Between my three young children we have been coming here a lot over the past 6 1/2 years. The staff has always been friendly, efficient, and professional. Dr. Bryden is our pediatrician and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her! She has always made feel comfortable and has given so much great advice. We have also seen other doctors over the years when we have had to change our appointment. Everyone we have encountered is patient and kind including the front desk ladies. I recommend Central Coast Pediatrics to friends and family even though it is a little bit of a drive for us. We all understand the suffering that the inherent derth of qualified and capable medical services brings if stuck living in the county of San Luis Obispo, but Central Coast Pediatrics has failed us as a family like no else. Aside from the cruel indifference the referral department repeatedly demonstrates with their delays and feeble excuses, we are no closer to getting the necessary paperwork in to Valley Children's Hospital so that my 6 year old son can finally get the hearing aides he has needed since being a newborn (which they have continuously failed to detect or diagnose). I would look elsewhere, if one has the means, for professional health care for your child/children. They just don't care at Central Coast Pediatrics. read more

WORST UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE!!!!!! My daughter has came here since she was born under the care of Dr.Lim. Not once but TWICE!!!!! They've cancelled an appointment without correctly notifying me or the father. We take time off from work and schedule our lives around appointments and they don't have the decency to make sure their scheduling is correctly handled. The second time it happened I showed up and they stated "your doctor is no longer working here and we notified you we cancelled your appointment". Well that's a LIE because your billing department called me TWO days ago to get my insurance for our upcoming appointment. So you guys can make sure to get ahold of us for money but not to tell us you cancelled an appointment?!?! She said she called us in the beginning of August... well I had called just two weeks ago because my daughter was feeling ill and I wanted to bring her in and nothing was mentioned then either. This is probably why the Doctor left this establishment because of the incompetence. DO NOT COME HERE!!!! What a joke this place is and the attitude from the front desk staff just adds a cherry on top of everything. You don't even need my review as you can see I'm not the only one who agrees this place is a shit show. GET YOUR STUFF TOGETHER or hire better trained employees. read more

Nobody answers the phone to pay the bill. Like other reviewers mentioned: They had their doctors left; however, the way they handle their existing customers can not be worst. Please stop going this place so they know they are not in the customer service industry. They simply don't care about you, about your child and the most important thing- their business. Front desks employees don't show that they want to work. They are the face of the office and they show customers the very bad face. Please let other customers know if you have the same feelings about this place like our family feel. I hope they will listen, but I am very skeptical about this! I love my sons dr. But the front office staff needs work, when I call they sound half asleep like I'm interrupting their mid day nap. It sounds like they are so bothered to have to answer the phone. We finally were able to get out of this office. We had Julie Ansemlo and she is nice.... seems a little stand offish in building a relationship with us and seemed to brush off some concerns with both kids. I felt mom shamed when she did tell me I was over feeding him milk/formula... granted my kid is SOLID but there isn't a roll on him (confirmed with new doctor at our new practice we were not overfeeding, my son was not overweight and he was doing great). Every visit in this office is like a big deal and not easy on the parents. I was given a hard time about my insurance cards having my name on them and not my kids and EVERYTIME explained that is how Anthem does it. If they don't like it they can call and tell them how to run their business (which is not effective given I have tried with this office and I get told "it is just how we do things"). Also, why can't they have a copy of the insurance and run it everytime BEFORE we come in but nope a stink everytime about the card. Last time we came there and it was the final straw was we were treated like utter trash by the girl checking us in outside about my insurance and then my daughter who is 3 was not SICK persay but was dealing with some "itching" and they said because of that we had to go in the sick entrance... well they forgot we were there and were in the back for 20 minutes before being let in and no apology. Told us due to COVID that my daughter would need to be seen in a sick room and my son who was there for wellness in a different room. I asked how on earth that made sense given these kids are in the SAME HOUSE. And they are santizing after every patient anyways. I also told them she wasn't SICK and I don't want her in a sick room. I finally got my way. When my husband asked about the flu shot they told us initially due to exposure risk we would have to COME back and get it on the clinic day that Saturday or a Saturday they could get us in. My husband was like... it is a BIGGER risk to bring them BACK here again. We finally got our way for both, but my husband was done. Worst run office, rudest front office staff who obviously don't like what they do.... they all need to remember they work for US the parents in caring for our children and they shouldn't make us feel like we should be utterly grateful to be seen. We made the switch in the Fall to Dr Bravo's office. OH WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Any perspectives reading this DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE. My first visit here was for my son's circumcision and we saw Dr. Biddle and she was so rude and condescending about my concerns... I mean they were about to cut my son who was 2 weeks old... and she cut me off when I asked a question and was like "you need to stop and let me finish". I almost wanted to switch then but since she wasn't going to be my kids doctor I let it go.... but yeah so glad to be out of this practice. read more

