This is an update to my original 5 Star review. I'm very disheartened. We got our puppy on 4/6 and before purchase we were assured "Rosie" was a sweet, loving girl that was high energy and over all just loved people. Rosie is a Standard F1 Goldendoodle, but we didn't receive papers to prove this. When she arrived to our home she was scared and fairly dirty. Typical behavior for a new environment. However, we noticed immediately "Rosie" was extremely frightened by everything. My toddler yelling, going outside, if we raised our hands or got up too quickly. After about a week of this behavior, I reached out to CPP. I also took Rosie to the vet where my suspicions of mistreatment were thought to be confirmed. I was directed over to "Julian" who ensured me Rosie's behavior was simply because she wasn't socialized properly. He also informed me that I knew this was how she would be given that I was told she was shy and timid. The website did NOT portray that Rosie was timid in anyway. Julian of course backed his breeder, saying I'm the first one to have this issue but he would investigate. It's been over a week and we haven't heard anything. Rosie is slowly learning that we will not hurt her and she is coming out of her shell. However she is NOT your typical happy puppy. She clearly was mistreated somewhere down the line. 5 month old puppies don't cower in the corner for no reason at all. I cannot prove Rosie was mistreated, nor will I ever know for sure. BUT if she really is "not socialized" properly, then I paid $2,000 for a puppy that hasn't been socialized. Either way, I payed a lot of money for a puppy that is terrified. I could have gone to the shelter and paid way less if I wanted a puppy that wasn't treated properly or had socialization issues. Since bringing this issue to Julian's attention, Rosie's profile has been removed and we essentially have been written off. I get it's a business and you have to protect your business but this is not how I expected my experience with a well recommend company to be. I want to note that Rosie has a lot of potential and will be a great puppy once she learns to trust people again. We fully plan on helping her achieve her full potential but for those that plan to purchase a puppy from CCP, keep in mind you really dont know how or who is raising these puppies. read more

We absolutely ADORE our puppy! She's a beautiful white and cream Havanese. So smart and joyful! We were very happy with our dealings with Central Park Puppies and the delivery man (Michael) was absolutely sweet as pie! You could tell he truly loves animals. The only downside is I'm in Upstate New York near Albany and the puppy came from Indiana an 11 hour drive and she had gotten car sick and was super tired and lethargic. She was still making vomiting noises and wasn't feeling like eating but thankfully was drinking water. To be safe we brought her to the vet and they said she was just exhausted. They gave her intravenous fluids, anti-nausea medication and some high calorie soft puppy food and immediately she perked up. She was 100% healthy no fever or sickness just had a long 11 hour ride. Just noting this in case anyone else has this happen. She has been such a pure joy and she's incredibly smart! Oh and her fur is silky soft. I need to take a moment to say how excellent my experience has been with Central Park Puppies. Because of the pandemic, we were able to get our puppy delivered, which they did within 24 hours of us calling to say we wanted him. Our mini poodle Finley arrived healthy, happy, and lively and we cannot put into words how much we already love him. We were also able to order some preliminary puppy supplies for Finn, in addition to some free food and wee wee pads that they gave us. Though they forgot to deliver the additional wee wee pads we ordered, they delivered them the very next day with an apology. The manager of the store, Julian, has been excellent. Since getting Finley, he gave us an emergency number that we can call whenever we have a problem. He has always been quick to answer any questions I've had, and as a new dog owner, I've had many. The day after we got Finley, Central Park even called to see how he was doing. When I said he was being a picky eater, they called a few hours later to make sure he was eating all his food. They go above and beyond for their dogs and for their customers. I would highly recommend. I was fortunate enough to be joined w/ Bruce all thanks to Central Park Puppies! I can't thank them enough. I was originally hesitant about the whole process considering the limitations placed in 2020. Admittedly, it was bit foreign to me...purchasing a puppy w/o interacting AND having them dropped off to your front door?! Sounds SOO absurd...I know. Trust me. However, Ash and the team instilled confidence in me and was very patient with answering the annoyingly amount of questions/details I had proposed to them. I will also preface that a family friend did originally recommend this organization to me. After sometime, I felt very confident in moving forward and waited until the time was right i.e. a litter of Golden Retrievers. I had gotten Bruce at an age of 8 weeks in Dec 2020. He was