The teachers are great at communicating and fixing any problems. There are fun family events throughout the year. The parents who don't even know this school are doing an injustice by rating it with just 3 stars. My 2 kids have been attending at this Bonita Country Day School ever since they can start to attend school at age 3. I stayed as long as I can & have been with this school since 2006. In regards to academic curriculum and excellence it is top notch and advance without pressure. BCDS curriculum is 2 years advance on average, and they supplement the lessons most times, so your kids will mostly likely be more than 2 years advance. My kids have been about at least two years academically advance for all their grades when they were tested. In comparison to all the many other elite Southbay and La Jolla private schools I had visited, BCDS is obviously advance. Some of those schools I checked out were even amazed to find out Bonita Country Day School 4th graders are actually doing high school math as a norm. Most new kids entering BCDS for older grades, usually needs help to catch up because they are behind at the other schools they have been attending. Kids are allowed to naturally reach their potential thru independent studies under close administering & guidance by instructors at BCDS. Parents who decide to enroll their kids here at Bonita Country Day School (BCDS) will come to appreciate it watching their kids grow intellectually & be independent thinkers. Many schools boast successful students but they cannot produce great student successfully on high academics like they do at BCDS.. If parents seriously compare curriculum, you will see why BCDS is the better choice. It shows when the kids do well when they have to move on to other schools by academics and exhibits wonderful demeanor. Bonita Country Day School has been known and proven to produce many students who are highly advance learners and thinkers successfully. Faculties from competing schools have been known to tell me on many occasions how they highly regard the talents of Mrs. C, the principle at Bonita Country Day. She does work with cooperative parents to help kids achieve high. All my suggestions and kind requests have been met during the time I have been at BCDS. I only have compliments at this school. She is especially gifted to teach & knows how to help your children grow to their fullest potential intellectually. She prepares them for the real world by helping kids slowly build their public speaking skills throughout the coursework in so many subtle ways too. That bonus part is not even mentioned in the curriculum. I have seen so many kids blossom under her special supervision.. This school is gentle in ways but do not expect your kids to be babied. The staff are nurturing, attentive and knows when your kids are feeling off or not well right away, or knows if they are just testing out the teachers patience. The kids are taught to be independent from an early stage through subtle discipline with simple routines that build up through the grade levels. I have seen alot of improvements on my two boys since they started IPSK in 2021. They learn respect, kindess, discipline and confidence. IPSK also has an annual holiday and end of school program. The teachers are extremely knowledgeable and genuinely care about ours kids well-being, growth, and happiness. We loved the balance of structure, learning, independence Built in kids, outdoor and playtime. The children learn responsibility, like putting away their classroom materials, while also collaborating, exploring, and getting plenty of movement indoors and outdoors. The bilingual English-Spanish environment was huge. Installations are great, continuously being updated and nice and fun outdoor play spaces. Their summer camps were very very fun. A variety of activities, from cooking and yoga to scavenger hunts and water days, and also learning. The administrative team was always great at keeping parents informed and creating a true sense of community. Some of my favorite memories are the end of year holiday celebration and Mother's Day presentations. The parent community is down to earth, caring and we built wonderful friendships. Now that our children have moved on to another school, Kinderland prepared them extremely well, kids have adjusted very well academically and socially. Kinderland was such a nurturing, loving environment for our children to transition from home to school, and a wonderful experience for us as parents too. It doesn't rain that much here to invest in a tv for only that purpose. Not to mention no tv is recommended for kids until 18 months of age. There's no cameras and I would bet they have those kids in front of tv more often than they say. Additionally they put the infants in the same room as walking kids that are up to 20 months old. No where else does this. It's not safe. Speaking of safety- when you first pull up You see the gate to the playground and all the kids on the playground. The infant door is just inside the gate, forest door on the left. To get into the playground all she did was reach to the top of the gate to move the plastic zip ties and then opened the gate. It wasn't locked. The classroom with infants, not locked. The classroom appeared to have one entry and exit total - to that unlocked gate. Any adult could get in there. Not a secure placement at all. They need to up security. I hope there is never a shooter, but of elementary schools are getting hit we need to be prepared and this place is far from prepared.

For me, I just do not think the classroom environment a lot of the time felt welcoming at all. A good portion of my time here, I did not feel welcome nor did I ever feel like I belonged, no matter how hard I tried, especially if your child is a very hyper individual. The school, itself, is just fine and during my time here, the only real positive I have for the school are the teachers. The teachers were basically the main highlight and made me want to continue my education and a lot of their words and lessons still impact me to this day. I do think the staff of the school care deeply for the students, except for the principal. Parents, you are better off sending your child elsewhere if you don't want your child feeling like they don't belong somewhere. Just walking in through the doors you are in for a wonderful experience with the staff and the willingness of their Director Ms. Shannon to give you a tour! Ms. Shannon has a heart of gold and shows her passion in all she does and the way she talks and greets the kids. My daughter is always very anxious and mornings can be hard on her but I can always count on Ms. Shannon or Ms. Rachelle(Asst. Director) to welcome my girl, hug her and entertain her to help ease morning transitions. My daughter loves her school, talks about her teachers, and upon pick up always asks me if she can stay longer! This to me says TONS! I love how involved Ms. Shannon is and it gives me peace of mind that my daughter always finds comfort with her. Also, when my daughter had some difficult times and I reached out to Ms. Shannon and Ms. Ebony the COO, they were extremely helpful all the way and immediately stepped in to resolve the issue. The open communication at all times makes a huge difference. I brought in my daughter right at the start of the COVID pandemic, and just as they were figuring out all the protocols, they took my concerns very seriously and always responded to my concerns. I work in healthcare and this was a HUGE concern for my husband and I, but FA always responded and we felt very comfortable having our daughter in school during these crazy times. She has now transitioned from the 2/3 year old classroom from her favorite teacher Ms. Reyna to the 4/5 year olds, and as said before transitions are very hard for her, and yet again Ms. Shannon and Ms. Rachelle have done everything possible to help my girl during this time and i can say this has been such a smooth change for her. They value the parents input and most importantly they listen and advocate for each child. They also have a focus on STEAM education and that's been huge for my daughter, she now comes home and wants to do homework or experiments! I love this but sometimes I have to reach out and ask how they did something so we can recreate it just as she did it at school! We are eternally grateful to future Achievers and the amazing staff!
