Graduated dog school: board and Train
    Melissa V.

OFFSITE LEVEL 3! 1) do it! Sign yourself up and do the level 3 training. We started off at board and train, graduated went to lifetime trainings on site. Then we finally progressed and signed up for level 3. The benefits is that you are continuing to train your dog. You go offsite and to public places. There are so many distractions that the dogs learn to cope and react positively to. You are working with a group of other dogs and learn from one another.

My 8 month old GSD puppy Sonoma just completed a 4 week board and train program with lead trainer Katie. WORTH EVERY PENNY! Katie and Sonoma created a bond like no other. Being able to see our dogs progress over the past few weeks has been so rewarding. Maximum K9 went above and beyond giving Sonoma the time she needed to become the best version of herself. Board & train is an investment for sure but worth it in the end knowing I have a well trained, obedient dog. 100% recommend Maximum K9 and 10000000% recommend Katie!!!

We have been going to maximum K9 with our rescue dog for quite a few months now and the entire staff there has been so incredibly helpful. Our dog has some severe aggression towards people and they have helped us with virtually everything from finding a vet that can handle him, private lessons, classes and also he will be doing their board and train next month. All of the trainers are fantastic and true dog people that live and breath animals. While our dog will never be "friendly" we have been able to manage his issues with their help and are extremely grateful.

I am so pleased with how much progress maximum k9 training made with Ronin during board and train. Not only were we able to finally go on vacation, but we knew Ronin was in great hands. They sent us videos of his progress the entire time which kept us from guessing how he was responding to training. Katie was great she really knows her stuff and I love her enthusiasm! She spent time teaching us how to handle him and she was so patient when we would mess up. We only wish we brought him to maximum k9 training sooner because we were doing it all wrong!

Thanks to the expert training and support provided by Sherry Tauber of Maximum K9, I have a much better relationship with my young working line German Shepherd dog. I enrolled in private lessons at first since I was not mentally prepared to work with this type of German Shepherd. My dog was very responsive to his training. I am now enrolled in their beginner group obedience training program.

    Our well behaved girl!

We brought our 10 month (now 1 year old) Boxer/Great Dane/Lab mix, Nessa to Maximum K9 after struggling for several weeks with her. So we decided to do the 3 week board & train program. Morgan was her trainer and was so amazing at communicating with us throughout. She would send us pictures and lots of videos to update us, and we were shocked at how well behaved the dog we were looking at was. During our demo sessions, we could really tell that Morgan and everyone at MK9 took the time to bond with the dogs there. Nessa has been home for 5 weeks now, and has progressed so much better this time around than when we first got her. And it's really all because of the great foundation Maximum K9 and Morgan instilled in her. We can't recommend them enough!

We couldn't be happier with Maximum K9 and our trainer Katie..Katie took the time to bond with McKenzie but more importantly put me at ease to leave my pup in a strange environment for a two week board and train. Katie was in constant communication with me via pics and videos. McKenzie came home to us more confident, able to obey basic commands and let us take family evening walks with no pulling down the block! Most importantly she is a happy obedient dog!! We will continue classes at Maximum K9!

I've enrolled my dog for (12) 30 minute sessions rather than (6) 1 hour sessions - does anyone recommend doing full hour sessions over 30 minutes? I have a mini Aussie that's 1 years old and his recall is terrible but he is a very smart dog

I think that you should be fine! After if they recommend join their lifetime classes ! It's half hour classes and we still bring our dog even after board and train. We just started their level 3 classes. They are so helpful to us! They are honest… Read more

What is the pricing for training here? I have a 10 month old mini goldendoodle, looking to bring her here for obedience training (and further training), but it is unclear how much training costs.

It depends. Call and set up a free evaluation and then the trainer will suggest which class best suits you and your dog.

Conformation, rally, agility, obedience (both basic and competitive) are taught by trainers who have all competed and earned advanced titles. They also have several basic classes for total beginners. They know dogs. Another benefit is that the facility is large enough to host competitive events. There are trials throughout the year. Many of the students are also high-level competitors, and beginners can learn a lot just by watching and asking questions. Ring rentals, in which you can practice on your own, are reasonably priced and you can book by the hour or half hour. The trainers take great interest--and joy--in seeing their students succeed. You have a built-in cheering squad. I see the comments saying that the people are not warm and fuzzy, but dog people generally have a reputation for being a bit crusty. They're dog trainers, not politicians. What matters to me is that they get results. This year trainer Teri N. helped me and my Emily earn a title that I never dreamed we would achieve. At the next class, Teri and my classmates (who have all become friends) surprised us with a cake, flowers, and a little celebration. That's plenty warm and fuzzy for me. I love this place.

She cares so much for animals and the way they are treated and trained. She focuses on positive reinforcement and is thoughtful in how she responds and interacts with dogs. She helped us counteract some of our puppies negative behaviors with replacing them with more acceptable behaviors. Both of our Labradoodles have also stayed with Melanie for Board and Train (multiple times). Each time our pups returned they were calm and ready to show off their new skills (like staying on their beds during meal times). She also sent us photos and videos to show us the progress they made while we were away. We just love the positive influence Melanie has had on our pups. We also have 2 children and Melanie worked with both of them to teach them training techniques they could use with our dogs. We have recommend several friends to Melanie who have also had great experiences with her training their dogs as well. We highly recommend Melanie and Wagmore dog training!

After seeing him a few times the Vet recommended a strong treatment of prozac to help alleviate his symptoms. However, before going the chemical route I wanted to try solving his symptoms in a more holistic manner. After a few renowned trainers told me he was a lost cause, trainers who probably build their reputation based on the easiest of cases, Melanie Bennet entered the picture. We had a consultation and Melanie was compassionate with my dog and helped me understand his mindset as well as a training regimen that could help him improve. She was very realistic in managing my expectations and helped me understand what was achievable in the training and what would be a stretch. I enrolled my dog in a 4-week training bootcamp where Melanie focused on teaching my dog relaxation techniques. Some things I observed after my first visit is that he would lay down a lot, I thought he was tired or scared but then learned Melanie trained him to do that whenever he was overly aroused. Similarly he would stop moving his tail to calm himself down. Throughout successive visits I observed how my dog was more composed and relaxed. He was also paying more attention to me so he could follow my lead. After the first three weeks he had been able to learn to calm himself down enough to reinforce the basics and learn a few cute tricks. He learned how to walk on a gentle leader and how to spin and touch a cone on command. When he came back home people could not believe what they were seeing. I no longer had to hide my dog in my bedroom whenever I had visitors in an attempt to shield them from my dog's anxiety. As long as the visitors knew the ground rules to avoid arousing my dog too much, we had a perfect interaction, something that would have been impossible before. Furthermore, the training did not end there. Melanie provided extensive documentation on what I could do to reinforce and continue his training, which was very useful for me as I did not know how to avoid undoing all of Melanie's fantastic work. Overall, I highly recommend Melanie to any person who wants to have their dog properly trained, especially is that dog needs special attention. Melanie is a professional of the highest level of loves her job and is dedicated to the welfare of the dogs she trains. In the 8 years I've had my dog, and the countless trainers that have tried to help him, I had never met anyone like her. She has my full trust when it comes to my dog.
