After multiple trips to medicine drs, specialists, and emergency rooms, for heart palpitations, swelling in my extremities, extreme fatigue, and dizziness amongst other ailments - no MD was able to explain the cause and /or fix for my condition except to tell me I had long covid except Dr. Smith. He explained what the findings were for people with long covid, and what to test for. We did blood work and sure enough he found multiple issues including activated epstein barre, blood clotting, and the presence of lingering spike protein causing havoc in my body. I've been coming here for a couple of years now. The only review I saw on this place was a bad one from Google. But that review is from when the previous doctor owned the place. When I started coming here, there was old carpet and the paint was kind of subtle and boring. Nothing outside in the waiting area but chairs and some plants. He sold the practice to a doctor that he was training for a couple of years before he decided to retire. It's now under Dr. Smith & he's awesome. A lot has changed since he took over about 3 years ago. He has new wood floors and added a splash of color on the walls. The office seems more open with the shelves he installed over one of their Christmas vacations. A lot of things are on those shelves that make me wanna empty my pockets just so I can go home with all the goodies on there. Try the chocolate health bars in the front! I think it's the mocha one that tastes like candy! He also added free wi-fi AND tv's to the treatment rooms so you can watch Netflix or a movie during the treatments. Wi-fi signal reaches all the way to the rooms & is super fast. No lagging whatsoever. The password is posted on the front door so you can't miss it! He started selling some stuff that I learned he made himself including teas, hand sanitizers and travel kits. He has teas for respiratory issues, bone health, and even one that tastes like coffee. He has things out there from ozonated creams, healthy snacks and every woman's favorite thing to look at..... BEAUTY stuff! The receptionists are awesome as well. They always give reminder calls or e-mails to make sure we remember our appointments. They're always friendly on the phone and always so accommodating when I need my supplements refilled. They even go as far as bubble wrapping the glass bottles or giving me an ice pack for items that need to be kept cold until I get home. Parking is kinda iffy because they change the parking situation. There's a parking lot in the building, even more now since the Heights Drive-In closed. Certain holidays that he's still open for are the best because there's practically no one in the parking lot AND it's free. But regular days, your best bet is to go to the back parking lot. The girls give you validation stickers after your appointment with Dr. Smith so parking is free most times. Picking up supplements shouldn't take longer than the 10 minute grace period so I usually don't need a validation sticker for that. If you do end up paying, they only charge $1 for every half hour, So re-cap: 2 stars for the Doctor, 2 stars for the girls at the front & 1 star for the office. He really cares more about his patients than wanting to just take your money. He's helped me with many of my health issues & for that, I'm forever grateful. read more

Started coming to Center For Holistic Medicine about nine years ago seeking natural and holistic medical care. My M.D., at that time required me to take a certain medication daily that could potentially cause cancer and other side effects. I had heard over the years of naturopathic medicine and decided to make an appointment to check it out. A friend of mine was seeking two naturopaths and advised me to call this office. One reason is that the previous doctor and Dr. Smith use comprehensive blood tests to determine the best treatment(s) and/or supplements. The other naturopath my friend went to felt that the treatments and/or supplements were more of a "hit or miss." Both the previous doctor and Dr. Smith have done and continue to do an awesome job of addressing the root cause of my health issues and not only the symptoms. Many of the treatments I've received required multiple visits, which meant that I needed to be patient before seeing tangible results. All treatments and supplements recommended to me have improved my health in more ways than I could have ever expected! The only time I have gone to my M.D., is for routine checkups and blood tests. I always share my results with Dr. Smith who will make recommendations if needed. The office is always comfortable and pleasant. You will see some of the products offered displayed on shelves. One of my favorites is the "PurO3" lavender jojoba cream. The office carries a line of this oxygenated oils when cold becomes a cream. A little goes a long way and a bottle usually lasts me a couple of months. The cream is also great on cuts, scrapes and bug bites, because the oxygen speeds up the healing process. I highly recommend Dr. Kekoa Smith as a naturopathic doctor. I have been going to CFHM for over 20+ years and have learned so much from both Dr. Turetsky and Dr. Smith. The first thing I learned, was to trust. The second thing I learned was to be open to a new way of healing and being. My young son had asthma and I knew in my heart that the western medicine and steroids the pediatrician was giving him wasn't right. Dr. Smith bought Dr. John Turetsky's CFHM practice and received extensive training from Dr. Turetzky. Dr. Turetzky confided in me that he selected Dr. Smith to take over his practice because of Dr. Smith's impressive qualifications and that they had attended the same natural school of medicine in Portland. I have been treated by Dr. Smith for about 4 years now and agree with Dr. Turetsky's high opinion of him. I have been impressed with Dr. Smith's and the office staff's professionalism, Dr. Smith's knowledge and skills, and appreciate his calm and gentle method of treatment. My experience of health benefits from The Center For Holistic Medicine has only been utmost. Superb! I was unable to speak (at all) nor breathe very well due to a serious respiratory condition for a year and a half. That's right; I couldn't talk at all and could barely breathe for a whole year and a half! I had been to two respiratory specialists (pulmonologists); however, nothing (no medicine prescribed) could help return my ability to speak nor breathe very well. I was prescribed various types of asthma/bronchial/respiratory medications, yet nothing helped. I sought various alternative methods. And one did help. Yes...by God's grace, after a prayer session with my church elders and pastoral staff, I was finally able to speak and breathe freely! However, for the next seven years, my respiratory system was still weak and would have continual small bouts of sore or itchy throat and some difficulty breathing and laryngitis. I was referred to an ENT (ear, eye, nose, throat specialist), but that didn't help much. I then sought other alternative medicine with an acupuncturist. Each session with the acupuncturist was great and helped me breathe and speak comfortably; however, as soon as I stepped out into the street and a car passed by, the fumes from the car immediately exacerbated my lung condition and I could feel the pressure or pain in my chest and mucous would form filling my lungs, plus, I again would not be able to speak regularly. My voice would be soft and raspy...and each time I tried to speak, that effort alone would further exacerbate my lung condition. This was repeated for almost a year of acupuncture work. After the initial boost of better health (prayer) and then seven years of ongoing small bouts of respiratory challenges, I was introduced to the Center For Holistic Medicine. I went in on a Thursday and was told what to do and what to take. I did what the Doctor told me to do for three days. Lo and behold....on Saturday, I WAS ABLE TO TALK FREELY AND BREATHE WELL!!! I couldn't believe how I felt. Now, as soon as I feel some type of trigger to any of my respiratory system, I would take the natural-no-side-effect supplements and do the prescribed manual/health procedures, and I'd be able to freely breathe and speak with no obstacles.
