Please listen to these reviews, guys. Your service and communication are both horrible. Was told my frames would be ready in 2-3 weeks, so gave them a courtesy call today after a month of no word. After being on hold for awhile, was told the color frame that was ordered is only in a smaller size, so NOTHING was ordered. Receptionist was surprised that no one reached out to me. The car salesman dude who sets you up with glasses is only there 2 days a week, and didn't strike me as the type to catch something like this and promptly communicate. I canceled my glasses, said it would take 1-2 weeks to refund back on my card. Do better. read more

I usually never enjoy going to doctors appointments anymore but the staff was top notch. The girls up front were so helpful with paperwork and they even estimated the cost of my appointment before I came in. It was also very refreshing to have a doctor actually listen to my needs and go the extra mile to make sure they were met. It's so nice to know I don't have to travel out of town anymore for my eye exams. Definitely will be coming back! read more

Absolutely awful customer service. Go anywhere else. These people do not value your business and certainly don't care about customer satisfaction. In 40 years of wearing glasses I have never had lenses that disintegrated before within 2 years, or any length of time for that matter. The optician expected me to believe that it was normal for lenses of this age. Don't spit in my face and tell me it's raining. read more

I do not usually write reviews but felt my recent experience with Central Oregon Eye Care in Sisters warranted one. Excuse the length of this review. I was very overdue and hadn't been to an eye doctor in years but knew I needed an exam and new prescription for reading glasses. In recent years I had been seen in Bend but decided to go locally. From the get go the gal who did my basic testing seemed unsure with how to operate the equipment, which didn't make me feel very confident in the testing. The doctor, who did some additional testing (without dilating my eyes), tells me within minutes of coming into the room that I have eye damage behind both my eyes and that I have Glaucoma. I sat there utterly shocked as I was just thinking I needed a new prescription. I am not elderly and have no history in my family at all. She says I will need to come in every 3 months for monitoring and likely need surgeries down the road. I was devastated. I was then told I needed to go for further testing at the Redmond clinic, which I did. During my testing I explained to the tech how concerned I was since hearing this diagnosis. She said that it could take up to 2 weeks to get the results back because the doctor is behind on notifying patients on their results but that if my results showed something serious that I would receive a call right away. I hear nothing for 2 weeks and because I'd like to know and am not feeling confident that I will hear back anytime soon I stop into the Sisters Clinic and explain that i'd like to know asap. The receptionist looked up my chart and said that my results hadn't even been reviewed by the doctor yet. I was in disbelief! Had there been something serious it wouldn't have even been known yet. The gal preceded to tell me by looking at it herself that things looked normal but because I was so concerned that she would make it a top priority and have the doctor call me. Great! A couple hours later I receive a call back but from the receptionist saying she spoke with the doctor and she said my results were normal. So I said, "so I don't have glaucoma"?, to her reply "no"! As relieved as I was at the moment of confirmation, I was upset for all the worry, misdiagnosis and lack of communication. Very disappointed that the doctor couldn't have taken one minute of her time to call me herself. I wouldn't not recommend them to anyone. read more

As a resident of Sisters I try to find local services, but this place has been the biggest nightmare. I have had nothing but awful and irresponsible service from them, starting with the Dr. not signing my prescription and sending it off and not being available for two weeks to fix it, I waited over an hour for an eye test appt only to be informed a week later they gave me the wrong one and I would have to go into Bend (40 mins away) to get it redone. Then my contact prescription was wrong and I was stuck with contacts I can't wear... and the list goes on. Just avoid them. read more

We are residents of Sisters...Very disappointed in the quality of customer service and/or follow through at the Sisters office. My husband needed his glasses Prescription to take to an appointment in Bend. Starting at 10am he called to get a Records Release Authorization, then I called twice and spoke to the receptionist, 3 more calls by Vision Works in Bend...his RX was finally sent over at the very end of the following day. It shouldn't take more than a minute to fax a Records Release Form and then follow through with a patients RX. Looking for a new Optometry office to move our business to who can take care of their patients in a timely & respectful manner. read more

Can't believe the perfunctory 'non-greeting' by the receptionist who was so busy looking into her computer that she never made eye contact, and offered nothing in the way of help in my search for Rx sunglasses. Her only response was "If you need anything, let me know" while never looking at me. After trying to find them open during the middle of the day and on Saturday, this 'third times the charm' visit was anything but charming. Every time I come here I feel overwhelmed. They are definitely the used car salesmen of Eyecare. They're gonna sit you down away from the doctor and try to sell you tons of extras and tell you that your not following your prescription if you go somewhere else. I'm sorry but if others don't sell what your trying to sell me that doesn't make you the elite eye care office; it means that there's something wrong. Would NEVER recommend for anyone. Oh, and they'll only only give you a year prescription. And yes they'll be rude and snotty about all of this. read more

