While I was in a lot of pain, I also understood there are patients with far more critical emergencies, so I was prepared for a long wait. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised. From arrival to X-rays, diagnosis, pain medication, splinting, and a prescription, I was in and out in about two hours. The intake process was efficient, and I especially appreciated that the staff prioritized getting me evaluated and comfortable before collecting my insurance information. That patient-first approach spoke volumes. Dr. Subramani was kind and took the time to explain my injury and treatment plan. To top it off, I received a follow-up phone call afterward to check on my recovery, which was an unexpected and much-appreciated touch. Emergency rooms often get a reputation for long waits and impersonal care, but my experience was the opposite. I'm grateful to Dr. Subramani and the entire team for providing such efficient, compassionate care during a painful experience. Highly recommend.

She demanded to me rudely to turn my TV off because I kept asking her to repeat herself, even after my infant was crying over her and I couldn't hear her, I wasn't even aware she was the social worker because she did not state that, she must have used another term but I was unaware she was the social worker when she introduced herself and her job title to me, not once did she say "social worker". After she left I asked the nurse when the social worker would arrive and they told me that she was the social worker. Her name was Ganell? Or Janelle? I felt like she made decisions based off her own personal dissatisfaction and judgment toward me, and was extremely unprofessional and power driven, keeping me at the hospital and preventing me from being discharged as some form of personal punishment for not taking her attitude very well. I even overheard that based on her judgement; that I might have to stay until Monday, and the stress has been killing me, for reasons she kept me, she didn't even inquire about, or even ask me to explain anything regarding her own concerns. I came in Wednesday at 6cm dilated in active labor around 3am and have another child waiting for me at home. I've been here basically 3 days and counting and I feel like I am in a postpartum prison. I don't understand why they cannot continue investigating my case at home and let me go home. Even a lot of other staff members and nurses are confused that I am having to stay so long and were surprised that I was no longer able to discharge based off Miss Janell's orders and "discomfort" of me.

I am extremely disappointed with the care my daughter received at Palomar Medical Center…read more My daughter was hospitalized for several days, starting in the Emergency Department, then being transferred to the ICU because of persistent low blood pressure requiring medication to support her blood pressure, and later transferred to a regular hospital floor. Despite numerous tests and repeated blood draws, we left without a clear explanation for what caused her blood pressure to drop so severely. During her hospitalization, my daughter had blood drawn multiple times a day. Her arms and hands were punctured repeatedly--at least 7-10 different sites by my count. I understand that blood tests can be necessary, especially for a seriously ill patient, but watching her repeatedly get stuck was extremely difficult. My biggest concern happened toward the end of her hospitalization. My daughter complained that one of her IV sites was extremely painful. I asked a staff member to remove it because she was in significant pain. The interaction was unpleasant, and when the adhesive was eventually removed, it was pulled off very forcefully. Since coming home, my daughter's hand has remained noticeably swollen and she is experiencing significant pain and burning, with difficulty moving the hand. She had received IV medications/electrolytes through that area, although I do not know whether the last infusion was potassium, magnesium, or something else. I am very concerned about what happened to that IV site and we are seeking medical evaluation for it. I was also deeply disturbed by the way I witnessed one staff member speak to another patient on our floor. An elderly patient repeatedly called for help, and I could hear a staff member responding loudly and harshly from several rooms away. Regardless of how busy a hospital is, vulnerable patients deserve dignity and respectful treatment. My daughter was on the 9th floor, room 990. Some of the nurses who directly cared for my daughter were kind, and I want to make that distinction. I was also particularly grateful for Lily in the ICU on the 7th floor, who was compassionate, respectful, and professional. However, I personally witnessed staff spending time in the break room looking at their phones while patients were calling for assistance. As a mother, I stayed beside my daughter day and night because I became uncomfortable leaving her alone. My experience left me especially concerned about elderly or vulnerable patients who do not have a family member present to advocate for them. I strongly encourage hospital management to review these concerns, particularly IV care, responsiveness to patients in pain, and the way vulnerable patients are spoken to and treated. Families should not feel that they have to remain at the bedside 24 hours a day simply to make sure their loved one receives attention and respectful care.

First off, so easy to find parking and they're not charging you $10 plus to go see a doctor. I find that ridiculous in other medical buildings. It is so easy to navigate and very clean and calm when you walk in. All the staff are so friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I walked in to get some bloodwork done, in total, it took less than 10 minutes to check in, get the bloodwork done, WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT! I was so amazed, I couldn't believe it. Another perk of this location is that when you're done, you can come downstairs to a whole-foods and one of my favorite shopping centers. It cannot get any better.

My younger sister isn't a physician I didn't know the devastating impact her decision would have on my health at that time period. I decided to take this Estrogen Medication called Prempro for (one year and a half) then I stopped taking this Medication because this Prempro caused me to contract a severe DVT means a (Deep Venous Thrombosis) in my Left Leg. I contacted Dr. Richard Saxon who is a Certified Radiologist who specializes in the Stenting process of inserting Stents in both my Right and Left Groin Area inside my body. Dr. Richard Saxon performed this Stenting Surgical procedure for the First Time on my Left Leg. My Stenting Procedure was very successful. I was his First Recipient. Also the Tri-City Radiologist Group has an amazing collection of physicians who I had a few procedures done with Dr. Donald Ponec who had inserted a IVC Filter in my Left Iliac Vein to keep my vein open on a permanent basis to prevent any New Blood Clots from traveling up to my Heart . Also Dr. Justin Gooding performed a similar procedure on the same left leg and this procedure was very successful with excellent results. During my visit, I experienced excessive wait times, poor communication, lack of follow-up, staff behavior. What was most concerning was lack of communication. I understand that hospitals can be busy and that healthcare professionals work under significant pressure. However, patients and families deserve clear communication, respect, and timely care. In my case, I had to wait 3 days for an MRI after that their wasn't a care plan to follow up. I had to advocate for myself for proper treatment. I am sharing this feedback not simply to complain, but in the hope that management will review these concerns and take steps to improve the patient experience. I would appreciate having someone from leadership contact me to discuss this matter further. Thank you for your attention.

I didn't get a pre op appointment until 1/8/26. Recently I developed an issue with my scalp and wanted to see a different dermatologist than I'd seen in the past. His first appointment at that time (6/8/26) was at the end of September. I called the appointment line that day and made my request. I was told that there were no appointments available and they'd get back to me. When I followed through I was told I was on a priority list and they'd get back to me, which hasn't happened yet. I question whether any other HMO is better. I think they're great if you only need maintenance but, as you age, they don't have the invested resources to take care of my only growing needs.
