I've never felt rushed as they gather information, review medications, or make notes for Dr. Kurzynske's review. But, it is Dr. Kurzynske who makes one feel like a real person with real value with real issues. He listens attentively, probes to ascertain issues, is not rebuffed by questions, and makes his patients feel like they've been heard and receiving the best medical attention and actions that a primary care physician could offer. He is knowledgeable and trusted to be current in that knowledge. He views patients as whole persons, physically, mentally, and emotionally. He sees the patient in context of their circumstances (i.e., impacted by needs resulting from work and family situations). His compassion is real and comforting. I am not sure how Dr. Pak was given a license to practice medicine because he is that stupid. He stands there with a pen and clipboard and stares at you like you're the first human body he's ever seen. He is the only doctor I've met who looks like he needs a referral himself. Come to think of it, none of them look healthy. I've seen more diagnostic confidence from the Magic 8-Ball in my kid's toy box. I've been a patient here for years and have even recommended several friends, but it's time to move on. The past two experiences have been awful. The first issue was a last-minute reschedule, from HPC, due to what I was told was a "personal matter" with the doctor. Life happens, and I understand that, but pushing my appointment out three months was completely unacceptable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even with no fault of my own I was told that walk-in scheduling was not permitted when I suggested a mutually flexible solution.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The second issue was even more frustrating. I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment, but because they wanted me there 30 minutes early (to fill out 10 minutes of paperwork that consists of answering redundant questions from the info provided via the portal and phone call) they refused to see me and insisted on rescheduling. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I could have easily completed the forms in time, but instead, they chose to be inflexible and dismissive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ironically, I received a text message and phone call the next day inquiring why I "did not" show up for my appointment, which was discussed in person/on-site the day prior...and to inform me that missing appointments could cause me to lose "patient" status.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Hilarious!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's clear that patients here are just numbers, not people. I see Rachel the NP. She is wonderful. She actually listens to your concerns and I FEEL she cares. It's so hard to find someone like her who will really listen to her patients. I don't ever have much to complain about and see her for med refills but she always makes sure I'm ok top of my other health needs and reminding me to make other appointments (paps, mammograms, etc) and I'm glad she does! Shortened review due to text limits. Message me and I'll be happy to discuss my experience with this horrible place! My first appt w/ Dr AG was okay. She wouldn't give me doctor referrals that I requested for ongoing issues b/c I'm a new patient. That was a little frustrating. I wasn't sure I was going to stick with her, b/c it didn't seem like she was listening to me. There didn't seem to be much of a partnership or collaboration on her end. I honestly didn't put much effort into finding another doctor since I realized I'm on a PPO and could just see doctors on my own accord. I needed a med refill. I was in the building already, and stopped by her office for a refill since they have all of my medical history. They refused and insisted I schedule an appt to get it due to family planning concerns. Totally understandable. I didn't argue about it. I scheduled for 3pm and another appt with an orthopedist in the building at 4pm. I checked in right at 3pm. After 40 minutes had passed, I checked in twice to see what was going on and tell them I had another appt at 4pm 3:45pm - I finally get called in. I'm frustrated at this point and I say I have be out 15 minutes b/c of my other appt at 4pm. The nurses exact reaction is a sarcastic "good luck with that." I respond "no, there is no good luck with that. I scheduled this appointment for 3pm. I've been out there for 45 minutes. I left work early for this. I need my prescription and I need to go." She clearly could not care less. Talking about other patients in the clinic. Treating me like I'm the jerk because I don't have all day to wait around for them. Fine. I wait in the patient room, watching the clock. 3:58pm - I decide I need to go. Dr. AG is right outside taking her time going through papers and talking. She turns around, I tell her I have another appt, I need to go, please give me my refill. She says she won't give me a refill until she actually sees me. I tell her I'm right here, I've been waiting an hour, please give me my refill. Again, she says she won't give it to me until she sees me. Fine. I invite her into the patient room and see her give a look to another person in the general area as if to say "can you believe how this patient is treating me." like I'm the jerk. I mean - that look alone in front of a patient is downright rude and the most unprofessional behavior I have EVER experienced with a doctor. So I sit down, I put the medication in front of her and say "This is my medication, please refill it." Well, she's clearly already made up her mind she's not going to refill it, regardless of anything I said or did. She didn't like me - she wasn't going to help me and just hide behind her "policies" that she seemed to be making up as we went along. She does nothing but play with me. First she won't refill it unless I'm seeing a psychiatrist. Then she won't refill it at all, go talk to my psychiatrist. It was honestly just one big game for her. I tell her when I first saw her and we went through all of my medications, what they were for and she never flagged this and never made it seem like it would be an issue. She acted like she couldn't have cared less. She just made up reasons for not refilling it. That's when I was done. Mind you, I know I spoke firmly, but not ONCE did I lose my composure. I didn't yell. I didn't swear. I still said please and thank you regardless of how frustrated I was. My ending words to her were no different. I again communicated with her that on my first visit, we went through all of my medications and when we discussed this one, she NEVER flagged it. I made sure she knew I wasn't sure about her from my first appointment and now I definitely was never coming back. I made sure to let her know that she doesn't listen to her patients or their needs. I also made sure to let her know I was going to write this review. All the while she's typing away - I'm sure making notes about how I'm the jerk in this situation. So my experience with Dr AG and her nurse - they don't listen to their patients. They don't treat you like a human. They simply go through the motions of what they have decided they are or are not going to do based on how they feel that day. There is absolutely no collaboration with the patient - which completely contradicts what is on their website. They have no respect for the patients time. Not once did I get an apology from anyone for keeping me waiting. Instead, I get sarcastic remarks, unprofessional behavior and decisions made by Dr AG that were clearly made just to frustrate since she decided she didn't like me in that situation. To update this - the office manager did call me an apologized profusely. She ensured that I was not billed for this appointment and that this was being addressed with the doctor and nurse. read more

