Unexpected hidden gem! Upon driving into the vineyard I was not expecting live music or being able to seat comfortably outside while taking in the view of vineyard. We sampled 2 flights - Sparkling and Dry- our mouths were greeted with delightful flavors, so much so we purchased 2 cases since it's unknown when we will be able to return. The Blackberry Sparkling Wine was the best we ever tasted. If anyone is in the area .. stop by and check out the cold and refreshing wine slushies. This place is gorgeous and has such potential. But we are wine snobs so the lack of attention to detail for traditional wine drinkers is frustrating. The vineyard is very pretty, the tasting (flight?) room is historic and very nice. The wines are decent, nothing to write home about but if I had a bottle or glass I'd drink it. The experience, sub par. "Tastings" are offered as flights, so not tastings. On top of that, the flights are set, so you can't choose what you drink. It's just dry or sweet. There is no interaction with the staff to learn about the grapes, origin, how it's made etc etc. true wine drinkers love the traditional experience that this winery just misses the mark on. A really nice local vineyard. The vines are right by the road and the property looks very nice in springtime. We were here in early fall on a gorgeous day and the autumn colors were beautiful. We were served by the owner's daughter today. We have been here a few times before this. There is an indoor, small tasting room and samples are right on the bar in front of you or you can move to the few high tops. Outside there are tables and chairs scattered about the property we sat under a shade tree at a table for two. There are also some unusual sculptures on the property. As for the wines, stay with the whites which are for the most part fresh and clean. We liked the vidal blanc. The sweeter wines were also worth a taste the sparkling blackberry wine was very interesting. My wife loved it. We bought a bottle of the vidal blanc and had a glass outside. We have noticed that the local wineries in Bucks County PA are improving by leaps and bounds over the past ten years and think that in a few years these wines will have continued to improve in quality and that they will be drunk by many wine lovers. Flights here were pretty good. I enjoyed the Apple Pie wine & Diego Red from the sweet flight. They also give you a small wine glass souvenir to sip from & bring home. The inside has standing room seating with a few seated areas. This is a place you could definitely have a group of people meet up or private party (they have a downstairs area). There are munchies to have with your wine & a small shopping/store area. I do wish they had more seats available. Outside, the vineyard has outdoor seating with plenty of space to walk about. We came here for the first time today, even though it's a local vineyard we had passed many times. We shared a sweet flight, (they also have a dry flight) and shared a wine slushie. Today's slushie flavor was Strawberry Pina Colada which is totally me, and it did not disappoint, it was delicious! We enjoyed all of the wines in the flight, which were Diego Red, Riesling, White Sangria, Concord and Blackberry. Their bottles are reasonable priced and is a definite stop for future bottle purchases, slushies and tastings. For a snack, we purchased pita chips and a locally made cheese spread, Carmelized Onion and Asiago Cheese. The spread is made by Boldface, in Newtown, along with other spreads and soups, which are sold in local markets and farmer's markets. The cheese was delicious in flavor and made from natural ingredients. There was outdoor entertainment (a gentleman singing and playing guitar) and lawn furniture and tables for guests. read more

