A front desk staff member immediately came to the room. After trying to get it working, she not only promptly moved us to an upgraded room, she checked several to be sure we got the one with the best possible a/c and even offered to help us move our bags. We did not lose even a half hour of our vacation time! In general this is a wonderful place! It's well maintained and very clean. Every staff person we encountered was warm, friendly, and helpful. I appreciated that a 24 hour guest laundry is available up near the cabins. Our room came with nice toiletries, a decent blow dryer, and the shower had great water pressure.

I played here the morning of my wedding with my groomsmen, it was cold, really cold. In fact it was snowing on one of the holes at the top of the mountain. Yes a mountain. At least it feels that way when playing. the holes are up hill or down hill, not a whole lot of level playing. But Fun! But that was one of my most enjoyable games. This is the only course i have ever played where i will always get a cart. I just don't feel like walking up a mountain. The resort itself is awesome, the rooms are great, the views of Bras Dor Lakes are great, the food is oh-so-good. I can't wait to play this course, on a nicer summer day. The counter staff were VERY slow, we stood there for 15 minutes waiting for a CSR to open up. Next it is HUGE expensive. They charge 40 an hour per lane and 4 bucks each for shoe rental. They didn't spray the shoes. So you can expect for a family of four one hour of bowling to cost you almost 80 bucks. Next up it's dark in there like midnight bowling in the afternoon dark. The lane beds are all jammed together so there is very little room between bowlers and the pit area is just a sideways couch so you can't really see what's happening on the lane. There is no room at all in the pit just jammed in with the other people. They scrimped on the building size and just put as many lanes in as they could. This is not what you are used to at other bowling alleys. Don't leave your boots or shoes where they want you to at the front, we did and our lane shoes got wet. When we were leaving someone was complaining that their boots were stolen. This isn't a "real" bowling alley, you couldn't have leagues here in my opinion.

Disappointing Stay - Holiday Inn Sydney Waterfront…read more My wife and I hadn't been back to Sydney in nearly 40 years, so we were excited to return last weekend to reconnect with friends and family. We booked our stay through HCI, using some of our points. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. When we arrived, our room wasn't ready. That was the first red flag. The lobby furniture was noticeably worn and tired-looking. Once we were finally able to check in, we noticed smudged paint around the door and wall of our room. Inside, there was a gap between the hallway carpet and the tile in the suite -- signs of poor maintenance. Still, we decided to stay. That's when we discovered that the toilet didn't work. We contacted the front desk and were told the maintenance staff was unavailable -- and that we'd need to use a plunger ourselves. Seriously? No one ever showed up, and no plunger was provided. We were forced to use the lobby restrooms, which were in even worse condition: stall locks broken, sinks that didn't drain, and stained porcelain everywhere. We informed the front desk that we had lunch reservations and would be returning around 1:00 PM. We asked for either a working toilet by then or a new room. We also made it clear that if neither was addressed, we would not be staying another night. This is not the level of cleanliness or service I expect from Holiday Inn or IHG. I tried to find a way to contact Holiday Inn or IHG directly to provide this feedback, but had no luck -- so I'm sharing it here. Hope this helps others. If you do stay here, lower your expectations.

I don't recommend walking in front of the hotel with dogs on the sidewalk though. The grass isn't cut, and there is trash and who knows what thrown in the long grass in front of the hotel. Loved the bed, the pillows, the soaps and the staff. We enjoyed this hotel so much. I could see the Big Fiddle at the dock from my window! So wonderful to watch the glow on the water change over the course of a few days. Morning, afternoon, evening, night. This place is also very central to many good places to go - like the Governor's Pub across the street with live music every Saturday night. And the Cidery a little ways up the road - live music on Sunday nights. My dogs and I enjoyed our stay very much. 100%. Loved this place. Hope to go back some day. ALSO - it was interesting to stay here for a few days and see how the port changes when there is a ship in the port or not. How busy it can get, how quiet it can be, what the locals do differently when there is no ship in port. It was all very interesting in early June, 2024.

We just had a party at play palace by the hospital and the kids were all sitting at the table…read moreeating, instead of coming in and asking us politely to pack up the stuff she comes in while everyone was eating and grabs the table cloth with everyone's food and toys still on it and garbaged everything, I got up and was like whoa what're you doing. She said your time is up and keeps throwing everything in the garbage, I said wow I'm taking your picture so everyone can see this, she fucking puts a pizza box to my face. We had to dig the toys out of the garbage. All she had to do was come in and ask nicely. She couldn't even do that. She came in and gave us attitude, literally just walked in and said your times up and threw all our food and toys in the garbage. I bought all those toys and loot bags for the kids to take home. And when I asked for the manager she said she was the manager, when I got home I found out she wasn't and she pulls all this shit in front of a room full of kids. My family had to get out the room because she kept arguing with me when I asked if we can at least put our stuff away ourselves cause she didnt even ask us what we were saving or what we were throwing away, she just garbaged everything on us. When the pizza guy came to deliver the pizza he asked if there were any parties there TODAY and she goes and tells him that there isnt any party at the play palace today. So my pizza was late cause she told them there was no parties. I been calling all week asking if we had the whole hour to eat and they tell me yes than go and pull this on us. I was very upset. There was no need of all that. Her name is tessa and this is her in the pictures throwing all of our shit in the garbage. Can someone help me get ahold of the owner & the actual manager.

I booked a party from 2-4 and a week before I sent them a message asking at what time would we be able to go and decorate the party room. They told me 2:30! Half hour into the actual party. I understand I only had the actual party room from 3-4 but the party I booked in total was 2-4 so anyone unless told otherwise would expect to be able to decorate before the party time frame. When I questioned them they told me I misunderstood and made it out to be my fault when I infant was never told I wouldn't be able to decorate prior to the party. They expected me to leave all my food and decorations in the car for half hour then rush to get the room set up while our guests were playing. Further more the customer service has been terrible. They told me they would refund my deposit and asked for my email to e transfer. Then they never sent it. 4 hours later I called and the girl told me she would have to get her manager to call me. No one ever did. 5 hours later I received my deposit back via etransfer with a message "sent". So very unprofessional.
