I was sent by my doctor because it was after their operating hours for swelling in my leg. He thought maybe a blood clot. So I go in and wait. The doctor immediately walks in and asks me what I am doing there because I had enough medicine at home to self medicate. I haven't been back since. It was rude and embarrassing. I wasn't asking for pain meds, I just wanted to make sure I didn't have a blood clot. I hate being judged by what I take at home. They need to put their prejudices aside before assuming anything. Their home health group is not Baptist they only use that name. They wait 14 days to contact the patient for PT in the home, then do not show up. They are totally over their heads when in trying to run a business. I am can not under stand why Baptist allows this group to use their good name. All the bad treatment reflects on Baptist. The ED was wonderful. Once I was admitted it went downhill. The 5th floor day shift nurse couldn't be bothered. My problem was I was alone, no visitors or family members. No one to hold anyone accountable. What I learned was if you're alone, that's what you'll have to deal with. read more

After initially going to the ER for a head injury I was subsequently diagnosed with pulmonary emboli. This necessitated admission for treatment, and I spent from Monday evening to Thursday afternoon on the 4th floor. From the triage nurses and ER staff to the radiologist and lab techs I could not have asked for better care. Once I was in my room on the 4th floor, I was impressed with the quality of care. The nurses, doctors, therapists, and others involved with my case offered exceptional attention to my needs. The maintenance staff, nutritionist, and everyone else I encountered treated me with respect, compassion, and professionalism. I can't say enough good things about my recent experience. read more

I went to the ER Friday afternoon with what thought was thourt and ear infections had a bad headache never thought nothing about it the doctor wanted to do a ct scan on my head he come back in thee room and said that I had a stroke I want you to know they didn't waste a second they started doing what needed to be done and getting me to what floor I needed to be on witch is the 3rd floor I've never been treated so good in my life the 3rd floor nurse was so great and so nice asking me if I needed anything while they was getting everything else going I want to let them know I thank them from the bottom of my heart everybody that had anything to do with me the hospital should be very proud of there 3rd floor nursing staff I can't thank them enough they treated me like a king I can't help but to go on they was just the greatest bunch of people I've ever been around I could keep going thank all of the people on the 3rd floor stroke department read more

I was rushed to the hospital and admitted the next morning. Since the moment I was wheeled in here I have been treated like I was the only patient here. The entire staff has amazed me at how caring and sweet they are. Ms Liz my nurse is nothing short of one of the most amazing nurses on the planet. I had to have surgery this morning and they were all right they to comfort me and make me feel safe. These ladies and gentlemen are so caring and so wonderful so big shout out to my main nurses Liz and Perion ur amazing ladies thank you so much. The Lexington Women's Health group at Central Baptist has been such a great support during my pregnancy and before during my regular health care. They are caring & always have a smiling face when I come in to the office. Amongst their demands of many obstacles during COVID-19 they have taken it all in stride. terrible service in the emergency room. dr who admitted her with a broken ankle and parkinsons was ignored . my wife had to wait over ten hours and still . she saw a has not seen a doctor. now they are trying to find an orthopaedic surgeon after 12 hrs. i have had a stroke and experienced the same thing only longer . will never utilize baptist health again...henry evans read more

My Doctors are located at Central Baptist Hospital. They are all kind and compassionate. Dr. Neil Farris Office is great! Especially Marie, We adore her! If I need an appointment or anything for my Daughter, Marie always goes above and beyond assist with a problem or accommodate any need from and appointment, paying your bill, Even down to a glass of water!! She deserves lunch and a day off with pay!!! Doctor W.D. Hager MD. Gynecology is across the hall and his office is professional. Dr. Hager is kind! I would like to endorse, support and reccomend this facility and my doctors. I almost forgot a lady on the 10th floor in the Ultrasound office they call her Pocahontus..Polkie pronounced Pole-kie! She is so kind! I was afraid and she was the sweetest lady. Make sure Polkie gets a recognized! I never met anyone so ready to help. I was so nervous and she was helping everyone. My wife and I just had our son here and where completely happy with everything!!! The nurses in the mother baby unit are honestly some of the nicest people I've ever met and they seem to actually love there jobs! We had a different doctor then normal deliver our son and her name was Dr Simms. She was absolutely amazing!!! I wish she had been our dr the whole time lol!! But we ended up staying there from Tuesday night around 11pm till about 1pm Saturday and it honestly felt like we stayed in a hotel with a nanny lol!!! If we ever have any more kids this will be where we go!! read more