Such a great learning experience coming from a girl like me whose not a big alcohol person! I really enjoyed myself all while learning about wines. So I came to Buckingham Valley winery with a small group of girls and we had a blast. It was funny cause in the beginning we were all kinda quiet and after drinking a sample of two or three or four you get a little comfortable and start talking and talking and yep talking some more lol! So the staff was fabolous, I was the only one that got carded yep and I'm in my thirties so wow what a compliment. They did a great job with explaining the process. They have three selections of wines to try which are red, white and sweet. I realized I'm more of a sweet wine kinda girl. My favorites of them all was the diego red in the red wine category. Niagara and Riesling in the white wines and blackberry and Holiday Spice in the sweet wines. Overall it's self tasting and the wines were all on chill. We sampled over 15 different flavored wines for 5.00 and we all got to tour the vineyards and go home with our complimentary wine glass. Thanks Buckingham Valley for a wonderful time. On a Saturday afternoon, stopped in at this winery. Live music playing outside and people sitting -- enjoying their wine. We came in as a group of five and the staff placed our $5 miniature wine glasses (which you can keep) on the counter quickly to show us how to pour the wines. He explained that the wines ranged from dry to sweet. Pretty much after that, you're on your own and can taste multiple different wines yourself. Also, they have a sheet to rate the wines. One of the pros to coming here is that you can try a lot of their wines. Personally, I did not like most of the wines. Some of the testers I felt did not necessarily have refined taste. What literally put a bad taste in my mouth is that a male staff was pretty rude to one of us. One of the wine bottles that was poured -- came out into the glass that was "more than a taste". The staff took the glass out of hand, proceeded to toss it out (wine and miniature glass), and handed the right amount of wine. Are you serious? What a waste. Not okay. Got the sweet wine flight.... And the frozen strawberry lemonade. The wine was pretty good some just had a less than pleasant after taste. Niagara wine was the best, red sangria and Concordia are close second. The strawberry lemonade was yuck... a perfume taste. The winery was clean, nice music, but the wine staff (men) where awful. Not inviting at all, after I ordered, i got my flight and asked for napkins, they made me wait, then gave me 2 paper towels. The food choices were awful as well. Will never go back. I'll go to Bishops or the crossings from now on! Also wine was not great either. read more

Buckingham Valley Vineyards is another beautifully laid out small acreage winery specializing is the sweeter vintages of fruit and grape based fermentations. Like some of the others in the area it is second generation family run operation with the love and care given the vines obvious to any who stop in for a self guided tour and the tasting available throughout the year. Although I prefer drier wines, I have sampled the bottles and casks here and found them to be pretty good, but not what I want to purchase for personal consumption. Still, a relaxing afternoon overlooking the long rows of arbors sipping peach and blackberry wines and heavier port like sipping liqueurs has a very mellowing effect on the soul. Honesty, let's start with how promising this place looks. The grounds are beautiful. Walk inside to, two uninteresting, uneducated to their product staff members who clearly felt they were better then most everyone. We got two tastings, which included the glass. The wine was subpar. I've had better in a box honestly. Also when I showed the girl the glass she gave me had lipstick on it, she was almost insulted. I will not be going back or purchasing their products. read more

This is my favorite stop on the Bucks County wine trail. When spending the afternoon hopping around different vineyards, we always plan to stay here for at least an hour, if not more. The wines are awesome. They have a great mix of red, white, and fruit wines, each with a very unique flavor profile. I'm a huge fan of the fruit wines that come out of this area, and each one here is definitely worth tasting. As the fruit growing and harvesting season has a significant effect on the taste of the wines, it is fun to see which ones have changed in flavor from the year before. For $5, you get a glass, and you get to pour your own tastes. You can choose 8, and it's on the honor system. We like the self-serve option since we've been here before and like to taste at our own pace, but if you are new, and have questions...you'll have to find someone and ask. They have goldfish and a nice sharp cheddar on the counter, both of which accompany the wine pretty well (yay snacks!) and can help as you move from red to white to fruit wine. Their tasting room is pretty big, is fun to hang around in, AND they have an excellent outdoor area with plenty of seats, green grass, and a relaxing water feature. After our tasting we always get a glass (or in today's case, a red wine slushy) and sit outside (and/or lay on the grass). The best part? The bottle prices. Nothing is over $12.50 (except the port at $16), and most bottles are less than $10. You can stock up on a case and you won't pay much more than $100, if you even hit that at all. Favorites? This is one of my favorite wineries I've visited in the past few years for the simple fact that you pour your own tastes!!!! How easy is that!? How great is that?!?! :) The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, even on a cold, rainy, and dreary day that we visited... I enjoyed my visit to Buckingham Valley. You can try 8 wines for $5 and another $5 for the sparkling wine tasting. They call it champagne, but it's not true champagne. I'm not a wine snob by any means, but it's like calling a 5k a marathon. The wine tasting is self serve, which I love. I don't need to sit there and here someone say, you'll taste cherries, blah, blah, blah. Rarely do I taste what they say it should taste like. I like to enjoy my wine and ask questions if I have any. They have a nice variety of dry to sweet wines and white and red. I did both the wine tasting and the sparkling wine. Some were great, some were ok. I didn't have anything I didn't like. You can also buy glasses and bottles to consume there. They also have a small beer selection and some food, but you're welcome to bring your own. This winery has great decor. And sipping wine in the basement with all the wine barrels was the bomb! The staff was friendly and there was a nice selection of wines to taste. They have a very good Pinot Grigio that my wife and I love. We did get a free wine glass. It is a very small stemless. Almost like a wine shot glass. Probably won't use it for any wine sipping. My favorite wine comes from Buckingham Valley Vineyards! It is a small tasting area, but with lots of character. For $5 you get to taste 8 wines. I am obsessed with: Diego Red and Holiday Spice. In particular Holiday Spice is the type of wine that can be served warm with oranges or just chilled like sangria. Diego Red is not a wine to be served warm, but it is good enough to drink all year round. Their spumante (sparkling) wine is great too, especially the peach flavored one. I like to come here to as part of the Bucks County wine trail, this place has good prices on wine too ($6- $12). They offer discounts for cases of $1 less per bottle, they have a few wine trinkets to buy too, as well as snacks if you forget yours. This is a great place for a date, a group of friends or simply a fabulous way to spend a Sunday after brunch. read more

