Saturdays are busy. Everybody had the same idea.

First time in on a Saturday. The meat counter was very busy. The line moved but it took some time. Love being able to get special sausages, linguica, mild and hot Italian sausage in a long cord. They cook on the grill and serve so much better. Very friendly and respectful employees. Even though it was tough for the employees to walk around to replenish the open fridges with all the customers in their way, you only heard respectful "excuse me, thank you". Central meats always earns my five stars!

If you see these in the case - buy them. These will be some of the best burgers you'll eat.

Folks we have visited this store for maybe 25+ years and now we live more than a hour away and still make the trip ever other month or so. Even though we have another place closer - they can't beat Central Meats. The meats have always been outstanding. I'd recommend the Delmonico steaks if you're looking for a real treat. But really no mater if we bought pork, beef or chicken everything has been better then the chain supermarkets. I'd also suggest going online and getting a coupon for a buy one get one free of their BBQ. Saves you about $8 and then you can a heck of a BBQ meal one night. As for service: on the weekend or holiday week, it can be a bit chaotic but the staff do real good at getting folks through. It's been awhile but I have also had them process a few deer that I've harvested during the season. Alway seemed to be a fair price and with a quick turn around. So if you're looking for a real butcher shop with great products - go ahead a shop here. You won't be disappointed.

Great meats, great variety. Central meats seem to increase their culinary inventory more and more. I stop in my tracks with the variety of offerings sometimes. Spices that are hard to find with competitive prices. The butchers at the counter are always ready to assist and answer a question. I always know what I want when I shop here, and there is just so much more you walk out with! Reminds me of the butcher shops from New York dad always took me to, when buying a side of cow for our freezer.

Absolutely cheap, absolute fresh, no preservatives, and much cheaper and better than super market meat.

Do they sell Picanha? It is a cut of beef popular in Brazil that is the untrimmed cap of the sirloin. Thanks!

Hi James, Yes we sell Picanha.

They constructed this "shack" to give a storefront to their meat selection alongside Cartwright Farms, and it's a great place to shop. They also sell local honey, jams, pickles, and other jarred goods, along with some swag and other goodies. It's pretty serene out there too!

The Vaughan Family has been farming and living on the same land since the early 1700's…read more Sustainable farming is not just a phrase, it is a way of life passed down from generation to now the 8th generation. They have been named a Century Farm in Virginia, and now also a Bicentennial Farm and are proud to still be actively farming. Sustainable farming is a way of ensuring that the land, and all its resources are maintained for future generations. Promoting soil health, managing water runoff and using natural fertilizing techniques are all ways that they are being good stewards of the land. This has always been a way of life, but the business of Coastal Cattle began as an idea of their then12 year old daughter in 2014, and has expanded since then. She wanted to use her knowledge of cattle gained through local 4H livestock club and start a herd. Her very first project steer at the age of 10 was a Hereford and she instantly fell in love with the breed. They are docile, easy to work with, great for children to be around and of course beautiful! She and her sister helped to pick out the first bred heifers and cows that started Coastal Cattle. The original idea was to start raising pure-bred show cattle to be used for our local area 4H Livestock shows as well as other regional livestock competitions. Showing cattle is a lot of work, and a lot of fun, but eventually they started thinking bigger. They were hearing the desires of so many people who want to know where their food is coming from. People want to be in control of what they put into their bodies, and they quickly saw and understood the need for a good product. So expanding into the direct marketing of the beef produced by the ever expanding herd was the natural progression of the farm. Incorporating rotational grazing, and the herd into other farming practices has proven beneficial for the land and the farm. They go hand in hand, crops and livestock. Not only are they producing a good product for the consumers, but they're protecting our natural resources as well.

VA Goods is located in Selden Market, the incubator space mall in Downtown Norfolk, and it offers exactly that, goods made in VA. You can find anything to food products, jewelry and even glass blown items that is made my the owner herself, who is a glass blowing artist, among many things. - Parking - There is street parking available, as well as, the parking garages nearby. The one I like to park at when going to Selden Market is the Hilton Main parking garage as it is attached to Selden Market. If you get off on level P1, it will lead you directly inside Selden Market. What I found: I was specifically looking for VA-themed stickers and thankfully I found one that is in the shape of the state, with mountains on it with VA printed on it. I also found some VA is for lovers rubber keychains and VA peanuts! I got some chocolate covered and some Old Bay flavored. Mmm, maybe my friend will let me taste them once I give it to her LOL. You know how it is, just before going on a trip....so many things to do, so little time. I was so grateful this was a quick and fruitful trip! I got most of everything I needed and I was out within 15 minutes! Pro tip: At the time of this writing, they are offering a check-in offer on Yelp of 20% off your first purchase! This is subject to change at any time, so don't hold me to it if it's not available anymore when you go. You snooze, you pay full price. If you are looking for unique items from VA, VA Goods is the place to go! Enjoy, Friends, and never stop exploring!
