I have never been so happy; I have had type 1 (juvenile) diabetes since 1990. I was devastated when I had to leave my pediatric endocrinologist in Toledo. Since 2006, the struggle began to find someone brave and funny enough to oversee my care for my adult life. After moving to Columbus in 2009, I had seen one, horrible, dreadful endocrinologist before almost completely giving up. At the suggestion of a cardiologist I worked for, he took one look at me and said, "I have the perfect recommendation for you. You will love her." Wow. I was blown away. Not only does Dr. Christofides care about your individual health plan (instead of treating you like every other patient), she was personable, out going, funny and dedicated to getting my health back on track. I must admit I have since disappointed her, by neglecting my health, but she is very understanding and forgiving. If you see anyone else in the area for your diabetes, thyroid, or osteoporosis issues - shame on you. Jump on the Christofides bandwagon, because it is one hell of a ride.

I kept getting different providers with my tele visits and felt like I continuously had to answer the same questions every other time I'd have my virtual visits, specifically, my bloodwork. I wanted to give the Gameday Reynoldsburg a try. As soon as I walked in the door, I felt at home and liked I belonged on their team. Each and every person I interacted with made me feel comfortable and very welcome. Everyone had great synergy and showed much passion to be there - which is rare this day in age. The office staff were extremely pleasant to speak with and help answer any questions I had. I happened speak briefly with the Ryan the owner, and he said I could get my lab work done, hang out in the locker room/waiting room and wait for my results and get a plan and start treatment. My mind was instantly blown! I have not been to any other facility where I can get my results in less than 15 minutes then start treatment same day. I did bring my past blood results just in case so I could speak with the provider about. Mike, the NP, was extremely informative as to what's happening and the why and made me feel like I was the most important person he was seeing all day. He instilled in me confidence and a tailored plan that I have not experienced with any other provider I have been to. Also, I was playing basketball at church recently and reinjured an old injury from college. Mike walked me through the process of shockwave therapy and how it will help relieve pain in my shoulder. I have been a patient for over 5 years. I called 3 times and got put on hold for an exorbitantly…read morelong time. I was racing my child for emergency medical care and I simply had to tell them (out of courtesy) that I needed to cancel an appt I had due to the fact that I was literally racing my little girl to the ER. I call back, she asks to put me on hold again, I pleaded with her not to, she started arguing with me and yelling saying people are never on hold that long and she wouldn't stop arguing with me long enough to even let me say I was simply calling to cancel my appt due to the fact that I had to race my child to the emergency room. Usually the staff is very nice but this lady, who answers to phone all the time, was rude, argumentative and inappropriate. Shame on her. When someone is pleading and begging and in tears you don't yell at them! And I had been calling as a courtesy. Given I was headed to the hospital ER with my child I didn't need to call them but wanted to because that's what honest, good people do. I am so blown away by getting yelled at by the moody lady that sits at the very front. Completely changed my opinion of the place.

In my experience, most doctors expect you to update them with your history even though you have already provided it in your chart. My history is lengthy and complex and it was clear she read it based on the questions she asked. She also listened to my concerns and continues to try to accommodate medication requests. She explains issues in detail so you can understand. She has gotten my thyroid disorder under control. I am grateful to have finally found a good endo again. It is difficult finding a doctor who cares. Unfortunately, we seem to be more of a number these days.

I needed a CT scan done and my doctor sent me to the Eastside Health Center. They called me to set up the appointment and pre-register me. When I got there I was taken in almost immediately to complete the rest of the paperwork and confirm insurance. Please note: Make sure you tell them you want THEM to bill your insurance company or they will bill you and you have to fight with the insurance company to pay it. After I finished with the paperwork side, Lynn walked me through and was with me the rest of the process. She explained everything so thoroughly, brought me the contrast to drink, put the IV in, and administered the test. She was so kind that even thinking about it now is bringing me to tears. She calmed my nerves and made me as comfortable as it could be. If everyone is as nice as Lynn at Ohio Health, I will definitely make it a point to go to their facilities for tests.
