I must say, I was very disappointed with the services I received from McPheeters & Assoc., given…read morethe fact that I DID my research. They were not the cheapest bid I received, but right in the middle. I figured they were worth a shot ... Well, the reason residential properties would even consider a land surveyor is because you are having property line issues with your neighbors. So, they come out and tell you exactly where your property line lies. Yup! Not the case!! They came out, did their thing, and the land surveyor was in too much of a hurry to answer all my questions because he had to pick up his Grandson from school. So, when I followed up with questions regarding the property line, I receive an unprofessional attitude and a spiel saying: WE CANNOT TELL YOU WHAT TP DO! Ummmm, hello!! Yeah! You CAN'T tell me what to do, but you can sure make certain the property line markers are placed correctly!! I'm paying for a service that is NOT cheap!! You can STOP with the attitude. That is NOT to mention that when I finally get the owner to come out, sure enough! They confirm that the first line was measured wrong. However, by then, the mason had already dug the holes to put up my fence wall!! WHAT does this all mean??!! A huge cost to me as the owner because my wall is built 8-inches short of my property line AND front column was torn down based on the FIRST measurements McPheeters' provided. When placing a permanent wall, I assure you, all this matters!! To top matters off, the front portion was measured incorrectly, so bushes were not removed because we relied on the measurements McPheeter's first provided!! So, my fence wall is going to ZIG-ZAG ... Now, they did accept the fact that they made a mistake and placed NEW markers telling us where everything should be. Well, guess what?! We don't have the money to go thru and pay for the additional labor required to put our fence exactly where it belongs!! As it is, it's an expensive project!! The owner did offer to deduct something off my bill. In order to be fair and show a good-faith, I told her to deduct what she believes to be fair ... She only deducted $500, even though the property line and fence are not in-sync BECAUSE they measured wrong the first time around. I understand mistakes happen, but they HAVE TO improve on their customer service skills. If we hire professionals to do the job, it's BECAUSE WE don't know, so we rely on them. There shouldn't be DO-OVERS when it comes to land surveying. My recommendation? Go with a different firm. It doesn't really help to have $500 knocked off an invoice when you're left with a bigger mess than when you started and the invoice is still expensive ... And I hate to place such a negative review because small businesses rely on the community. However, as consumers, WE need to also know whom we're dealing with.