transported using a third-party pet transporting company. I have been told that typically the breeder would elect to drop off the puppy and to chat in-person; that was not the case (I believe this was modified due to the restrictions towards the end of 2020) for me. My only compliant, which is not a reflection of the breeder, Bruce, or Central Park Puppies was the third-party transporter - their demeanor was eh; I'm sure it was attributed to the fact that they had to drive from X state to NY, etc. and that lack of sleep played a role there. Nonetheless, he arrived safely and in timely manner. They were very professional with the process and ensuring the date/time that they were going to drop him off and kept in constant contact. Central Park Puppies works w/ breeders who know what they're doing i.e. responsible and NOT breeding puppies left and right for demand OR a quick buck. Bruce's temperament has been excellent since day one. I've received so many reassuring words about it from trainers and other folks in the neighborhood. He's been healthy and everything listed had checked out; I did also connect with another one of Bruce's littermates and he had expressed the same thoughts as well about his sweet boy. If you're on the market for a puppy, please do your due diligence on researching the breed that works best for you and your lifestyle. Speak with other dogs owners (they love talking about their pets) and see if it works best for you/your family. Please remember that not every breed is meant for every personality/lifestyle. Once you're confident in your selection, bother Ash and the team w/ any questions you may have and they will help you get things sorted. Don't rush the process. I had a long conversation via phone (they get back to you quickly), to see if the Puppies you are looking for are still available. You may notice on their Website, lots of pups have found a new home. The Breeders are also selling direct to individuals, but I could not find the information I needed, unless I went thru Central Park Puppies. New York has a New Law to try to eliminate Puppy Mills and have Pet Shpps start taking in Adoptions from Shelters to help the overcrowding. I think its a wonderful way to go, unless you are set with a specific Pedigree. My contact called me the next day to let me know there are no new litters for the pup I wanted. I went to this pet shop for over a year straight looking for a particular breed. Male staff members were willing to help, inclusive of offering to call me when a pup was in stock but the woman with the headdress is RUDE and flat out refused to help. I wanted a particular breed, she first says no deposits "you have to buy the dog now" then I asked when there would be more of the breed. She blurts out "we won't be getting any more" - dude. When I tell you I had to have the patience of a saint to deal with her. Fast forward, I come back to the location because I see my forever pup in an IG post. I go into the shop ready to buy and she's still a complete jerk. She doesn't tell me what services and products come with my dog, barely wants to process the paperwork and seemed surprised that I paid in full. Let's not forget that she completely forgot to tell me or the other customers in the store that financing was not available and she didn't care about when that would be back. She holds all the dogs and kisses them, develops favorites and I would argue plays a role in getting the puppies sick. This should have been an exciting time for me and my pup but she ruined it. It was a good experience here. We traveled far since we wanted to make sure we got a puppy that was healthy and not from a mill. I really didn't want to buy a puppy from a pet store, but, Central Park Puppies seem trustworthy. They let you play with the puppies in a pen. We got to spend a nice amount of time just playing with the puppies we wanted. The place smelled like pups, but, was clean and small. We mostly interacted with the woman in front who seemed to know most of the things. Very professional and nice. We decided on a Shiba Inu pup - he stole our hearts! We put a deposit on him and asked to hold him for a week. When we picked him up, they gave us all the paperwork and breeder info, and the food he was currently eating + some wet food. They also had someone to give him one final look, brushed him and cleaned his ears. Since we lived too far to bring him to their vet, we brought him to one close to our home. He was a healthy pup! No issues. Clean stool, no coughs, nothing. Really healthy! :) He is now 5 months old and has grow so big. If I ever wanted another puppy I would come here! A note for those of you purchasing a dog: I dont think people who work at the store tell you this, but it is a LOT of work and money. PLEASE DO RESEARCH BEFOREHAND. Having a dog is like having a baby except the dog does not grow up. My dog has seasonal allergies and tear duct issue that's common with her breed Havanese x poodle. She also gets skin irritations very easily (dry, itchy skin) and needs to be brushed to keep her fur from matting. Let's just say she is very high maintenance, so please do your research and look into adopting a dog very carefully. read more