Horrible. My father passed away in ICU recently due to a complete lack of compassion and patient care. The head of ICU was unfriendly and seemed bothered. They did not consult his regular doctors and lied to my family stating that they had called his oncologist. There was barely anyone working on the unit and a total lack of urgency. They told a family member who called the h ad nurse from out of the country, that my father was stable and she didn't need to get a plane from England. I drove in from out of state and was also told my father was sleeping peacefully under sedation. We took my exhausted mother home to rest after the nurse said my father would be awake in the morning. An hour after returning to my parents home, they called to let us know my father was in cardiac arrest and dying and there was nothing they could do. They never bothered to tell us my father was diagnosed with sepsis upon admission which is a death sentence for almost anyone but especially for someone elderly. Thus should've been made clear to my family. None of us would've left his side had we known. When we finally got to the hospital he had already passed. They did not prepare his body for viewing and it was horrific for my entire family to see my beloved father in that state. Not one nurse, doctor or staff member came in to speak to us when there were about 20 staff members just sitting at the nursing station hearing our screams and cries. We have the hospital an opportunity to explain how and why they failed and why things were handled so poorly. We received a form letter stating they were sorry but taking zero accountability for anything. This place is a total disgrace and full of amateurs. I cannot believe the head of ICU was so callous about my father. All I have to say is karma. If you don't have compassion you should not be in healthcare. The negligence of this department was disgusting and a complete tragedy. read more

Where do I start? I will make it short, if I can. I am a new Kentucky resident. Moved to Lexington 4 months ago. Love it here. I figured I needed a health provider. Since I am a practicing Baptist the obvious choice - Baptist Health. I called for a an initial appointment and was scheduled with a Dr. Bjorn Hostel. A new doctor seeking new patience. OK by me, lets get started. After numerous phone and in-person Q&A regarding Covid19 protocols, I was granted entry to examination suite, Suite 304, 2101 Nicholasville Rd. Upon entry there was a large contingency of medical staff setting at the "control center" desk either tapping away at their computers or their cell phones. From my view, I appeared to be the only patient in the suite area. I was led to an exam room by a staff member. Within a one minute timeline I was told to gather by belongings and was escorted out of the room. The nurse said that the room had not been cleaned from the prior patient. OK, it didn't sound very Corvid protocol to me, but I had my mask on, so I figured I'd roll the dice. The next room I was led to appeared to be OK, so I was settling in when the nurse came back in the room in a panic and said that the room was already taken, and that we needed to go to a third room. OK, it didn't sound very Covid protocol to me, but I had my masked on, so........ Third time was charm. I got to stay in this room. After going through the battery of history health questions, the nurse announced that the good doctor would be right in. An hour later - no doctor. I was told that this doctor was new and was seeking new patients so you'd think he would want to meet me. I had a 3 pm appointment, so I thought that he would have the same on-time commitment. I understand that doctors can be re-directed, but an hour into it there I was in a room the size of a closet. In that dormant time no one came in to either check on me (I could have been lying on the floor in a coma), offer explanation for why Hostel, the doctor, was late, or to offer me a bottle of water. It must be part of Baptist Health Covid protocol not to check on patients. So, I put my shoes and coat on and went to the "control center" where all of the staff where focused on their respective devices and told them that I was leaving and wanted the nearest exit. They directed me with a raised arm and finger (so much for an escort - probably wasn't part of their protocol). I probably won't be using BH in the future. I can't imagine being on a gurney scheduled for surgery, and have my doctor late, or being assigned to the wrong surgery room. Too bad, I had high hopes. Back to the drawing board. P.S. I did call when I got back home and was given assurance that I would get a call back from management the next day. It never came. I called the next day, and an few hours later I got a call back. The lady was nice enough to hear me out. What she does with the info and how to incorporate it into new best practices is anybody guess. read more

Was treated very poorly and rudely by the Heart and Valve department. Would not return phone calls. No understanding that people work and cannot dash off to come into the office, asked for results over the phone during my set appointment time and was treated like an idiot. Very unprofessional medical treatment and very disrespectful 'bedside manner'. read more
