This is referring to the 2400 White Avenue location. I've been dealing with my med provider and nurses taking a ridiculous amount of time to approve a med that I have regularly been on for years. It is very frustrating when I have reached out via contact email and phone (Walgreens has tried to contact too) and it's been days without my medication approval. The front desk minus one female I spoke with on the phone 10/12 (she was just not showing care in my opinion) has seemed to be doing everything they can to assist with my issue. I never had an issue especially concerning a medication I've been on for years. I'm out of my medication and it's the weekend and the office is closed until Monday, I will rely on my pharmacy to allow me an emergency prescription. I truly appreciate and enjoy Centerstone typically, but this is not something that should ever happen to a patient! read more

From the moment I walked in, they treated me with disrespect and annoyance as if I was in the wrong to seek help. It took over two weeks to transfer my insurance back to somewhere who treated me right, and on the phone I was snapped at for saying I was frustrated with the situation. The receptionists have treated me heartlessly repeatedly, and the managers do NOT care whatsoever. The person who did my intake appointment kept sighing as if annoyed I was sobbing at past trauma, and monotonously asked questions as if they couldn't wait for me to hurry up and answer. I've been to bad places before, but NEVER have I felt the need to leave a review. This place is disgusting and pathetic. read more

Before I started seeing Kristyn, I was a wreck. I honestly didn't think therapy could help me, and I believed I was a lost cause. Here I am, a year and some months later, and I am BEYOND grateful for Kristyn, Nurse Raynes, and the entire Centerstone Madison team! I never felt like I really understood myself, but Kristyn is helping me with all of my obstacles. She is showing me there is always hope. Everyone is always so welcoming and kind in the office. The mental health system in our country is less that spectacular but I feel like most of the providers here try their best, considering the limitations imposed by our government and insurance companies. I have had great experiences here and would definitely recommend this to someone who is limited on where their insurance will allow them to go. The issues I have had have nothing to do with the care providers, and everything to do with the limitations of my insurance provider. read more

Pretty poor place to receive care. Was under the impression that I would get some actual care, was instead put through an "intake" meeting where I answered all the questions that I had literally just answered in written format on the forms they gave me. I was scolded at one point for chuckling at the absurdity of the process. Even so, I figured I'd give them one more chance, and told them that I would begin my actual, hopefully helpful sessions at a location nearer to me. They indicated they would call me to set up the appointment. I didn't receive a call back, but did receive a bill for the "intake" meeting which was completely pointless, especially without further appointments. I paid the bill, which was fortunately largely covered by insurance, but won't be back. Everyone seemed apathetic, uncaring, and like they wished they were in any job except the one they had. Came recommended by my PCP, but I'll inform him and anyone who asks that they should remain as far away from these clowns as humanly possible. What a shame. read more

Having moved from California, I had to find a new mental health center. I also have no insurance, so I had to find a place that served the uninsured. I have found that place in Centerstone. I called the customer info line and they told me I could walk in Mon-Thur between 9:30 and 10:30 to receive an evaluation. I walked in the next day. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and was asked to register. I had my evaluation done and my diagnosis confirmed. They told me I had to wait 3 months for my medication evaluation but I should call in frequently to see if they had any cancelations. About a week later, I got in on a cancelation. I saw a very friendly nurse who helped me choose the proper medication for my condition. She even helped me sign up for free medication from patient assistance and gave me a two month supply of sample medications. If you are offered case management services, take it. I have come to love my case manager. She has helped me with a bus pass, special service bus card, taken me to go get food boxes, and helped me to get my GED. The case managers there will help you take care of your wellness needs. For being uninsured, Centerstone offers a lot of help for very little. I would recommend Centerstone for anyone in greater Nashville for their mental health needs. read more

I'm reviewing their White Avenue location. My sons are both treated for ADD at this facility and it's a very good representation of mental health care in the US at this moment in time. It's lousy and designed to accommodate "the system" instead of its patients. One of my sons is 14 and was diagnosed with ADD at age 7. Medicines are the only focus of psychiatric care right now in the US. There is no "treatment" and when I ask questions about ADD, I get nonsense. These "highly qualified professionals" are not well informed per se, they are simply the gate-keepers for controlled medicines. Visits with their personnel are usually around 15 minutes - I believe they would be even shorter is they could legally get away with that. The 15 minutes are spent taking vitals and recording the answers to basic questions (appetite, sleep etc.). If my son is struggling, there is no time for that. If he has questions about his care, there is no time for that. If he is curious and wants more information about kids like him, there is no time for that. This is mental healthcare in the US. That is all. When there are mass shootings in the US, there is a 5 minute conversation about mental healthcare in this country. When those 5 minutes are over, more guns are sold, and kids with challenges are once again forgotten. No one really cares enough to address the basic inadequacies of our system. Centerstone is just a good example of what's wrong with out entire mental healthcare approach in this country - "every man for himself". On a more micro-level, Centerstone's front-desk people, who sit behind sliding glass partitions, suck. They couldn't care any less than they do right now if you receive "good customer service". You have to plan weeks ahead for appointments and Rx refillesw, and you're really screwed if you lose your meds or your paper Rx. They take forever to accomplish even the smallest administrative tasks and are usually rude while doing whatever it is that is required of them. It's not like you can go elsewhere as this is the "best option" with many insurers for juvenile psych care. So....unlike employees at a restaurant or retail establishment, they really aren't striving for "happy" customers or good outcomes. They get paid either way - and boy howdy that really comes across in their approach to patients. Be prepared, advocate for yourself and your child, and read all the rules and policies. Know your stuff - and you might be ok with these folks. read more

This place is a nightmare. They literally put me on hold for 22 minutes, and then closed down while I was on hold, cutting my call off. This was 48 hours after they were supposed to call in the refill of my meds, and didn't. They didn't call them in the next day. I've been waiting up all night to get the nonscheduled, non-narcotic medication that allows me to function for the third day in a row. They told me if the medication they gave me didn't work, I was out of luck, because they weren't trying anything else. There is not a single Doctor in this building. The Nurse Practitioners will present themselves as Doctors, and will not bother to correct you. The staff is rude, they do not care about the patients. Every place around will refer you to them. I would sooner go to the vet. read more

My psychiatrist went out of my network and I needed to find affordable counseling. The woman who helped me make my initial appointment was very accommodating and helped me find an earlier time due to a cancellation. The man who was my "therapist" and the woman who did the "medical evaluation" made me feel extremely uncomfortable every time I talked with them. The "therapist" just complimented me during my sessions instead of focusing on the serious issues I was trying to discuss. I later googled him and found evidence of sexual harrassment from another woman's review. While I would not characterize my experience as such, I could definitely see it potentially leading to that. The "medical evaluation" was going to be an hour long conversation where I would have to describe every incident of self-harm and attempted suicide in great detail. I was just trying to get a refill on a prescription that three other doctors had readily prescribed me for nearly 5 years. None of them ever required that level of detail about my personal experiences with self harm. I had to end our session 15min in because I was so overwhelmed by the feelings I had in relieving those memories in such detail. I never want to have anything to do with Centerstone again. Their lack of professionalism, organization, and standardized practice is DISTURBING. read more
