My daughter is encouraged to be the best person she can be! She has grown as a dancer and continues to do so every day. She started in Tippy Toes and Tappy Feet and is now part of the competitive troupe dancing in all types of dance... Ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, clogging, musical theater, hip hop, acro, and liturgical. If you are looking for a community that doesn't base their entire "being" on winning but on fostering the love of dance and expression this is a great place for your kids. The teachers love my kid like their own and work to help her grow as a person and a friend. There will always be "crazy" people that think otherwise, which is sad... I would recommend Studio 5 to everyone that asks... and I have.

We have been so impressed with the increase of confidence, Dance knowledge, poise and real friendships that our daughters have experienced. While our older daughter prefers the competitive dance teams, the studio also offers recreational classes which happens to suit my younger daughter's needs better. I would urge you to try out a class or too and get a feel for yourself. We have an extended family at this studio now and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

No connection with the parent....no staff present, or so it seems. Do you even care when you open the door at the end of the class if my child is picked up? You don't even make a connection with a parent to make sure the children are safe... And if there is a problem, there's no one there to speak to, for the child or the parent. No place I want my child going. Need to learn some manners, at the very least....or do you just care about the tuition??? Glad to be out of that place.

Since we moved to Knightdale I decided to enroll her into ballet and tap again and it looked like there were 2 options near me. I read the Yelp review for Dance Center and hoped it was a one off experience. I contacted them and Miss Cindy was super nice and responsive. Invited my daughter to attend a class to for free to see if we liked it. After class there was no sales pitch. Miss Cindy was really great with the girls so I registered my daughter. Glad I did. She loved it and it is clear she is there to learn dance and not for me to pay for something crazy every time I turn around. Get this- for the recital even though she will be doing ballet and tap routines- the costume is the same. It converts so I don't have to buy 2 overpriced costumes she will wear one day. The other studio made you buy 2. The recital tickets are a reasonable price as well. The classes start on time and run through the entire hour. Miss Cindy will call the girls out on doing something wrong so it is corrected. So this is a win/win. Daughter loves it and is learning something and I don't feel like I am a human money dispenser :) Only thing I would like is more room for parents to sit and keep items. Maybe a coat rack installed and a couple more chairs.

When I told the video person they needed to at least move over a seat to remove it from my line of sight, I was told that would not be possible, even -- AMAZINGLY -- though there were TWO vacant seats to the right. I was told my comments were unkind. This, too, is amazing since compromising my experience to satisfy their desire to be center-row is the very epitomy of "unkind." This posture is, however, consistent with comments below that pertain to their arrogance. These guys need to do better and improve their attitude.

Miss Monica and Miss Taylor along with the other teachers have always made so many of the dancers feel like they are developing and growing young women . They have absolutely honored the girls stages of life and have gone out of their way to create a beyond dance culture. The dance training is superb and their is a wonderful friendship culture. Be very careful about ordering tickets over the telephone. They are terrible about sending your…read moretickets out. I ordered tickets in July, and I still do not have tickets. Since they had not sent them out, I thought I might change them. OMG, all they could do is try to make money by charging a fee for each ticket , and then try to charge more for a ticket in a lesser seat. They are worse than the airlines. We need a Pete Buttigieg over them to exact fairness. I know that this is probably a management problem, but it is a sad state when poor management overshadows a cultural gem for our community.
