I tell our trainers Katie and Nicole all of the time that they are life savers. We brought our puppy here at 1 years old - a small wild, energetic Jack Russell who knew every time I was on a video meeting to bark his head off and embarrass me EVERY TIME! Walks were out of the question since he would pull on the leash to the point he would choke himself... sitting on the deck was a nightmare in our own backyard because he would bark at the wind (yes, the wind), the leaves moving, the birds and obviously the neighbors. Does this sound familiar? I questioned my decision of getting a puppy and then I found Max K9. We did a 3 week Board & Train where I was super hesitant of dropping him off (because no one wants to leave their baby anywhere), but they were so good with sending video progress and pictures and including my husband and I in the process. We were instantly able to communicate with him and actually go on a walk.. outside in the real world. What a breath of fresh air, literally! The BEST training service you will ever use. My fiancé and I rescued a large rotti mix, Keiko, in January. We were having trouble trying to help him adjust from living in the south on a large property to living in a one bedroom apartment with cats and a smaller back yard. We were set up with our trainer, Jim, he educated us on how to handle Keiko properly (from basic obedience to different enrichment), build a better bridge of communication and help with his confidence. Our last session Keiko even decided he was going to try one of the obstacles from maximum K9's agility course (no prompting from us) shocking both me and my fiancé. Safe to say Keiko loves Maximum K9 as much as we do . Since our training we have been able to do so much more and get Keiko better involved in our activities (which we know he loves). I am SO thankful for Sherry at Maximum K9. I don't know if I can put into words how helpful she has been in training our Stormie. Stormie is a rescue who we adopted in 2019 and underwent 2 surgeries in 2021 due to bilateral CCL surgery. She was cooped up for an extended amount of time during recovery. We were unable to take her outside without her reacting to other dogs and sometimes even people. Stormie even gave us difficulty when we wanted to go for a short walk. It was so frustrating and difficult taking her out in public that we needed help. We have heard of Maximum K9 from many of our friends and even the great reviews I've seen on dog groups and online. I called to inquire about the types of training (group vs. individual) and it was clear that we needed to take private lessons. We signed up for a package of 6 lessons with Sherry that were one hour long for 6 consecutive weeks. Our first day, Sherry got to know about Stormie's behaviors - positive and negative, what we were having difficulty with and what our goals were. Sherry worked with us each week when training Stormie (and me) on how to modify or progress a skill. We learned how to heel, which we never were taught from another trainer elsewhere, and the importance of heel. We were given homework on what to practice from the training sessions to continue our work outside of the facility. Sherry helped Stormie become less dog reactive in a safe manner at Maximum K9. Stormie was slowly exposed to the board and train dogs in the facility that had various levels of size and temperament. Each week, Stormie learned how to follow her commands and not react to different dogs. With Sherry's consistent training, Stormie was able to heel with me in a circle with other dogs and sit next to them without any reaction at all. I cannot find the words to thank Sherry for helping Stormie and myself. I came into Maximum K9 with Stormie trying to pull my arm off and reacting to dogs in the lobby to now leaving with my arm back intact and her in a nice heel. Hi! Just wanted to stop by and write a glowing review for our friends over at Maximum K9. Our dog August just completed a four week Board & Train (B&T) - working with trainer Nicole. I was so torn on sending my dog away but he needed the dedicated time to focus on his obedience, learning communication tools and building his self confidence. About a year into our life with August, we started to see some unwanted behaviors developing as a result of a lack of foundational training, boundaries and obedience - mild reactivity was the main driver for us to seek the training. Before we sent August to Maximum K9, we met with several other organizations to see which was the best fit for our needs. We loved the established reputation and the seriousness of their trainers. We liked that the training would be customized to accommodate our areas of interest as well as the dogs personality. We met with Shari for our initial consultation and then we were matched with Nicole as our lead trainer for the program. August is a nervous dog so the thought of being separated from him for a month was weighing heavily on me. I sent his basics like foods and collars but they let me send along his favorite toy from home too which I thought was great. He quickly fell into a routine with the team there - and we couldn't have been more pleased. We were told he loved the kennel staff, hanging out in the lobby with his new friends and the trainers he worked with. The team stayed in touch with us via WhatsApp - sending pictures, messages and videos. It took them about a week to get him warmed up and used to them - which I enjoyed - they didn't rush into the training. He trusted them and wanted to work with them. We looked forward to the demos where August displayed what he had learned. Nicole kept us up to date on his progress - where he was, where she'd like him to be, what skills he was mastering and where we could continue to focus with him. Distraction work is definitely something we're going to continue to practice using the skills and tools we learned. August is walking so nicely in a heel on walks - already a game changer (especially with a baby carriage). He is doing so well holding a sit, stay, down, place etc - and is responsive to the training cues he learned. Having a solid obedience foundation and a clear set of boundaries will make it much easier to handle the dog in our home and when we're out on adventures. He learned communication tools and collars, as well. This training is just as much a training for the humans as it is for the dogs. Nicole was great - she explained everything, listened to our stories/background on the dog and answered all our questions. August always responded very positively to Nicole - looking for pets/affirmation and happily leaving with her after the demos. I know he misses her already. We are excited to take part in the group classes to keep the momentum rolling for the training as we adjust to our new routines! We're going to try our first lifetime class on Saturday. We could not be more grateful that we found maximum k9! We new going into getting our Belgian malinois puppy that we would need to do a lot of training but there is absolutely no way Irwin would be the dog he is today without Morgan and the rest of the Maximum K9 team. I remember our first day of training, walking in worried that our 3 month old puppy would be kicked out because of how much he barked meeting new people. Morgan greeted us and immediately was a perfect fit, she let him get his malinois out in his greeting and welcomed us without hesitation. Every session has been incredibly productive, focusing on whatever issue (big or small) we have encountered however each session has also been incredibly fun for both Irwin and us! Irwin is now 1 year old and able to come with us on every adventure from grabbing a coffee downtown to playing on the beach to hiking local trails or a mountain. Our experience far exceeded our expectations (many thanks to our trainer, Toki). We opted for the "board & train" knowing going into it that our dog Flip had many challenges (was a rescue, never lived in a home, was a resource guarder, not the friendliest around other dogs). Toki listed closely to our needs and suggested practical solutions. She taught Flip the basics but also incorporated the specifics we mentioned into her lessons. She was patient, always enthusiastic, kept us updated on progress, was always available to answer questions. Her genuine love for animals and her job come through her work. We have been going to maximum K9 with our rescue dog for quite a few months now and the entire staff there has been so incredibly helpful. Our dog has some severe aggression towards people and they have helped us with virtually everything from finding a vet that can handle him, private lessons, classes and also he will be doing their board and train next month. I was disappointed with my experience at Maximum K9. First, they pushed the prong collar, which I'm not a fan of, and they use a lot of leash popping as a deterrent. Basically, I felt like their philosophy of training was too aggressive and not appropriate for my dog, who tends to learn much better with an emphasis on positive reinforcement. My goal in the class was to improve my bond and my relationship with my dog, which it didn't particularly help with. Also, for every class the dog is supposed to be able to go to "place," however, the box that he had to stay on was too small for him. He had to scrunch up his body to barely fit on the box and was clearly uncomfortable so he did not want to stay, which made the class unecessarily challenging and unpleasant for him. I am so pleased with how much progress maximum k9 training made with Ronin during board and train. Not only were we able to finally go on vacation, but we knew Ronin was in great hands. They create a sense of urgency by telling you they are booked and push you to spend thousands of dollars and make sure to squeeze as many lessons in a short period of time as possible, right off the bat with no game plan. A career in dog training must be tough, even to make an appointment he takes you for $35 for a 5 minute evaluation after which he will take you for another $1,500.00. And the girl with the awful attitude that pushes joes agenda, u know who you are, walks around customers with a face mask under her chin the whole day like a neck warmer and has a nasty attitude. Wearing masks is not a choice if you are working you careless woman. We brought our 10 month (now 1 year old) Boxer/Great Dane/Lab mix, Nessa to Maximum K9 after struggling for several weeks with her. So we decided to do the 3 week board & train program. Morgan was her trainer and was so amazing at communicating with us throughout. She would send us pictures and lots of videos to update us, and we were shocked at how well behaved the dog we were looking at was. I couldn't recommend this place more if i tried. I signed up for board and train class out of exhaustion for my 1 year old husky Kodi. He was a sweet dog but with a STRONG prey drive - and i already had 4 older cats. I did much research, deciding between private classes and boarding classes. I felt the need for an intense boarding program but my biggest apprehension was that he would be training with someone else, and that his skills wouldnt translate to his owners. We signed up for a 3 week boars and train, but we almost cancelled our boarding program the night before. But im so glad i didnt. We worked with Morgan, who taught our dog better in 3 weeks than all the training we did his first year of life. More importantly, she taught us how to work with Kodi so he would listen to us. We learned how to motivate Kodi and effectively use training tools to balance train. We continue with lifetime class, which has helped us build our bond with our dog and give him the freedom he deserves. We constantly get compliments on how well behaved our dog is and it would not be possible without Morgan and the team. Definitely the best investment i've made. I few months ago, I switched my dogs to Max Natural Dog Co., which is made and sold by Maximum K9 Service. I was thrilled to find what I thought was a high quality raw food that is appreciably cheaper than what my boys were eating before. However, just the other day, I realized that the ingredient list posted online for the Turkey and Vegetable raw does not match the ingredient list on the product packaging.  