Front desk is obnoxiously inefficient. They have zero urgency and lack professional courtesy and normal people skills. The nurse do no seem to understand typical health questions and on average answer with you should probably come in and see the Dr. We are new in town and didn't know better, but quickly found this is not a great place to come. read more

The Templeton office is amazing- I always get a quick call back if I need something and they're unable to answer. The check in process is super easy and I've only had to present my daughters insurance card one time. I just moved so I am going to be taking her to the SLO office. changing that was done along with my request for a refill on a script. I was surprised at how super easy and efficient they were. I am hoping the previous negative statements aren't directed towards the SLO office. I'll gladly drive to Templeton for the awesome office staff as well as Dr. Macias if so. read more

The front desk is really lazy and unprofessional. I called to check if my insurance was in network, was transferred to a voice mail left a message and never received a call back. I decided to call back since my kid needs to see a doctor, the front desk girl whatever her name is, said she will pass on my information and if the doctors have any availability they would call back except she did not bother to get my name or my phone number. Dr. Macias has been my sons pediatrician for nearly two years now, on top of being the primary care provider for all of my sisters and brothers in law for 30 years. I can't thank him enough for how reassuring, easygoing, and helpful he's been with my experience as a first time mother. He always listens to my comments and concerns and makes me feel better while providing helpful advice. All the MAs are very kind and efficient and always make my son and I feel welcome. You can never get a nurse on the line when you call and leaving a message is a waste of time because you don't get a call back. Like others have said not very helpful front desk staff. Called to see if they were taking new patients for my 3 month old since I just moved to SLO and it would be closer. All she said was "We only take newborns who have been seen at the hospital" wow ok. Website is all inviting saying they love new patients and to call and make an appt, yet I'm being told otherwise over the phone. My child sees Dr. Battle whom we have found to be a breath of fresh air, very easy to deal with; we like her very much. A good thing about this pediatrics group is that you can be scheduled with another doctor if your usual one can't see your child quickly. We haven't had any complaints about any other pediatrician that my child has seen or about any services received. We don't have any complaints about the office staff either, which is a great relief to me, because I've come across so many front office people who ruin the experience for you no matter what the doctor is like. The interior of the establishment is nice, with the reception desk well placed, a separate waiting area for germy kids, toys and books to keep kids interested, and nice tall bead mazes that my child really enjoys. I couldn't give five stars though, because they have few parking spaces and, when they are full, you have to pay to park on the street. I hate paying to park to do something necessary like go to a doctor. read more

