myself there were multiple interactions I did not support. It seems they have their patients come in to wait hours just to receive their test results. Moreover I witnessed a nurse/tech be unaware of ADA guidelines, when a patient needed an escort. The waiting room was packed, social distancing was not respected. Steer clear. read more

I'm really disappointed with my visit. My mother came to do it a colonoscopy. First at all, her appointment was at 11:15 am. Enter to prepare for the procedure at 1:17 pm. Is very disrespectful the attitude of the nurse ( I think she is, her name is Christine). I was waiting for my mother to take her purse and she said to me you need to wait outside. I understand that I must to wait outside, but there is a nice way to ask. If Christine know that the word please is more polite, will make another different. Kudos for the person that work in a procedures check-in, is very nice, professional. Even when enter no bed available, is an a shame that doesn't have a logistic and previous preparation, in order maybe don't accept many patient if doesn't have enough bed. I arrived at 11.00 am to fill the usual required paperwork, and left around 1.35 pm without seeing the doctor, as there was no assurance when they would see me. I decided to leave as there are no considerations for the patients having to wait for hours. Do not recommend at all this organization for service....see another one... read more

I had German Gonzalez as my doctor. Did an endoscopy. I could not rate him higher enough. He made me feel at ease during the entire procedure. The lady that administered my IV did it so painless that you barely even notice it. These people are highly trained and are very professional, and I felt cared for every step of the way. I know the reviews are bad because sometimes things take longer than what you expect. But would I do it again? Definitely. Highly recommend this place if you're having stomach issues. My wife has lived with gastro issues for years and thanks to doctor Avila she felt comfortable to go through and endoscopy to determine the cause of her issues . This office added $155 to my bill statement for a 10 second conversation with the nurse practitioner telling me the labs were not complete (I gave the lab the order printout that came from this office), this appointment wasted my PTO. After discussing with this office, I was told that they are allowed to charge whatever amount they want. They took my blood pressure for $155. read more

And she didn't let me explain my comments about my issues. The worst in administrative management, I do not give less qualification because it does not exist. From August/8/ 2016 I did a procedure and I was charged in advance $150.00 for the anesthesia until my insurance paid the refund. My insurance paid the Center from the early days December / 2016, countless calls asking for my check, the billing department very disorganized justifying delays by a worker Marisley Noa, who first went on vacation and then left the Center, no one else could do her job. In the early days of February Maria told me that the order to make the check was already in the administrator's office. In so many calls I had never been able to speak to the administrator Mohamed who at the same time is the owner and does not seem to interest him the good service to his customers. This medical center far from being beneficial for your health can provoke a heat-attack or an ulcer for lifetime thanks to the bad administrative handling and inconsistent attention to the clients. Every time I have to call this office for my check I end up exhausted, with high blood pressure and headaches. You know what awaits you if you pay in advance in some procedure, you end up feeling scammed. read more

I had a a great experience at the offices of Center for Digestive Medicine. The staff is very accommodating, thorough and very nice to work with. Dr. Mark Avila provided me with excellent care from beginning to end. I started to see him when I began experiencing mild issues with my gallbladder. I was afraid of unnecessary surgery and we went through all the testing necessary since my symptoms were asymptomatic. In the end, he empowered me with the knowledge to to make the best decision for myself and when it was becoming more obvious that my gallbladder was the issue, he helped me expedite the already scheduled removal of my gallbladder so that I could have relief weeks sooner. Dr. Avila always takes the time to explain everything to you so you feel comfortable and has a great deal of empathy for his patients. You always feel like you're not only in very capable but caring hands between himself and his team. read more