Considering the issues that my dogs have been having, I believe the packaging has the CORRECT ingredient list, which includes powdered eggs and sweet potato. My dogs are highly allergic to eggs and their bellies have been upset, but what's more disconcerting is that one of my dogs has had a severe skin reaction.  Fortunately, my dogs do not react with anaphylactic symptoms, but I'm certain that there are dogs who DO react in that way.  Leaving off these ingredients is a HUGE danger. Since I buy online, I've read the online ingredient list easily 20-30 times and I compared it to my boys' allergy panels.  Never did I think that I needed to double check the packaging because it would have a DIFFERENT ingredient list.  This discrepancy is extremely irresponsible. As I'm dealing with my dog's skin problem, I'm having conversations with my vet and swearing that my dog is not ingesting any allergens.  I've had to put him on immunosuppressant drugs and strong antibiotics.  Additionally, I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get good raw diet stools from my boys.  Well, now I know: the eggs wreak havoc for them.  Because of this incorrect ingredient list, I now have to nurse my boys back to good health. I feed them raw because I firmly believe it's the foundation of good health.  In this case, it's the foundation of a DECLINE in health. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing anything from Max K9 Services from this point forward. As always, you get what you pay for. read more

Our dogs Jack and Diane starting fighting. Diane was a GSD puppy and starting to dominant Jack. They got into a fight and I got bit by mistake. We knew it was time to step up Diane's training. We registered her for the Board and Train. Katie was her trainer. Diane completed her 3 weeks and we are beyond thrilled. She listens, the fighting has stopped and the stress in our home is gone. Who says you cannot teach an old dog new tricks! Entering our 9-year old Ellie, a boxer mix, in Max K9 Training Program was one of the right decisions I have made in my life. Ellie was never properly trained before and had such a serious issue with people and cars/trucks that we could not walk her outside home and the situation got worse. She is a loving dog to us all these years but this issue and her bad habit made us frustrated and enjoy the time with her less than we and she deserved. When we had a plan to be out of the country for 2 weeks last November, I spent several months deciding where to leave Ellie and so worried that no one would welcome her due to her behaviors. So, I started checking out the training programs, logically thinking that it would be the first thing. I read all reviews for each place. Then, I found one review of Max K9 that totally convinced me I found the one for Ellie and the right solution for our situation. On our first visit, we had a very good feeling about Max K9 and their staff and felt safe for Ellie to be there for 3 weeks - the very first experience to be away from us. We signed her up and met our trainer Cody. While we were overseas, we received videos and was updated that Ellie was doing well. It really made us happy to see her doing well. When we got her back home finally, she was a different dog and after 3 months we are still amazed how different our life is with Ellie and how happier Ellie and we all are. The trainer Cody did an amazing job just in 3 weeks. Cody came back to our home a month later to check on her and Ellie was so happy to see him, and we got to ask questions and get more advice. We've only had terrific experiences at Max K9. We walked in to get our 2 year old Shepard/Husky mix's nails clipped (which they handled with no problems) and walked out considering training . He had aggression issues with other dogs. A week later we started private training with Sherry. She's the best!! From the way She's teaching "Jax" to the way she's teaching us , hands down the best decision we've made from our family. We initially tried a different company for training, but were frustrated at the pace of training and the bland interaction with the trainer. Then we tried this place, Maximum K9. We are SO HAPPY we made the switch. It is way more money than the other place, but I also feel our dog is way more trained than she would've been if we stayed at the other place. During class when you make a mistake they take the time out to show you the correct way to handle your dog. I have two GSD and both have been training at Maximum. Bring your difficult dog here! I brought my 2 year old Cane Corso here for a 3 week board and train. Let me tell you, it was the BEST choice I could have ever made for my dog. I have used so many different dog trainers without any success. My dog is the typical loving and protective Cane Corso but extremely reactive and aggressive toward people and animals. Before this training I really struggled, I could not bring my dog anywhere and I could not have people come over to my house unless I locked him away. We both had an unfair quality of life because of this. After spending 3 weeks at Max k9 my dog came back AMAZING! My dog knows and actually LISTENS to every command now, and most importantly he is not aggressive at all toward people and much less reactive toward other dogs. From the minute my dog arrived, Max k9 took the time to put my mind at ease, keeping in touch constantly and sending daily videos of them training my dog. They also took the time to have me and my dog train together in multiple different settings before he transitioned back home. Even after my dog returned home Max K9 took the time to come to my house and train my dog in his environment. The trainers are extremely knowledgeable and really put a lot of effort in and it really shows. I am so grateful for Max K9, without them my dog would not have a good quality of life.
