On January 28, 2027 I went to the Center For Hearing in Huntsville Alabama where I had purchased hearing aids previously. My old aids were not helping much and I hoped that technology had improved the latest models. There they tested my hearing and recommended a Starkey Genesis AI 12. They set up a pair to address my hearing loss and I tried them out in the office. They seemed to be an improvement over my old aids and I was thrilled. I said that I would like to buy them though their price was approximately $3700.00 dollars. When we were finishing up the technician said he needed to keep my old aids and I asked why. He replied that they donate them to people who need hearing aids but can't afford them. I complied and gave him my old aids. As I made payment I was asked to sign a full page "explanation and receipt". I foolishly signed it without fully reading it. I wore the aids continuously for 16 days and found that they were no more help to me than my previous ones. I called them and made an appointment and took the new aids back. There I was told that they do not accept returns at all and that I should look at the receipt that I had signed. I suggest that anyone reading this shop elsewhere. read more

Poor Customer Service. Purchased a Starkey sound box for the TV from them. I was told that they didn't sell many but their customers liked them. I was told to just follow the instructions in the box as they had little hands on experience with setting one up. I attempted to set it up but the written instructions were not very detailed. I was able to get the Starkey tech support phone number from them. The office was then closed for 2.5 weeks over the holidays. I contacted Starkey but was only able to get so far because the provider needed to also do a few things. The Center for Heating neglected to tell me this. Also, I left two messages for the Center. Never returned over the holidays and as of 10 January still not returned. I would never use this office again. I have found another provider of Starkey products and received more service from them in 45 minutes then ever from the Center concerning the Starkey TV box. read more

I went in for the free hearing test. I was told I needed hearing aids, which i knew was true. Mike Ryan was the person I was talking to. I told him four times the type of insurance I had. Each time he said he had never heard of it. But he act as though he looked it up. He told me it was an online company and I would have to order the hearing aids and pay full price when I ordered them. So I made the mistake of believing him and agreed to purchase from Center for Hearing. I told him what plan I could possibly afford so he set every thing up. After I got my first statement it wasn't what I agreed to so I called him. He said they didn't have a plan I signed up for. Later I called my insurance company and explained everything he had told me. The rep said that he had taken advantage of me because they have worked with Center for Hearing for years and they know all the requirements for their plan. They said I should demand my money back and use another company. Of course they told me they didn't have a return policy. So I lost my $1000 from my insurance company plus got stuck with a plan with interest. The only thing I got from the ordeal was Mr. Gant agreed to provide the 480 batteries I would have gotten from my insurance company. So my advise would be make sure you know all details from your insurance company and don't use Mike Ryan!!! read more

I was looking for hearing aids that I could control from my iPhone. I called and set up an appointment for the free hearing test. I was impressed with the I audible frequency range and cognitive speech recognition tests. I was a bit surprised by the $5,000 price, but the audiologist had a very convincing story about how Apple was key in development of the app. I asked about the trial period and satisfaction guarantee. He said "We've had no complaints". I agreed to finance the purchase, it was turned down. I took the risk and gave them a try. The instruments would not maintain paring to my phone and just didn't function repeatedly. First I was told one of the earpieces didn't have the latest software update, then it was bad battery, then they would have to send them in the the manufacturer. Every malfunction was miraculously fixed with no explanation of the cause. When I said I wanted my money back I was told I'd have to talk to his boss. Two weeks later the boss returned from vacation and upgraded the hearing aids. Same problems persisted and when I asked for a refund, Mr. Gant said "We don't do that". I have filed a complaint with the BBB and he is arguing the point, saying that I am the problem. Please have a satisfaction guarantee from a reputable company before making a sizable purchase such as this. read more

I finally admitted to myself that I needed to go for a hearing test even though I knew my hearing was not what it use to be. After doing extensive research I chose Center for Hearing. From the moment I called them and spoke with Sean to schedule my appointment I knew I made the right choice he was very sincere and helped me with questions I had for him. The day of my appointment the staff welcomed me and made me feel very comfortable. Now it was time for the hearing test and Mike Ryan was my specialist he was so patient with me answering all my questions and guiding me to the best hearing aids for my situation with them fitting into my budget as well. I could have saved plenty of time and money if I would have come here first in my search for a clinic that would give me a proper ear inspection using a state of the art otoscope (or at the very least sell me one for assurance purposes). From the very second they answered the phone to me exiting their building, they were the most compassionate, quick and professional health related business I have ever stepped foot in.
