My daughter and I were in New York City for a birthday trip and I wanted to show her as much of the city as possible. We decided to book a Central Park pedicab tour so we could see more of the park in a shorter amount of time, and after reading countless reviews, we specifically requested Barry as our guide. He absolutely lived up to the hype! We were picked up just outside Magnolia Bakery, which worked out perfectly because we got to enjoy their famous banana pudding before our tour began. From the moment we met Barry, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making our experience memorable. He took us to all of Central Park's must-see locations and best photo spots. He even helped us adjust our camera settings so we could get the best pictures based on the lighting and scenery. One of our favorite parts was hearing about all the movies and TV shows filmed throughout the park. Barry pointed out famous filming locations and shared fun facts along the way. To top it all off, he took us to the beautiful cherry blossom trees for some amazing photos at the end of the tour. This was such a fun and relaxing way to experience Central Park, and my daughter said it was one of her favorite parts of our entire trip. It was a bitterly cold day in February in Central Park. Having lived in and around NYC for a good part of my life. While living there, we never really did anything touristy. We took a short trip to NYC and extended it a few days so we could do just that - play tourist. A Pedicab ride around the park was on my wife's bucket list. I relented, even though I wouldn't say I liked the cold. We found a friendly, enthusiastic driver who explained our options. We selected the one that was right for us, paid, and the ride began. Was the driver knowledgeable? He certainly was when it came to pop culture. He knew enough about John Lennon and Yoko Ono to point out their residence in the Manhattan. He showed us where various films were made, where stars performed, this or that actor's favorite part of the park, etc. When it came to history, which we know a great deal about, his facts weren't always correct, which was a bit troublesome. When we realized we knew more about the park's history than our guide, we were happy with the pop culture and left it at that. I'm sure the caliber of the driver varies from one to the next. I will say he was pleasant and kind. When we entered the cab, he gave us a warm, heated blanket. (Although the cold cut right through it.) Seriously, I would never have chosen to do this on my own. But we did have a good time and got to see things we hadn't seen before. Expensive, but it was worth every penny. read more

Be careful of this business. On December 25th, 2023, me and my son had 2 hours tour. Our driver was late 10 min but it's ok. The young boy came and picked us up. Showed us around Central Park. Was actually nice. Spoke Russian because he said he was from Tajikistan. He offered to take us around Manhattan in the evening and we agreed. He showed us good places . Several weeks passed and he send horrible messages to me! Threatening messages!!!! I am a proud Jew and he knew that. My sister in law and I made a 3pm reservation for an hour tour of Central Park. We were 15 minutes late, but called to let them know. They were very accommodating. We paid $50 a person for the 1 hour tour. I think it was meh pricing. I think $50 total for the two of us and then maybe a $10-$20 tip. It is nice to sit back and let someone take you around. But, next time, I will take one of Those citi bikes and bike myself around. Our "driver" was Alex. He was great. He even took photos of us in key areas. I did appreciate it. read more

We took a one-hour pedicab tour around Central Park. Communications were good before the tour by answering my quesitons. Also, we made arrangements for a drop off near the MET at the end of the tour, instead of returning to the same place. Our driver texted me before the start time to make sure we could find him. He was friendly and did a nice job showing us different buildings and helped us by taking our picture. The driver also had some maps and pictures to enhance the tour. I would recommend this as a nice way to get a little taste of Central Park with the help of a guide. Total price was about $100 for two people for a one-hour tour. We tipped an extra $20 at the end for the driver. This is a better price than if you engaged a pedicab at their published rate of $5 a minute. read more

