The trail is so west TX with mesquite trees and dry dirt everywhere. We saw a cute quail flying by and then scurrying across the trail. The dogs loved it and there's also a dog park for them across the street. The nature center is also next to a golf course. It was a great start to our day and beautiful watching the sun rise.

Visited Hill Park today for the first time! It is definitely a nice little park hidden in a…read moreneighborhood. The kids had a great time! There were 2 play areas: one for bigger kids and one for smaller kids. The bigger kids playground had 2 slides and different climbing structures. The smaller kids playground had a duel slide and a moving bridge. There were a few spinning playground pieces as well. Lastly, 2 big kid swings and 2 baby swings rounded out the play equipment. The main negative is that this playground had that messy wood chip ground cover. I personally prefer the squishy rubber ground cover. Hill Park also includes a walking track around an area that occasionally fills up into a pond. During our visit, the pond was there with a few ducks. It was kind of a hassle to have it there as the little kids kept wandering off near it. (Nervous!) We will definitely return! (Totally forgot to take some pictures of this fun little park!)

The playground itself isn't HUGE but they had fun. I don't really like how far away the swings and spinning equipment is from the main playground. It's hard to keep an eye on different kids when they are so spread out. I did like that the main playground has the rubber ground cover but the swings and the spinning "thing" had those messy wood chips There are MANY walking paths around the park. They all zig zag around. Incorporated around the trails are some built in workout equipment. A couple picnic tables are here as well so pack a lunch! I guess they are fracking right next to the playground. There is a huge barrier wall which I had to inquire about. I was told that was supposed to help sound proof... I didn't hear anything so either it works or they weren't actually doing it at the moment. We liked this park so we'll be back.

Along with the playground, this park also includes a baseketball court and a baseball/kickball field. Part of this playground has that cushy rubber ground cover and the rest has wood chips. My main issue with this park is the playground's proximity to the road. It makes me SUPER NERVOUS. There are some drivers going entirely WAY TOO F-ING fast down E Golf Course and I worry about my littlest wandering off into the street. Therefore, I position myself between the playground and the street. All in all, decent playground but I find myself on edge the whole time we're here due to the traffic.

Centennial Park is located right in front of the hotel I stay at in Midland for work as well as a…read morehandful of customers' offices. You also may be familiar with it if you work in oil and gas as the Bush Convention Center is located next to each other and hosts conferences. The park is clean and well-maintained with plenty of seating all around the park, a large grass area in the middle of it, and a pleasant sidewalk for walking and responding to emails (what you can normally find me doing). The vegetation could be maintained a bit better and the bathrooms are always "closed for cleaning". I am thankful to have this park where it is and will continue to use it going forward.

The course itself is beautiful and generally well maintained, which keeps me coming back. That said, my experience with the front desk staff hasn't always matched the quality of the course. Interactions tend to feel a bit rushed and not very welcoming--usually just a quick "what's your tee time?" with little friendliness or conversation. I understand everyone has off days, but a more positive and inviting atmosphere would really elevate the overall experience. I still enjoy playing here and would recommend it for the course itself. With a slightly more welcoming approach up front, this place could easily be a top-tier experience all around.

While getting registered was easy, the experience at the end of our visit left a nasty taste in our mouth. One staff member was very rude to my child stating "I'm not afraid to be the bad guy" while trying to wrangle our child to leave. Yes, it was a difficult situation but we did NOT invite her to help NOR appreciate her words or tone. While I don't expect my child to be coddled, I do expect adults to be respectful. It makes me wonder if they truly are serving all children on the spectrum.
