Do not believe the low ratings. I think some people here have very unrealistic expectations and maybe haven't gotten burned on Facebook Mktplace enough times. For many years I tried to find the cheapest deals on firewood and in the end you save very little money and make your life so much more difficult. This was going to be the fourth year we bought wood from Central Oregon Firewood, (The Firewood Store). In the past the wood has been a reasonable deal. We would receive a full cord of dry seasoned wood. It would be fairly clean without a lot of dirt, rocks, or very small wood chunks at a fair price. This year, when my wife answered the door, Ryan greeted her with the question "Where do you want the f..king wood?" The rest of the conversation while not profane was no less rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. When Ryan brought the truck and trailer to the gate where I wanted the wood dropped his first reaction was to state, "This is f..cking ridiculous." Ryan was angry about the width of the area where I wanted it dropped saying it was not wide enough and the gates on both the truck and trailer would strike previously stacked wood. In the past wood had been dropped in the same place without problems, by both his company and other companies. This year however it was in his words, "F..king ridiculous." Ryan backed the trailer into the area where I wanted the wood delivered. But again told me, "This is f..king ridiculous." I suggested the wood could be dropped if it was done the same way as it had been successfully delivered in the past. He did not respond to what I said other than to state, "This is f..king ridiculous." He said he had been told the gate was 16 feet wide whereas he thought it was 12 feet wide. (it is 14 feet wide) The gate width seemed to be not an issue as he easily backed both the trailer and truck through the gate. He went on to tell me he had gotten up at 4:30 in the morning, (it was now 4:30 in the afternoon, so he had been up for twelve hours), had made a delivery in Redmond and then drove to Eugene to pick up the 17,000 lbs load he had with him. I do not understand what relevance the time of day he got up, how many other loads he had already delivered, where he had to go to pick up our order of wood, or how much the wood weighed is to me. If the order was too big for him to handle in one trip he could have said something at the time the order was placed, but he didn't. After telling me again "This is f..king ridiculous" he got in his truck and left with the wood. Judging from his response to other negative reviews I expect him to leave an explanation of why everything that transpired is my fault. I would hope he realizes his actions and the words which came out of his mouth are entirely his responsibility. If you choose to do business with Ryan, you probably will get a load of decent firewood. But there is a chance you will also get a physically mature adult throwing a profane temper tantrum a petulant five-year-old would be proud of, and maybe no wood. read more

Used them twice. Never again. The first time the driver was incredibly rude and kept telling me about how hard his day was and heavily insinuated it was my fault for ordering wood so late in the year. I felt bad for him that he had issues getting to my house and stacked the wood myself and felt like I should give him grace that he was having a bad day. Two years later I make an order again and this time he doesn't coordinate a time he will be there and I get a call from my wife that he is there and furious that I am not. Fortunately I work close to home and knew at some point I would have to leave so I left and went to meet him. Because he only accepts cash, I had to go to the bank on my way home. By the time I arrived he dumped all the wood in the driveway and left, using a string of obscenities and accusations I can't type here. I had to console my crying wife and tell her she didn't do anything wrong, then he came back and I payed him his money and told him where he could put his attitude. read more

I see that these guys have gotten a bad rep from a few people within the past two years; I'd like to throw my opinion into the mix. So my experience with all this was pretty good and I will order from them again. I ordered a full cord at $280 (take into account that this is during a high demand being that it is the middle of winter). They made the delivery window they promised (11-1) and I got the proper amount of wood with a little extra due to being the last delivery on the route for that truck. But something to clarify for the people who claim to be ripped off, just from my observation, is that these are loose cords delivered in a dump truck on a route with multiple deliveries. This means that to maximize the amount of deliveries they can do with one truck they loose some accuracy on the amount promised as it would be impossible to make sure that it was 100% a full cord. This is something to be expected when ordering your wood for delivery instead of getting it by yourself. Also, these guys do not stack your wood up for you and you shouldn't expect them to; it's a wood delivery service not an all included service. I did not expect this but I know that there are entitled people in this world who do and I just want them to know ahead of time. So stop trashing these guys because you lack the understanding of how this works. Hope this clears up the service and how it's done. read more

Their firewood is a-okay, cut to an appropriate size, correct quantity, and similar in cost to other local options, however I echo other reviewers' opinion that customer service over the phone and in person leaves something to be desired... Still, I can't argue that the driver who delivered our wood really knows how to back a trailer! I should also acknowledge I ordered wood in the middle of winter--when everything is low in stock. I do wish I had received a little more warning that the wood would be delivered on the day it arrived. I received no indication they were procuring wood for me until I received a call and text one morning saying they'd like to deliver wood in early afternoon. I was also surprised to learn payment is cash only for residential customers (business customers may write a check), so I had to leave work in the middle of the day, withdraw a large wad of cash, and coordinate delivery to a location where I also had pre-scheduled work going on (bless those electricians for being flexible and amicable about having 2 cords of wood dumped at their feet). The driver was willing to adjust the delivery time slightly and did an exceptional job backing the trailer and dropping the wood where I wanted it with a minimal amount of profanity ;-) Long story short, I'll likely order from them in the future but I'll maintain low expectations for customer service. Potential customers, please be aware the online order/request form isn't really used by the company (according to the fellow who delivered). He strongly recommends picking up the phone and calling to order wood. read more