I was so very disappointed in this winery. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, but it is a shame that the wines produced here are below average. First off, there is almost no service to speak of. I was there on a Saturday in the summer and was surprised by the crowd, the tasting room was packed full. The women working seemed nice enough, but were harried and just barely able to sell me my tasting glass. You then have to pour your own wines. Listen, I'm basically a wino, but when I go to a winery I would like some sort of guidance. Tell me a story about the wine, or what it pairs well with, or something? That's part of the winery experience and it's missing here. Additionally many people are gluttons when it comes to 'samples' and were clearly pouring more than the allotted amount for a tasting. It was very chaotic trying to find an available wine to pour myself. I truly did not care for most of the wines. All were very average, but the cherry wine specifically was the worst offender, having an extremely bitter aftertaste. Of course I did not want to drink the rest, so I had to wait a while until a host could dump it for me. They don't have any spittoons or sinks around, so if you don't want to drink the wine, or don't like it, good luck getting rid of it. In terms of the wines you should check out here, the Niagara and Rose were decent enough. Not something I loved or would buy over and over again, but drinkable at least. This place could be great. The gorgeous views alone are not enough to get me to come back. I think I'll just drive on by next time I pass this place. read more

Maybe I'm old fashioned. But what ever happened to greeting the customer. Hi. Welcome to Buckingham Winery. Or hi welcome back. Nice to see you again. Here's what I got. After being a customer for at least the past ten years. Granted maybe visit ing once or twice a year. Coming in from good old Brooklyn, New York. No greeting. Just a quick and fast "What could I get you?" Really? Here's another. No one even asks if you need help getting the two cases that I purchased for $260.00 to my car. At least have a few red wagons should be on site. Make it easy for the customer to get the merchandise to the car without having to schelp it yourself. Wow. So I get to the Clarion motel down in New Hope. Was so ready for a glass of Holiday Spice wine. And was I disappointed. Which I did call the winery about. Here's what I was told. Oh it must be a bad batch. Excuse me? Why would you bottle and sell a "bad batch?" Hello people I'm from Brooklyn. We're hard to fool. That Holiday Spice wine was "watered down". Plain and simple. So now I'm paying for a half bottle of wine. Mixed with water. For the full price. You might be fooling some if your customers. But stupid I'm not. You should be fined for this. Maybe thrown in jail. For deceiving the paying public. Not nice. And by the way. Learn how to smile and greet your customers. It's part of your job. Not just grabbing the credit card and ringing up a sale. Bye bye Buckingham Winery. I will never return. If you're over running a winery why don't you sell the property. Your heart and soul is obviously not into this business. I'm sure you will get a ton of money for the acreage. Maybe then you will smile. read more

