Patient Beware - The worst place of business and service I have come across. At first nice but…read morethen when I questioned them and said I wasn't happy with brand new glasses - never left the office yet. I was told too bad, they are already set for me. The friendly, professional service went down hill and turned unprofessional. - At time of picking frames choices were limited and I stated my dissatisfaction with selection. A frame was chosen for me and I still don't like it. At no time was I told I could take my prescription and shop for frames elsewhere. - It wasn't until I went to pick up glasses that I realized they chose a frame that had clip on sunglasses - My prescription has its own tint. So I now have self-tinting sunglasses with clip on sunglasses that I ended up paying for that I did not need. - When I look down at my keyboard it looks all wavy....what the heck! - At time of exam I told Dr Clorec I work on computer average 12 hrs/day - the lettering on the computer screen now looks fuzzy with my new glasses and I truly cannot wear them for work. The keyboard looks wavy. - Eye exam does not meet my needs for computer work! - Not being told - I was sold a pair of glasses that have clip on sun glasses that I do not need in fact on my first visit I said NO clip ons - they are not necessary and I don't want something that could be lost. I am new to Camrose and what a negative experience this has been. Negative, unfriendly and unprofessional by not advising I could take prescription with me and look elsewhere for frames. Prescription is obviously wrong as new glasses CANNOT be used with computer screen or keyboard. They are totally of no use and my job is computer work. Unfortunately this has been an experience one could never predict but it happened and they are not willing to do anything in the line of customer satisfaction.

I opted into the plan where you give them money to have your lenses replaced within a time frame. I…read moreguess I missed the timeframe and because of that, I could not receive new lenses or my money back. So, essentially, they just took my money without any service attached. So, theft. I understand that I am responsible for getting the lenses ordered, but why do they get to keep my money? The receptionist was very rude about it and just "Hid" behind "Policy". I guess it is their policy to keep your money without service.

Your experience could very well be much different than mine. Firstly, I believe they have the average fees one would find at most optometrists. Not sure about their frames though, as I only ever bought one pair there. I can't give them more than three stars though. The reasons? First off, I found their reception to be very hit and miss. I had several situations where I had to correct them on information that should have been correct in the first place. And when there was an issue with my vision that required that I go see a specialist, the one they wanted to send me to involved a three-month wait, with NO courtesy call to remind me. Three months is a long time in when I worked in an industry that involved schedule changes that couldn't be altered (due to circumstances I won't mention here). Also, I have astigmatisms in both eyes. The optometrist I saw there decided it wasn't bad enough for me to require toric lenses. So my vision has been less than perfect for the past 8 years. I went to a different place earlier this year, and they recommended toric lenses. I'm wearing them right now. MAN, it's nice to see this sharp again. Your vision should always be AS GOOD AS POSSIBLE.

The big outfit in Calgary, where she bought the expensive frames couldn't help her and could only suggest new frames on her dime. The clerk in FYIdoctors in Camrose, took the time and repaired the glasses .....no charge. We will be buying all our glasses there in the future. Certainly this kind employee is maintaining and building a customer base. We would like to thank Jenn Coles for her services and let the manager know you have a good one here and someone who is building your business through customer service. Thank you, Jenn, we'll be back. Chris Richardson and Kelley Turner Sedgewick

This is the Vision Centre inside the Leduc Walmart. I've been getting headaches and wanting to…read morechange my glasses, so I booked a last minute eye appointment here. I called in the morning and they were able to fit me in for 6pm. You don't need an appointment if you just want to browse around or buy something like glasses (if you know your prescription), but you do need an appointment for the eye exam. They take Alberta Blue Cross if you have it. If not you have to pay up front and go through any benefits plan you have to get reimbursed. Remember to keep your receipts and all that. I came in and they did two pretests with one of the ladies from The Vision Centre. The one where you look the the lens and see the balloon, the other where they puff the air into your eye. Having worn glasses since I was 10 I'm used to both tests, except the air puff one still made me blank and move my head back. Had to do that one twice for each eye because my first times didn't give an accurate reading. The optometrist Dr. Ramsey did my eye exam. It was pretty straight forward, and surprisingly my eye sight hasn't worsened as badly as I would have expected. My right eye changed slightly, but left stayed the same. Dr. Ramsey was friendly and helpful, and made sure to ask if there was any family vision history that would affect my vision (is there ever). He also asked me if I had any questions for him. I'd been looking at some online glasses retailers, which require you to know your PD number (pupilary distance). Apparently the optometrists at The Vision Centre don't do that reading...Walmart Vision Centre does and they charge $25 for it. I got the reading. Pretty sure that number doesn't change so I'll keep it on hand for future glasses shopping. I did look around at some of their glasses. They have a sale on at the moment where you can get 2 pairs of glasses for $170, except if you have a strong prescription like mine, after all the lens coatings and other things it's about $280 for 2 pairs of glasses. It's not a bad deal. I tried on a few of the test frames, but since I could really see how I looked with them on (my glasses were off and I don't wear contacts) I didn't buy anything. They sell glasses kits, lens clothes, cleaners, etc. here. As well they also have prescription contacts. If you buy lens cleaner from them you can get a free refill when you bring in the bottle.
