I saw Mark Simpson for a few months and he helped me so much, would recommend him as a therapist to anyone!

At a time when the worst possible tragedy had befallen my family, Dr. Daniel Goldstein was there for me. In addition to utilizing traditional methods, Dr. Dan also employs EMDR psychotherapy which had amazing results. I had spoken to other therapists in the past, and had achieved some lasting effects, but nothing could have prepared me for the impactful work that we were able to do together in a very short period of time. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first, but after a few sessions, it was truly incredible how much we were able to make progress against some pretty traumatic incidents. Additionally, it should be mentioned that the level of compassion I was treated with was really unmatched. Not only did that help with the therapy, it also guaranteed a high level of trust between the provider and patient. I cannot recommend Dr. Goldstein and the Nashville Psych practice enough. Their high degree of professionalism and the efficacy of treatment is unmatched; and I am eternally gratetful. read more

I only saw Dr. Goldstein for a few months before I moved away but couldn't be happier with the experience. His calming receptive presence helped me get out all of the thoughts, emotions and memories that had been so difficult to express prior. And while Dr. Goldstein doesn't try to solve any of your problems for you, he does offer insight into the underlying patterns and thought processes he notices that may be affecting your behavior and decision-making. Dr. Goldstein, who I affectionately call Dan, is hands-down the best mental health provider I have ever encountered. I wish I could give him more stars! He is incredibly insightful, understanding, and supportive. He also has a great sense of humor that made me really look forward to our time together. Prior to Dan, I had no experience with a male provider and did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by how well we connected. He really helped me develop self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-compassion. Originally I saw Dan for individual therapy, but I decided to also try couples counseling after we discussed how my fiancé and I might benefit. My fiancé was initially very hesitant to pursue counseling, in part because of a bad past experience. However, Dan created a very comfortable environment that put us both at ease. He helped us work through major obstacles in our relationship, develop more effective communication, and learn how to problem-solve as a couple. My fiancé had such a positive experience that he wanted to keep seeing Dan long after we resolved our issues! The fact that Dan inspired my fiancé to pursue further personal growth and development speaks volumes about Dan's abilities as a therapist. Sadly I am moving and will no longer be able to see Dan, but I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to work with him. Not only did Dan help me work through my struggles in the moment, but he also helped me develop strategies and coping mechanisms that will continue to benefit me in the future. Dan was there for me during a time in my life when so many things around me felt like they were falling apart. I was in a new city, away from family, getting a graduate degree and trying to cope with past traumas. His thoughtful, intuitive, and calm nature really allowed me the space to find my own answers. Dan is an incredible listener, who is passionate about what he does. We have taken our son, who is now a young adult, to various psychologists for 15 years. We have always been told the same thing...ADHD and processing issues. Dan helped unlock what this looks like in the real world, with concrete advise and steps to overcome these issues that can trip one up in life.
