I walked in say hi got good hi, inside was clean and good. The service was awesome. I finally came to Shopwise Meat Market since its been around for a long time each time I drive down seaboard road to go to my uncles place on seaboard road. I never went into that shopping strip ever. I go every Monday forgetting it was close so I never got a chance I wanted to go this Tuesday, but it was raining after going shopping around landstown so on the way home i was like just go home because I also had ice cream in a cooler so didn't want it to melt either. The item I got was The Italian. It is huge and very good very fresh, next time would try the works. It is very flavorful with the oil and vinegar on the sub hoagie. Butcher of meats on one side and sub sandwich on other side. I would come again next time

Thanks to Shopwise Meat Market, I'm never getting a sub other than a local butcher shop. The Italian sub that I got was GIGANTIC! Not only that, but the meat and ingredients were super fresh. They're definitely not shy on giving out those fresh deli meat and hoagie dressing. I had to finish this up in three meals.

Best sandwiches around!!! Reminds me of a NY deli!! If you get the works on a sandwich no extra charges or fees. They always go above and beyond for customers! They also have a great selection of quality meat/cuts with great prices! Hands down the BEST sub in Virginia Beach!

Shopwise Meat Market reminds me of the 70's TV show The Brady Bunch. Ya know Sam's butcher shop. OH it's Great. They not only have an awesome butcher selection they have a good lunch menu. We picked up The Italian sub with "THE WORKS". Nice big sub, Fresh, Full of yummy flavor. Really hit the spot. Take out only. They have a drink cooler and you can get a bag of chips. The meat counter is A M A ZING!!!! You want it they have it. They even have seasoning for the grill of all kinds and they sell smokers that talk to your phone. SUPER COOL. I really wish they had some seating outside but we just sat in our car and ate. With the Pandemic we are use to eating in our car. We will definitely will be frequent shoppers at Shopwise Meat Market to get meat for the grill and pick up a sub for lunch. Summer is going to be great this year now that we found this place. Oh and they have been here for 19 years. They have been around a while so go check'em out

Best Italian in VB? YES, possibly in Tidewater. Shopwise Meat Market located on Seaboard just off Princess Anne is both a meat market & sandwich shop. You probably have driven by it and never knew it was there. It's in the same strip as Brothers Pizza. I found plenty of parking, clean lot and sidewalk. Owners Jerome & Al hail from the Bronx and Harlem respectively and have worked together since the mid 70's. These two gentlemen with a combined 80+ years in the meat business know their stuff. The best selling sandwich 10 to 1 is their fresh and authentic Italian. Shopwise opened at the beach in 93 and had been at its current location for 15 years. Prior to this they were on Whitchduck. They do it all including butchering their own meat, making some of their own sauces and even processing venison. My order, their signature Italian sub with provolone, ham cappy, salami, pepperoni and "the works". Everything is authentic down to their incredible bread. To go was a Brisket sandwich for my son. The Italian was indescribably scrumptious. It's huge and was crushed in the parking lot prior to exiting. My son reported he loved the Brisket. Awesome job by sandwich maker Stuart for assembling my master piece Italian sub. They also sell Trager BBQ Grills which are considered by many to be the best smokers. Jerome was giving a tutorial of how one of the two models on the floor worked. I would recommend this meat market/sandwich shop all day long. 4.5 and rounding to a 5. Call ahead or faster service during lunch.

Huge sub!! Ham, turkey, provolone cheese, and the works (minus a couple things) $11 with tax. There are also fresh cut meats in the market as well such as breakfast sausage, steaks, ribs, stuffed pork chops, etc.

This is such a nice little place! We got sandwiches for a picnic and it was perfect! Friendly staff and HUGE sandwiches! Love the Herr's ketchup chips as well! Love to support a local shop!

When the sign out front says "fresh deli sandwiches," they're setting a very high expectation. And with the sandwich I took back to my desk for lunch, I would say that they met it. Smoked turkey wrap, all the way. Loaded with freshly sliced turkey, swiss cheese and all the veggies available, it was filling and it was tasty and it was at a pretty good price. The meat market also has... meat. So if you're looking to grill or barbecue, you can find the steaks and cuts you want right here. Note: It's take out only. No tables here.

Stop by on Saturday, they had just made up a rolled flank steak with feta and spinach. I followed the direction to cook it, and it was amazing! He does something similar with chicken breast. This place brings me back to my childhood in Chicago, you go to the butcher to determine what's for dinner. Thanks guys, keep up the great work!

    Italian Hoagie, fantastic.

Go-to place for fresh meat when I'm in town, and sandwiches are worth the visit alone. Must go. I recommend the Italian hoagie for a meal itself. If you're grilling, get the secret steak and jalapeño sausage.

They constructed this "shack" to give a storefront to their meat selection alongside Cartwright Farms, and it's a great place to shop. The Vaughan Family has been farming and living on the same land since the early 1700's…read more Sustainable farming is not just a phrase, it is a way of life passed down from generation to now the 8th generation. They have been named a Century Farm in Virginia, and now also a Bicentennial Farm and are proud to still be actively farming. Sustainable farming is a way of ensuring that the land, and all its resources are maintained for future generations. Promoting soil health, managing water runoff and using natural fertilizing techniques are all ways that they are being good stewards of the land. This has always been a way of life, but the business of Coastal Cattle began as an idea of their then12 year old daughter in 2014, and has expanded since then. She wanted to use her knowledge of cattle gained through local 4H livestock club and start a herd. Her very first project steer at the age of 10 was a Hereford and she instantly fell in love with the breed. They are docile, easy to work with, great for children to be around and of course beautiful! She and her sister helped to pick out the first bred heifers and cows that started Coastal Cattle. The original idea was to start raising pure-bred show cattle to be used for our local area 4H Livestock shows as well as other regional livestock competitions. Showing cattle is a lot of work, and a lot of fun, but eventually they started thinking bigger. They were hearing the desires of so many people who want to know where their food is coming from. People want to be in control of what they put into their bodies, and they quickly saw and understood the need for a good product. So expanding into the direct marketing of the beef produced by the ever expanding herd was the natural progression of the farm. Incorporating rotational grazing, and the herd into other farming practices has proven beneficial for the land and the farm. They go hand in hand, crops and livestock. Not only are they producing a good product for the consumers, but they're protecting our natural resources as well.

I don't usually write reviews like this, but what happened today deserves to be called out…read more I placed an order for 40 pounds of chicken leg quarters for a family Easter gathering--something that requires planning, coordination, and trust. Yesterday, I even called ahead to confirm hours and made it clear I would be picking up my order today. When I arrived, I was met with complete incompetence. My order was scribbled on a yellow Post-it note--already a red flag--and they had written the wrong date (Monday the 7th). Because of their mistake, they had sold out of chicken and had nothing to give me. No backup plan. No accountability. Nothing. So now, on a major holiday weekend, I'm left scrambling to replace 40 pounds of meat for my family. It gets worse. After leaving, I called and spoke with the owner. I expected at least a basic apology or some attempt to make things right. Instead, I got smug indifference. No ownership, no urgency, no concern. His "solution"? Offer me whole chickens cut into quarters at nearly THREE TIMES the price. That's not a solution--that's taking advantage of your own mistake. When I asked how something like this even happens, his response was essentially: "Well, I guess they wrote it down wrong." That was it. No apology. No effort to fix it. Just a shrug wrapped in arrogance. This wasn't a minor inconvenience--this was a complete failure in customer service, communication, and basic professionalism. If you're trusting this business with an important order, don't. They've shown exactly how little they value their customers when it actually matters. I won't be back.