I went today for an eye exam. The worst customer service I've experienced in years! The front desk girl and the woman showing me frames were both extremely rude. I bought six pairs of inexpensive reading glasses from them a year ago.The girl showing me frames today told me they "didn't have the low-priced frames any longer". When I called the manager to complain about the treatment I received, she told me they did have the lower priced frames. The woman showing me frames told me the cheapest frames they had were $150 and the office manager told me they had $75 frames. I would recommend buying your glasses somewhere else. read more

I appreciate Dr. Shelson and his care. He has been gracious with services needed. Unfortunately, that is where my positivity ends. For over one year my husband and I were battling the billing department over a bill we had received which is rather unfortunate to say the least. The office billing department is not stellar as far as claims go and the office as a whole grossly misrepresents their prices. On three separate occasions we have been overcharged and the lag time in their billing exceeds months. To date, I have left several voicemails asking for a return call and have yet to hear from anyone. Sadly, my family will not be returning to the office. There are less expensive places to go in Central Oregon with the same quality of care Dr. Sheldon provided. read more

COE coupon is deceptive. Must buy glasses there. Over priced small selection. My exam was rushed, inefficient and ineffective. Medical maleficence led to an additional eye exam at significant time and expense, COE would not retest with out additional charges. The 900.00 loss incurred due to COE's lack of professional integrity and ability infringed dramatically on my fixed Social Security income. I now have to go through the time, trouble and expense to have another eye exam and new glasses made. I plan to follow up this Yelp review with formal complaints to various federal, state and local agencies to help ensure COE does not continue to defraud through false advertisements and commit medical malpractice on others. If you value your time, money and eyesight do NOT become a 'patient/customer' of COE. read more

Being new in Sisters, I honestly made my initial appointment for convenience, as they had a location close to my home. I was thoroughly impressed with the staff! I was greeted by a friendly smiling receptionist, Stephanie and only waited 2-3 minutes to be called in by their technician, Juanita, who seemed genuinely interested in my well being. Dr. Oulman gave me an exam, came up with my prescription and couldn't have been nicer, as well as being highly competent. Next was Brenda, the optician. She helped pick out frames, did the necessary measurements and was as pleasant as her colleagues. All in all a positive experience, that ended up even better!!! Three months later, due to my having developed severe allergies that were affecting my vision, I went back for a re-examination. The same great staff was working, and I ultimately found out I needed a different prescription for my two pairs of glasses. Expecting to pay several hundred dollars to replace two sets of progressive blended lenses, I was shocked when Brenda informed me there would be no charge!!! Even though the change in lenses was due to a physical condition id developed, I was told their policy was six months free replacement if your prescription changes. Instead of paying for two sets of lenses, I ended up being charged for only the exam. If that doesn't rock, nothing does!!! A great Doctor, surrounded by a dynamite staff, with outstanding customer service and value. What's not to love!!! read more

I am new to the area so I wasn't quite sure what to expect from a local small town optometrist. From the moment I walked in I was treated like a person, not just a "number". Front staff was kind and friendly. I found the technician to be knowledgable and the doctor himself took time to explain things. He spent time with me, not just tried to get me in and out as fast as he could. I was pleased with the overall experience and will return. read more

I'm a local and have never been more disappointed. I have insurance--exam was fine. Took over 3 weeks to get my glasses-paid over$400 and I could not see a thing with them. Took a week to get back I. To be to,d oops the prescription was wrong and it would now be another $300! I was shown the small--"no refunds" print and that I pretty much had no other choice but to pay or lose my original payment. I felt extorted--next time I'll do Costco instead. It will be anoth two weeks before I get these glasses and if his don't work--guess I'm out $700. read more

I am in total agreement with the other reviews saying they were disappointed in the customer service. I went in for an eye exam because I needed to get more contacts. I was very impressed with Dr. Sheldon and his tech, but the positive stops there. I was unable to find contacts that were appropriate at my appointment so they said they would order several others for me to try and they would contact me when they came in. After 2 months, I had not received a call. I was using my last pair of contacts and called the office (phone was actually answered by the Redmond office because they were short staffed in Sisters) to order the current contacts which I am using. I was told that they were unable to do that because I did not have a prescription. What about the one for the contacts I have now??? Very frustrating and it was a very expensive exam. No follow up from their office to see if I could come in to remedy the situation. I will go somewhere else from now on. read more
