Beyoncé class is a little too easy. If you have no dance experience I'd recommend that. The instructor focused a lot more on certain students and barely gave me any criticism, which I understood because I had prior dance experience, but it just felt like a waste of time because I was there to learn and I wasn't learning. Staff is nice. Would go again but take a different class. read more

I take ballet classes at home in the US, and I thought it would be fun to try a class in Paris when I was there for vacation recently. It was a super fun experience, and I'm so glad I tried it! The studio is off from the road, through an arch and in a courtyard, with the main lobby in the back right corner. I checked in with them, and they directed me to the right room for the class I wanted to take. The people working the desk don't seem to speak much english, so make sure you know what you want to ask in french if you're a visitor like me! If you're looking for ballet classes (as they're known in America), they're known as "danse classique" in France. I took the beginner-intermediate class with Ghislain Compreignac, and it was harder than I was expecting - much faster paced and more difficult than my intermediate classes at home. It was taught in French, although Ghislain did translate a few things to English when I guess I looked lost. Despite the difficulty, it was a really great class - challenging, a great workout, and I didn't feel unwelcome even when I was struggling a bit to keep up. It was awesome being able to drop in for a single class, although you can get a card to take several classes if you're around for awhile. I just took the one class, and an hour and a half was €18 (pricier than what I pay at home by about 50%). Bring cash, especially if you take only one class - I had to pay the instructor rather than the front desk. If you take dance classes and find yourself in Paris, I completely recommend giving this a shot - it was such a fun experience (and a good way to work off some of the bread and cheese I'd been eating all week). I'll definitely plan a couple more classes into my next visit to Paris. read more

Lots of different dance classes to choose from, as well as singing, acting and drawing classes. Most of them are good and there is a pretty wide range of personalities. I have taken flamenco, samba, Beyoncé, Ladyshock, drawing, theatre, Sophrology (relaxation/meditation), dancehall, and floor barre and have been impressed. That said, Mia Frye is incredibly rude, abusive and hateful. I have no idea why anyone would take her class more than once. Mia Frye est LA PIRE. read more

LOVE this dance studio. The setting is just georgeous. a little "cour" right off the Rue du temple, filled with dance classes. All around you you can look around and see glimpses of different dance types from Flamenco, to hip-hop, african, salsa....for dance lovers it's just great! The classes also are quite good! You can buy a pass to try 5 different classes and then pick the one you like and sign up, or keep paying as you come. (but it gets a little expensive) And i you have friends waitin for you to finish the dance class, there is a cafe underneath, with great tex mex and cocktails. The general atmosphere is quite friendly, how could it not be given the good mood watching and listening to all these dance styles! read more

I study tango and had a great experience at the school. It's a wonderful atmosphere for starters. I did both private classes and collective and enjoyed both. The technique training was different than I had previously encountered in the US, but I welcomed the change and the challenge. It's helpful to come at the art form from a new direction, non? My foot technique is improved. Lia Nanni clearly loves tango and will impart that love on to her students. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. My classmates clearly enjoyed the class as much as me and their smiles were infectious! read more

This was one of the highlights of my month in Paris. The front desk staff, classes and charm of the Centre made it a great destination for a variety of workouts . I tried many different kinds of classes ( hip hop, yoga, classical dance, Feldenkrais,, street dance, , rocknroll, etc.) The studios are interspersed throughout the large complex and each is named for composers ( Bizet, Devusssy, Chopin). Each instructor was professional and inspiring. Since the classes were all in French, and my French skills aren't too good, other students were helpful. I felt so welcome there and came back raving about my experience. read more

Was hoping I could squeeze in a hip hop class in Paris but the class I picked (with Mia Frye) was disappointing and I didn't come back. It was very crowded and it was almost 60 minutes of stretching and warm up. There were groups of 3 doing exercises across the floor and no choreography (which is what I was really hoping for). Maybe there was another class that would have been more suited for this. read more