BEWARE!!  Do NOT do business with these people! I ordered two cords of juniper firewood advertised as $225/cord on their website. I was to pay when the wood was delivered. Price at delivery was $250/cord. (??) I paid and then called the owner, Ryan, and explained that his guy charged $250 and Ryan said the price goes up at this time of the year. I asked why his website still said it was $225/cord, and he said it's because he forgot to change it. (He actually changed it while I was on the phone with him.) I also asked that it be stacked, since it was just dumped in a pile, and he said that was an additional charge. I said I know that now, since the delivery guy said it was $50 (which I agreed to), and he said he'd come back to do it in a couple days. Ryan said, no, it's $50 a cord, not $50 for two cords. Fine, that wasn't specified, but OK. I asked if, since I'd overpaid the guy $50, could it be done for $50 and we'd be even? He said he'd "work with me." The major issue I had, though, was that the wood wasn't split correctly. It was the correct length (16"), but most (and I do mean "most") of the pieces were 18" to 20" wide--way too large to burn properly. I said that when I pointed this out to the delivery guy (who is also, I learned, the splitter) he said juniper is really hard to split. I said I know that, and that's why I ordered split wood! Ryan seemed to agree and said he'd call me right back and arrange a time to have his guy come back and split the oversized pieces. That was the last I heard from him until I called back a week  and a half later. He wasn't quite so friendly this time, but he did have his guy come out that afternoon to rectify the problem. When the guy showed up, he argued with me about the size of the wood. He jettisoned his "juniper's hard to split" argument and essentially said I didn't know anything about the proper size of split wood. (I'm 69 years old and have used firewood for heating since I was 12. I think I know when wood's too big to burn properly.) He also said I was costing him $120 to come back out. I remarked that perhaps if he'd done the job properly the first time that wouldn't be the case. He then spilled gasoline in a 6' diameter circle on my new asphalt driveway when he started up his log splitter. When I pointed that out to him and explained the damage that would cause, he said "Tough shit," and things went downhill from there. After he split and stacked some of the oversized wood (he only split about a fourth of it), he began loading some of what he'd originally delivered back into his truck! When I asked what he was doing, he said he'd left too much and was taking the overage back. I said let's go measure what you're leaving, all I want is the two cords (approximately 256 cubic feet)* I paid for. We measured, agreed on the measurements, and then calculated the cubic feet. It came out to 195 cubic feet. He insisted that was two cords worth when common knowledge (and Ryan's own website) says 256 cubic feet is two cords. I was half a cord short. Or to put it another way, by stealing my firewood, he'd just recouped the $120 he said I'd cost him to come back out! I called Ryan while the guy was still there, explained the situation and asked that my wood be returned to me. Ryan said he'd already spoken with his guy, agreed that the measurements were as we'd measured, and said that they were correct for two cords. I said since we agree on the measurements, please recalculate and tell his guy to return my wood. Ryan said he'd already calculated and was tired of talking so many times to me and about to tell me to f**k off. He then said that  I'd "seriously regret messing with him," and hung up on me. I told his guy that if he was going to steal my wood I wasn't about to pay him the $100 he expected for stacking it. (I guess Ryan forgot to tell him I'd overpaid to begin with and that it should have been $50.) The guy then made some comment about me regretting this, threw 20 more pieces of wood down (an additional 12 cu. ft.), and drove off with the rest my wood. * FWIW--two cords of wood (as verified on Ryan's website) are 4' x 8' x 8' = 256 cu. ft.. He was originally going to leave me (as we both measured it) 3' x 6.5' x 10' = 195 cu. ft. I ended up with 207 cu. ft.--49 cu. ft., or well over a third of a cord, short of the two cords I paid for. This week I hired two guys with a log splitter to come out and finish what should have been Ryan's job. Their first comment on seeing the wood was "Wow, they actually left this as split properly?!" They then split the remaining three-fourths of the wood, and it now burns like it should. So not only did I pay $50 too much for the (shorted) wood Central Oregon Firewood left me, but I had to pay another $50 to have it split properly. Plus, I had to have Ryan's guy insulting me, damaging my driveway and telling me tough s**t, and then stealing my wood, but I also had Ryan tell me to f**k off. Great company, huh? read more

Delivered wood that wasn't seasoned. We're now paying double the price. First the initial cost and now trying to burn unseasoned wood. Not fun or easy. We've has a wood stove for near 20 years. This is the absolute worse wood we've ever purchased--stay away from these gus! read more

Warning!!! The wood they deliver is good quality, but we ordered 3 cords of un-split rounds at once and when the guys came to deliver, I mentioned that it did not look like 3 cords (which is 4x4x8 for 128 cubic feet per cord). They assured me it was. We have been working on the weekends to split and stack it all since delivery and we are short by almost 3/4 of a cord. My husband called and spoke with Ryan and was told that since we did not contact him the day after delivery (which was not even an option as the wood was wet and it needed to be split to stack and measure) he would do nothing and then tried to argue that we did not stack it properly which caused our measurements and calculations to be incorrect. The total cubic footage should be the same, regardless of how the wood is stacked...we even erred way on the side of caution in their favor. Pretty disappointed about how this was handled. We won't be using or recommending them any time in the near future. read more

So much trash that could not even be used for kindling and rotten wood that I had to take a trip to the dump to get rid of it. Also, at least 1/2 cord short of what I paid for. When I called to address my concerns, Ryan treated me with total disrespect and seemed to think he had done me a favor and I should be grateful??? The owner was courteous and the guys that delivered the wood were nice. But after I stacked the wood ( cut in pieces from 10" to 16") I realized that we only had about 3/4 of a cord. I called back and talked with Ryan, he explained that the way I stacked the wood was the possible reason I thought I was shorted. He said he was the broker and would get a hold of the gentlemen that delivered the wood and would call me back by the end of the week to make it right. That was over a month ago.