Our experience with Central Park Tours was absolutely 5 stars and worth every penny! My 84-yr old mom wanted to visit Central Park. Walking it, we wouldn't see much: Not only is Central Park huge, but it was cold and she walks slowly. Self-guided bike touring wasn't an option. That left us with a horse carriage ride or a Pedicab. FYI, I have since learned that if someone approaches you with a laminated tour guidebook, they are not only permitted by the City, but there are strict regulations regarding their solicitation. There are many Pedicabs available at the south entrance of the park who will approach you: Though with permits, not all are endorsed. Yes, you can save a buck by choosing one, but your experience may be only a trip (no commentary or stops included). Emir caught our attention at Columbus Circle. His cousin Nihat (commonly called "Night") was our Pedicab tourguide. What a fantastic experience! Side note: I've since found/spoken with a manager of Central Park Tours: Nihat "Night" is one of the highest rated tourguides: I suggest you seek him out by name! Emir gave us the "schpeel," explaining options. Horse carriage ride at a lower price (by comparison) would significantly limit what we'd see. Wanting to see more, we opted for a higher-priced, longer tour via Pedicab. Realizing now that we lucked out, I can't tell you how awesome Nihat "Night" was! He was so personable, provided great commentary & photo-ops (including taking pictures of us), and helped my mom in/out for each stop. I absolutely recommend Central Park Tours. FYI, payment is collected upon completion of your tour: 1. To prove that they deliver what's promised (& that it's not a scam, because there are plenty of scam tours), and 2. For you to tip your tourguide appropriately (please consider being generous - this is their livelihood!). I'm confident you'd agree that if you get Nihat "Night," you'll have a similar awesome tour of Central Park! You get what you pay for with Central Park Tours, especially with Nihat! Had a great Pedicab tour of the Park. After a lively conversation with the gentleman promoting the service at Columbus Circle we decided to give it a go and were very pleased with the experience. Our driver Usman (sp?) was terrific. A very pleasant man originally from Burkina Faso, he was very knowledgeable about the Park and provided great information along the way in a very fun and engaging manner. He also served as our personal photographer on the tour taking some great and creative photos. The price can be a bit of a turnoff, but it is worth it for a great tour. Definitely see about negotiating the price especially in a "down" season when business might be slow. Lots of fun and a wonderful experience that we were glad we did! read more

I don't know how I'm the first to rate this .... We stumbled upon taking this tour on Easter Sunday, a beautiful, spring day. I was overwhelmed walking into the park with 4 teenagers - we were tired from walking already. First thought to take a horse ride but kids didn't want to. We started talking to two pedicab drivers - and I booked 2 cabs for the 5 of us. I talked down the price, then at the end gave them the full price because IT WAS WORTH EVERY CENT AND MORE! SO informative. I have been to Central Park many times before, but only to certain sections, here and there. One hour tour - fantastic - personable - friendly guys. I was considering renting a bike to hit up my favorite spots in Central Park. Then I stumbled across this business while searching for bike rentals. The only drawback to renting the bike is that NYC is already humid and makes me perspire more than I'd like - I'd be a sloppy mess after riding the bike for a few hours. So I opted for the pedicab instead. I'm so glad I did because our guide dropped some knowledge at I wouldn't have otherwise known. I highly recommend touring Central Park this way. read more

Best way to see the park. We've taken the horse carriage rides before and walked thru the park on our own - but this was fun, informative and relaxing. The pedicab had heated seats plus they gave us blankets. The bike was a bit motorized to ease the burden on our really friendly driver. Well worth every cent! read more

I had an unpleasant experience. One of the tour guides approached me requesting me to ride, I looked at prices I declined, because I wanted to save money for other activities in the park. After I declined, he approached me again offering the half an hour tour with the same price as the hour tour, I said if that's the case then fine. After I spent half an hour the pedicab driver said we are done with the tour. How come? That's a not professional and fraudulent way of doing business. The driver was trying to call his boss to discuss, he never answered. After lengthy discussions I ended up paying the amount that I didn't I agree to pay in the first place. Just to avoid arguments with those people who are apparently totally unprofessional. I would definitely NOT recommend this tour. Very short and super expensive with low quality service and a duration less than promised. I can see the same trends of behaviors in previous reviews. There are plenty of other activities and tours that are much better to enjoy the park If the company managing those drivers care about professionalism, they should address this and fire such drivers instead of perhaps encouraging them to do so. read more

We did a 1-hour tour about 4pm on Sunday. There were 5 of us, so we split into 2 pedicabs. As others have stated, negotiate. I think the original quote was $75/cab. My friend countered with $50 and we settled on $60. One of the two drivers did most of the talking, but the other driver kept his cab right alongside so everyone could hear. Lots of great information. Twice, (the pond and Strawberry Fields) they parked for 5-10 minutes while we walked to the landmark alone, and on one occasion (one of the bridges) the driver accompanied us on foot and provided additional history. In one hour, you'll only see the southern end of the park, but it was money well-spent. read more

Beware! Sign shows $25 for short loop ride but in fine print is "per person". A 20 minute ride from the fountain to the entrance NOT A LOOP, ended up being 75 dollars. A total ripoff.... Especially when other pedicab drivers said it should have been no more than 30 dollars. read more
