His primary care doctor looked at him and said, "ER." Imagine my surprise ringing the Smithtown Fire Department just now. "What are you talking about? We are a volunteer organization. You'll never be billed." (He had to ask me three times why I was calling. Hoping to get ahead of the curve I wanted to share Dad's insurance information.) I just dropped a thank you card (+donation) in the mail. The EMTs arrived within minutes, our ride was smooth and the handoff to the ER effortless. I understand they were in a hurry and had to cross over the 2 lanes for a call, but i jammed on my brakes, and let them pass, so the profanity wasnt necessary.
