Small in comparison to the big box stores such as Stew Leonard's, Total Wine, Bottle King, etc., but they have a GREAT fine wine selection. In fact, I made a special trip to go all the way here from home (about 50 miles each way) just to get some specific wines I couldn't find anywhere else in the state of New Jersey, according to wine-searcher.com. As a side note, if there in a particular wine you're looking for, I found that site to be pretty reliable. 15% off on wines ending in '9' if you get a case, but not all the wines have to end in a 9. (ie. You can get 11 bottles ending in '8' and only one ending in 9 and you'll get 15% off the one ending in 9). read more

He has always been good for suggestions, but when I needed help choosing the liquor for my son's wedding, he went above and beyond.His choices were excellent, he really listened to what I was trying to do and made it happen. Brilliant suggestion for the signature champagne cocktail for the toast. He made a big responsibility for me a big success. We journeyed here in hot pursuit of a gorgeous Barolo that Mr. M had enjoyed at Dante & Luigi's. This was no accidental tour, as our internet search led us to Central and its exquisite collection of wines. We were impressed by, among other things, the on-line listing of highly-rated wines by price point. That user-friendly interface led us to purchase a mixed case of wines rated 91 or better and under $15/bottle. We also were impressed by Central's willingness to set aside bottles (or cases) of vino, truly excellent prices and discounts on mixed cases. The sales associates were extraordinarily knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. Highly recommend. read more

A really great store. Impressive selection of spirits, wine and beer. All ranges of products - budget, medium, high end. Special limited edition stuff too (I bought a tequila no longer produced). Hard to even find Redbreast 27 year Irish Whiskey in a store. Nice craft beer selection, but also good European beers. The owner/manager knows what they're doing! Only reason it was not 5 stars for me was that I was looking for a brand I didn't see and I would have loved if the prices were a little better (of course, but they are super fair). read more

This is an excellent liquor and wine store. The selection is huge and the folks working there are always willing to help you find something. The wine section of the store has an amazing selection at great prices. They have weekly online specials that I have been enjoying for some time now. Lately there have been a number of Spanish wines as weekly specials. I have enjoyed trying these wines (I am normally a California red fan). The specials have enabled me to grab a bottle or two at some good prices to see what I enjoy and expand my wine horizons. I purchased 9 bottles of an expensive pinot noir from a competitor of Central Liquors. At the same time I purchased a case of the same wine from Central. The wine was bad. Probably not stored properly by the distributor. The competitor of Central apologized, emailed a return label and gave a complete refund. Not so with Central. They blamed the weather and pointed to the fact that I checked the ship it now box with the caveat of I'm not worried about the weather. They refused to take the wine back. They also refused to listen to my logic. They also hung up on me even though I wasn't argumentative. The 9 bottles and the case were shipped at the same time. The weather was not hot and impossible for the wine to spoil so badly so quickly. I sent a letter to the president, Stephen Little, in which I explained the rude hang up. I did not receive a response. Am I surprised? Central Liquors is not an honorable merchant. read more

a little more pricey than little brothers but still a much better store. the staff is extremely helpful. the two male managers always have excellent suggestions. the older gentleman always has a good suggestion on bourbon while the younger one always has a great suggestion for beer. this is the place to go if youre not positive on what you want to get and you need a few suggestions. read more