This pediatrics office is great. All the staff is super friendly, I've seen about five different doctors by now and they are all very well educated, helpful, and attentive. A shout out to Dr. Lim! I have three teenaged daughters and Dr. Lim is absolutely wonderful with them. She is engaging, funny and seems genuinely interested in their lives. I am so grateful that such a smart and caring female doctor is looking out for my daughter's health. Dr. Lim is such a great role model for them. The well checks are thorough and informative. Dr. Lim is able to educate my girls about their overall health (nutrition, exercise, sleep, etc.) in a way that I would never be able to do as a mom. A mom's advice sometimes is met with an eye roll. But not Dr. Lim. I highly recommend Dr. Lim to anyone who is looking for an all around great pediatrician! Especially if you have girls! Wonderful doctors and hats what matters. However, as precious comments have stated, the front desk is unprofessional and not helpful. When dealing with insurance/billing, they were not helpful at all. It is shocking how rude or not able to effectively explain information to me. I'm not one to leave reviews but felt the need to. I have been taking my three kids (18, 12 and 10) to Central Coast Pediatrics (CCP) for many years, the Medical staff and Doctors are top notch. I was concerned when Dr. Long retired from CCP we would have a hard time finding a good fit for our family. However, I trust Dr. Battle and I recommend her to my friends. The nurses are good at triage (Thanks to Sandy) and the referrals to specialists are completed in a timely manner. The front office staff are friendly and helpful! The entire staff at CCP is awesome! It's a VERY busy office and they do their best to accommodate everyone- even CenCal patients... which some Drs. in town won't even see!!! My son had been seen by this office for 13years, it's always had great doctors but absolutely HORRIBLE front office staff. I've had friends leave this office as patients to go elsewhere due to the front office staff. I have put up with it till now. My son was sick and I gave updated medical insurance information over the phone. The next day at 2:30 we show up with a sick kiddo and they tell me after I filled all paperwork out and waited to be seen... that our insurance is no longer excepted by them. I was honestly beyond myself that they didn't tell us prior. I guess they did that in hopes I would pay out of pocket cash as they so kindly said I could do. No apology or anything or making us wait and then not being able to see us. We now will be going elsewhere. I advise anyone to stay away from this practice due to there lack of concern for a sick child and lack of insurance knowledge and communication. read more

So sad to leave after 4 years since my sons' doctor has been amazing, but we had a horrible nurse during our last visit and I'm over It. We've always had great experiences but I don't mess around when it comes to my kids, so just one bad time is enough to make me leave. This lady had the worst attitude while examining my 4 year old. Kids move around and have short attention spans, mine is also on an IEP. probably shouldn't be in pediatrics if you don't have patience. We were so nervous about finding a good ped after moving to SLO. We had to take our 13-month old in unexpectedly and were able to get a same-day appointment with Dr. Bryden. She was awesome. The staff was also very friendly and informative. Everyone was on-time and we were out of there in less than 30 minutes. Everyone was pleasant, friendly, and put me at ease. I highly recommend this doctor's office. Free parking in the adjacent lot which is always a plus. read more

My 5 year old son has seen Dr. Battle literally since birth. We LOVE her! She is warm, genuine, reassuring and knows her stuff! We have also seen Dr. Lo who is very knowledgable as well. We have so seen a few of the other docs there when Dr. Battle wasn't available. I have no complaints about any of the doctors we have seen! The staff is awesome! We have always gotten in any time we needed. You do have to leave a message for triage when you call for a sick kid appointment but they are really good about getting back to you quickly and getting you in if necessary. The employees behind the desk always speak Spanish. I just feel that if you work behind the desk even if you talk to your co workers English should be spoken. It makes it very uncomfortable and I honestly don't know if they talking bad about me. Just don't do it. Do it at home but not work. The doctor we go to (Dr. Macias) is good, but his staff is incompetent and unorganized. My son has serious conditions that need to be periodically monitored. He unfortunately can't get in to see him. I've had three issues with the last three appointments. Last summer, when we tried to reschedule an appointment, Macias' assistant would not return calls. Since she didn't respond, we had to wait until February (when trying to schedule in July) with main reception. We just went in today for our appointment, but Macias had called in sick. We were given the option to reschedule in August with Macias. I've never seen that before at a doctor's office. Normally if a doctor has to reschedule, they work you in within the next couple of weeks. Instead we took seeing a PA in 2 weeks, but she is not his doctor. We also had a flu shot recently, and the nurse chastized us for not coming in for his checkup in so long. WE TRIED!!! I hope Macias actually reads this review and knows what the staff is doing to his patients. read more

This office came highly recommended by many of my friends and family. Dr Rowland was my pediatrician when I was growing up. So naturally I call them when we were staying with my parents for a month in Town. My daughter has a returning ear infection so I just needed a follow up appointment to an urgant care visit. But of course they do not take visiting patients. I am very disappointed. I was born and raised here. We have insurance and everything else. I don't understand why they wouldn't see her.
