I was quickly hooked up to several IVs and constantly monitored for the next 18 hours. The staff at Franciscan Hospital, Munster was exceptional, my treatments were outstanding. I took my chances a made the appointment. I waited in the waiting room for about an hour there was someone else before I heard reschedule her appointment because she was also waiting a long time. I finally get called back. I waited in that room another 45 minutes than I went to the window and asked to reschedule. The clerk went into the room across from me and I could hear her tell the NP how long I've been waiting and she acted like she didn't even know. She was hanging out in the room next door the entire time! The clerk came out and said she'll be right with you, I explained I'll just schedule with someone else, she said it's okay she's coming out right now and she didn't. She wasn't even with a patient she was hanging out with her assistant. So I was like okay, I might as well see her. I wish I would have left, you could tell she has absolutely no experience. I feel like she was winging it, so disappointing. Her assist was very unprofessional just leaning against the counter, chewing like a horse. Each time NP Paris asked her if she documented something she would respond "uh huh, yeah I heard you". I usually see Karen Jordan who is fantastic why Dermatologist Assoc would bring NP Paris on their team is beyond me. Just beware if you want an experienced professional NP Paris is not the one just hold off to see Dr. Jordan.

Chan, after performing an extensive on-line search for a Doctor that I could see for what appeared to be an uncomfortable bump on my stomach and also in my navel area, as it was protruding outwards. I had two different visible lumps on my stomach area that caused discomfort and obviously looked unpleasant. After having scheduled an appointment, I was happy to quickly get a quick appointment to be seen by Dr. Chan. Since I had already had taken some Cat Scans, Dr. Chan was able to review the images and was able to confirm that indeed I had a double hernia. He was so kind and caring that he managed to schedule me within the next week to perform a surgical repair for my condition. Before my surgery took place, I explained to Dr. Chan my main concerns in understanding the specifics and the manner to perform my surgery to repair in such a manner to avoid noticeable scarring due to the surgery. He was very kind and extremely caring that I could not believe that the only noticeable signs of surgery are only a few incisions that can not be seen. In fact, my navel was also, corrected that cosmetically speaking it looks as if I have never even had a double umbilical hernia repair on my stomach and navel area. Thank You Doctor for an excellent surgery and being there for me during the whole process and after my surgery as I woke up afterwards. The entire process was well worth my time in researching not just for a qualified Doctor but also, for a caring Doctor who was understanding about my concerns of possible scarring. The healing process was a bit difficult but it only encouraged me to become active again in order to continue to improve my health and awareness to prevent any future injuries. I have since dropped 44 lbs. and continue to stay healthy and in shape by long walks every day, eat responsibly, and no heavy lifting. Paco Luna

Upon entering the facility we parked in the parking garage and then proceeded to the breezeway to have an officer greet us and point us in the direction we were to go. Thought the elevators bottom to check in. All still tolling smoothly. Sat down for about 2 and a half minutes and they called me back immediately. I got to the back was asked to undress and put on the ever adored hospital johnny and non skid socks. How the cutest people can be brought to look like the walking dead in these things. Lol. Both the supervisor and the nurse came in and introduced themselves first. Then the anesthesiologist, and finally my surgeon. They were all a joy. I will say in my field it's hard to find people who not only know what they are doing and do it to the best of their ability, but genuinely love doing it. I think I ran into that group. Blessed I am for being able to. After the procedure, I wasn't treated as a medical professional, I wasn't treated as an equal, I was treated as a adored patient. That in itself, made me able to relinquish the responsibility of my healthcare into someone else's hands because I knew they not only were they capable, but happy to do so. It's hard to relax when you are always the one everyone else looks to and are in control. They were so good they gave my husband instruction as to my continued care at home. This is something I will ever be grateful for. Sorry if I leave anyone out. Please forgive me. It's only I was mostly out of it when I was there.