I had previously established care with NP Rachel McHenry. My experience with her was great. However, I was in a car accident recently and after being discharged from the ER they referred me to a necessary specialist for surgery and asked me to follow up with my primary care physician because issues of pain or injury can pop up a few days or a couple weeks later once your adrenaline has settle down. So, A couple days later I got online and snagged the earliest available appointment (4 days later) with Rachel McHenry. There was a drop-down menu when I scheduled my appointment and that drop-down menu contained follow up from ER visit so I selected it and shared that after the car accident I was instructed to follow up with my primary care and then I had a few concerns. I get a call THE MORNING OF MY APPOINTMENT saying the office will not see me. You read that correct. They have a policy that says if you've been in a car accident they will not talk to you about the car accident help you in anyway or continue follow up care. The lady on the phone said I could come in for the appointment as long as I didn't mention any thing regarding the car accident or any problems, pain, anxiety or concerns I'm having. I was so flabbergasted. I didn't know that primary care physicians could legally refuse care. It was devastating to say the least. They insisted I go to a tri star urgent care so I went through the process of making that appointment. I showed up to the urgent care and they informed me that it would be best to go see my primary care physician since I have establish care and they can provide more routine care in the future which is necessary after car accidents. I had to again share with them that my primary care physician refused to see me and sent me to them - and they were shocked. Now, after experiencing a very traumatic event and serious car wreck I now how to search and find a new doctor, which I successfully did in the office is only a few miles away from this one. Feel free to message me if you are looking for a great primary care practice. After doing some research, it seems this office doesn't want to get involved in anything that require more paperwork or secondary insurance and car insurance. Even though I told the woman on the phone that we were billing all of this through my medical health insurance, they still refused. It makes me wonder what else they would refuse care for- workers comp, any injury That includes retaining an attorney? Personally, I would stay away from Hermitage primary care since their policy is that in a time of huge need they will refuse care and make your life much more stressful. read more

I had been going to HPC for about two years now as needed when I had things arise that were concerning. I loved Dr. Sarah McClellan, she was nice, quick and I felt like she listened to me. The last time I went to see her, I couldn't hear out of my right ear, she looked in there and referred me to the most expensive ENT she could, I went there. This cost me around $300 and they prescribed an allergy nose spray that was another $100. Long story short, I got the medicine recommended and was told to make an appointment if I had issues. My hearing came back, great, I didn't make another appointment. Then I received a letter saying she no longer wants to be my physician because I am not following her recommendations for my heath. I do not understand where this is coming from, I was seeing her on an as-needed basis and was told that I did not need to followup, so now I am having to find a new primary care physician. She didn't bother to followup with me or anything, just a letter basically saying screw you. On more than one occasion, I have been handed other patient's check out paperwork, HIPPA violation there. The appointment setting staff are never available and always have attitudes. Honestly, I think she did me a favor. read more

I moved to Old Hickory a few years ago and have been looking for a new doctor in the area. After several unsuccessful attempts, I was referred Dr. Chauvin's office. His entire staff has been amazing, including Rachel, the nurse practitioner, the woman who draws blood (best I've come across) and his nurse who went out of her way to help me with a prescription; even the receptionist is helpful and friendly. Dr. Chauvin hasn't kept me waiting, hasn't seemed rushed, but instead has taken some extra time to get to know me. After several visits, I'm grateful to say I have found a new doctor and I don't have to drive to Franklin anymore! PS the free valet parking is an extra bonus! read more

I've known PA Sara McClellan a long time and I can't say enough nice and true things about her expertise and her bedside manner. Sara came into clinic on a day off and made time to see me after received very poor care at a near by urgent care clinic. She listens to her patients, and by virtue of her internal medicine focus, she has a greater understanding of disease process and underlying cause than many other providers. Her nurse, Chrissy, is an angel-- one of the most empathetic humans I've ever met. Sara is my physician but because she is so amazing I feel confident recommending the whole practice. HPC is the best office ever! When you walk in the door you are greeted by several warm and friendly faces. The nurses and providers know their stuff. No matter how busy, I have always felt that the providers and staff took a lot of time to listen and care for me. I have never felt rushed and I was never made to feel that I was just another co-pay. I started going to Hermitage Primary care earlier this year. I see the nurse practitioner, Rachel McHenry. She's very personable and easy to talk to. I've never had any trouble getting an appointment and I've never waited long in the waiting room. The lab tech is great. She's one of 2 people who have ever been able to find a vein in my arm on the first try. I also like that at the end of each appointment you get a printed out appointment summary. They are located inside Summit hospital and with free valet parking is a breeze. I would definitely recommend this practice and Rachel McHenry if you're in the need of a new primary care physician. They lose a star for not being open on Fridays. Boooooo. read more

I had a very disappointing rushed experience at this clinic. Dr. Frank asked me one question and I was in his office maybe 7 minutes. Total bill for that 7 minutes was $300 WITH Insurance. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. This was also my first time and I was wanting to find a caring primary doctor to keep coming back to. I have been seeing Dr. John Chauvin since 1998. I am a retired RN and can say from experience that he is a very skilled and competent doctor. But that is only part of his attributes.
