I'm currently in my sophomore year, and it took some adjusting to the rules when I first arrived. Understand that not every institution is going to model after your exact desires and values. PCC upholds excellence, purity, and morality where so many Christian-labeled colleges do not. If you come here with the right mindset and a willingness to persevere, you're going to be alright. You'll learn more about Christ and the Bible than you ever thought you could. Every major decision made by PCC or Campus Church is strongly influenced and/or directed by Scripture, which should be our own guide to life decisions.

As a recent graduate of PCC of '21, I am well versed in the recent college experience. First, the college itself is great. The atmosphere is fantastic and college life itself is beyond what I could've imagined. Yes, there are some teachers that are not as loving and not as compassionate as others; however, if you find the correct teachers, your college experience is great. Second, the rules are strict. As a Christian myself I find that the rules are a bit strict for my own convictions. I believe tattoos are fine, holding my girlfriends hand, and going off campus with the opposite gender is fine. The problem is the bad students will do what's wrong regardless of the rules. The rules are only prohibiting the students who just want to have a normal life back. Since I've been there, they have allowed coed groups off campus which is awesome! Overall, your gonna have some run-ins with chaperones that just don't like you, like me and my wife had while dating and engaged there. Third, if you pick the right collegian, you will have more fun then you can imagine. Picking the right collegian will help you grow so much as a person as you will meet so many new friends through that Avenue. Lastly, don't listen to some of these reviews saying that they are hateful people. The college does what it believes is right. CHRISTIANITY HAS CHRISTIAN LIBERTY! Some people don't believe tattoos are correct and some do. Are either one wrong? No! Because of Christian liberty, you are basing your life off of your own conviction through Christ. As an environment to grow in through Christ, it was amazing and I have met lifelong friends here. Please don't believe some of these post from people who were from 30 years ago or just didn't go to college here. Yes, sometimes there is some judgmental messages; however, the church is not perfect and you will not find a perfect church. One thing I hope PCC improves on is letting students go get involved with community churches. That would be such an improvement to the spiritual aspect of the college. That is far from the truth. The students and faculty are severely taken advantage of. This school is all about money, money, money. Money in the pockets of those who run it. I am a student and do not feel as if I've gotten a quality education, especially for the tuition prices. Nothing is updated. The science students have no new technology. There are leaks in the ceilings, constant problems with the A/C, blindsiding, high turnover of staff and so much more. Please, please reconsider attending or allowing your child to attend Spring Hill College. It will be more hassle than it's worth.

The tuition is exceptional for a private school and they accept Step Up for Students. They also allow for shadow days where interested students can sit in for a day to see what it's like. The county of Mobile is a laid-back place where nothing is really done fast. People are nice…read morehelpful and friendly down home hard-working folks. The downtown area of the city is being revitalized (aren't almost all cities being revitalized now?) and it is filled with vibrant shops, restaurants, speakeasies, and eclectic shopping boutiques. Now, it is more safe to walk anywhere downtown than it is to walk in other parts of the city. It has never been that way since the time that I grew up here. There are tourist, attractions (botanical gardens, oldest Mardi Gras Africatown science, center, etc.), history, and a beauty about this area that just must be experienced. Temperatures are mild 50s to 70s all year except in the summertime (June, July and August), when it can be oppressively, hot (80-low 100) and humid. Beaches (west to Biloxi, MS, south to Dauphin Island, or Gulf Shores, or east to Pensacola, Florida) are just a 50 minute drive from downtown Mobile. Beach fronts in Fairhope are just a 15 or 20 minute drive away depending upon traffic on the causeway (I-10 bridge over Mobile Bay). Although the cost of living is relatively low, the 10% sales tax is quite annoying. As of 3/16/2024, Alabama does not have a lottery, so people drive to Florida for that (though it's illegal...I think) or they drive to Biloxi Mississippi to gamble at the casinos and take advantage of delicious, expansive buffets there. While, Mobile is not the thriving port that it used to be in the 1800s and 1900s, it still imports and exports many goods and is a major ship building and metalworking area. After a long hiatus, Amtrak and cruise ships will again offer service to the city. There are two area airports, one rinky-dink regional one that can only accommodate small jets and a large government airstrip that was abandoned in the early 70s. The city is finally making the airstrip a commercial airport and flights are beginning to arrive and depart from there. Don't get me started on the selfish greed and obtuse leadership in the 70s and early 80s that prevented Brookly Field from becoming the cities, Airport. Instead, palms were greased, and that absurdly small regional airport, which could only accommodate really small, jets and cropduster planes. Now Mobile is trying to expand, catch-up and recover from small minded politicians and bad decisions that were done in the 70s and 80s which prevented the city from growing like New Orleans, Atlanta and Pensacola Florida have grown. I am excited for its positive future.

I am thankful the Church is open to walk and tour during the day when mass is not taking place, and we enjoyed hearing the massive pipe organ as it was being worked on during our visit. Don't miss the prayer chapel down the stairs on the front left side of the church. A great free visit for every visitor to Mobile to enjoy the majesty of the building and its gravitas. Truly an outstanding, innovative school with many activities and creative ideas to make your child excited about learning.