I really enjoyed the laid back wine tasting experience. $5 for 8 samples. The employees were helpful and gave us a brief description of the selection. You can stand inside or sit at a picnic table outside. You can even venture down to the wine cellar downstairs. I purchased a bottle of the Diego Red (semi-sweet red) and a t-shirt. Both at very reasonable prices. My absolute favorite part was the wine slushees. Delicious and refreshing on the 90 degree day that i went. I will definitely be back. read more

We have been regulars at Buckingham Winery for about 15 years. We love them so much that we even had their wine at our wedding as favors. Their wine is reasonably priced and our favorite in the Bucks County area. The Diego Red is a favorite with family and friends alike. I like the relaxed vibe inside and options for enjoying wine outside too. Great customer service...one time we got a bad batch of wine and they replaced with no issues. Stopped here this past Saturday. It's $5 for 8 tastings and includes a souvenir glass. It's the first winery I've been to where you serve yourself. Since it's a small space, this made it possible for more people to do tastings at the same time. They have a good variety of red, white and sweet wines. I tried mostly red wines and ended up taking home bottles of the Chambourcin and Rose. They also serve wine slushies. We took advantage of the warm weather and sat outside with our wine slushies. The parking lot isn't huge so you might have to wait for a spot on a busy day. read more

I have been to this winery 3 times now. I have enjoyed it every time! It is $5 for a tasting and you get 7-8 wine tastings. The tasting is serve yourself which I like so you can go at your own pace. The wine is inexpensive to buy a bottle and tasty! The wine slushies are also very good!The outside seating is nice and there is usually live music during nice weather. Went specifically to this local winery to support a local business as I was buying wines and champagne for my daughters wedding. I asked the woman behind the counter, (who was busy chatting to a co-worker?), for a taste of various champagnes they have. She acted like it was the biggest deal (that's her job!) and didn't even offer my wife a tasting glass! I asked for another small taste to finalize my decision (she knew I was buying for a wedding!) and gave me a look like I had been drinking free all day! I did buy a number of bottles of champagne and wine because I procrastinated, and I've hesitated to write this review because of supporting local business, but please make visiting your winery a more happier experience! read more

I was super surprised by this winery! My bf had mentioned it on several occasions when we passed by, but time just hadn't allowed for us to stop. But this past weekend on a particularly mild December Saturday we got the chance to stop for a quick hour as part of date day and Christmas shopping to have a few sips. (More like, just me having a few sips as the bf doesn't drink wine) The grounds are beautiful, and from what I can tell well maintained. The grass was plush even in this December weather (it has been mild) - parking lot easy to navigate, and the signage / walkway was nice and lead you right to the tasting room. There are a few tables outside to enjoy a glass or two and look over some of the grounds. The small glass you get for the tasting is adorable and a very nice keepsake. It's sturdy, not too thin, not too thick and felt good in the hand given the small stature. I think if you wanted to host your own wine tasting for friends, these little glasses would be perfect. (Yay an excuse to return!) On our visit, because of the unusually nice weather, the place was jam packed. The employees though, were all cool calm and collected. Answering questions when they could, boxing up wine orders, and scanning the crowed for newly entered customers that were interested in a tasting. Red samples to the left, 1 oz pours perfectly measured out by the stoppers, on to the whites, then the dessert wines, and finally sparkling by request. I sampled about 5 (8 are included in your nominal 5 buck charge for the tasting), as well as a sparkling and was instantly hooked on the brut. A bottle of that to go for me and such an awesome price! All of the wines are priced very attractively! Courtney was so pleasant, smiles all the time - very nice personality and well versed on the winery, history of the place, and the wines themselves. Even though it was jam packed with people, she really took the time to make each person feel welcome, as if they were the only customers there. Just a word to the wise, if you go and its super crowded - be prepared for intoxicated and somewhat rude people. Human nature these days. Also, please be kind, if you took a sample...step to the side so the next person can get theirs. People lingered way too long directly in front of the samples and it caused quiet the bottleneck. read more
