Red and swollen with other foot with "shredded nails"

I'm in utter shock and disturbed with how my dog was treated at the DMV Lachine. This place should not be allowed to care for dogs. I brought my dog in because she had blood in her urine(keep in mind my dog is blind and hard at hearing which they were told that multiple times, her vet was closed because they had covid cases). They wouldn't allow anyone to be with theirs dogs so we all had to wait outside(I understand why, now, so you don't see the abuse they cause on your animals) we were there for 8 hours! I kept asking how she is doing and they told me "she's stable", I asked if she's been given water because we've been here for so long...the 3 people I spoke to including the vet said "yes, of course". Well...I see my dog, she's historical, dry throat and it's CLEAR!!!! she needs water!!!! I said wtf is wrong with her!?!?! The technician said "oh, she's not like this at home?" I look her like, really? Your going to lie to me now? I said obviously not!? She needs water!?!?? Did you give her water? "Yes, of course". I said clearly not!? And why is she full of dirt!?? "Oh we bring them outside" okay then why is her stomach full of dirt!?! Where was she!?!?! "Oh we have them in a cage" so I said outside? Because she's full of dirt on her stomach this makes no sense!!! And I said you had her in a cage for 8 hours, she's blind and old age and gets confused, how big was the cage!?!...she didn't respond and looked at me like deer in the head lights....my dog flopped over in needing a LOT of water/relief to see me. I started to cry, this was very hard to see how mistreated she was for 8 hours and they pretend like everything okay!. We got home at around 4am, she drank two full bowls of water, I noticed this morning that under her nails have been "shredded" a bit, as if she was trying to get away, her paws are red/some swollen. Her breathing is different as if they were choking her. This place SHOULD NOT BE OPEN!!! DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL THERE!! This is absolutely disgusting that an emergency vet clinic is open for these poor animals! Everyone needs to know about this! Put it on the damn news!!! I never write anything bad about any company but this was disturbing and everyone needs to know!!

I got this card from them today...

I would strongly recommend not bringing your rabbit here…read more My friend's rabbit, Charlie, was brought in for a routine neuter and ended up needing a revision surgery the same day. Despite that, he was still discharged. Within hours of being home, his condition deteriorated severely. He developed significant bleeding and a large hematoma and had to be rushed to an emergency hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. What's most concerning is the lack of care and communication. My friend was told a vet would speak with her at pickup, which never happened. When she called later that day about active bleeding, she was told to send photos and received no response. She has since followed up multiple times and no one has returned her calls. Rabbits are fragile and require very careful post-operative monitoring. Based on this experience, I do not believe this clinic is adequately equipped or experienced to handle rabbits, especially in a surgical context. This was an extremely distressing experience. I would not trust this clinic with a rabbit.

Before commenting on the new owners who took over the Liesse Clinic, I would like to say a few…read morewords about the former owner Dr. Langill. In the past I frequently went to Dr. Langill for the animals I rescued. He provided solid & affordable veterinary care to countless number of animals over the years. So many who, without him, would have suffered, died &/ or been euthanized. He offered a unique & critically needed service to people who loved their animals but could not afford the standard high cost of veterinary care. I can personally attest to the many rescued animals, who were in urgent need of medical care, (as well as those who had owners), who owe their lives & health to Dr. Langil, a compassionate & special vet. I will follow the above with remarks about the new owners shortly.

We arrived at 11 and called the reception and was told to wait outside while they are opening a file for one of our dogs. We were at the door when we were asked to step aside because a customer (which is white - I'm mentioning the race since it's relevant to this review) arrived and needed to pick up medicine which is fine that she gets to be served before us since she was only picking up medication. We ended up waiting for an hour outside so we called again and we were told that we were late (the lady never mention that they will not see us anymore and made us wait outside for few more minutes) and then something distasteful happened, a white couple arrived in their fancy car and they did not only get to be served first, the employee actually went outside to assist them ( a courtesy that they didn't give us) and bring the couple's dog inside first. I would have tolerated it if it was only me waiting but we had our two dogs with us and they were getting overheated waiting outside. This place is utterly repugnant. It treated us like a second class citizen so If you are a person of colour avoid this place at all cost for the sake of both your dignity and your pets' well-being but if you are white by all means go to this place because you will be treated like a royal and they will cater to your every whims.

Admittedly my pet requires regular follow ups but I was never asked to carry out so many tests where I previously lived. And meds were kept to a minimum for the pet's sake. The doctor was not overly friendly with my pet. Previous vets I saw took their time to reassure him and ear his trust but here they were in a hurry and I almost felt like they treated him like a car to repair. To the point where he was very stressed. A few times I asked some questions about his condition but the responses I got were pretty vague. Everywhere else I have been there was the option to pay in installments but not here. They expected $500 right away (this was not an emergency, just a regular check up). When I asked if it was possible to pay in 2 installments (as I did not expect such a high fee) they looked at me like I was trying to avoid payment and made them waste their time. I had to ask for a quote before all the tests were carried out because otherwise they were just proceeding oblivious to my presence. I have owned pets all my life and dealt with many vets. These were the ones who impressed me the least. I would not go back. I do not recommend them. There are many better clinics in Montreal where they don't deal with customers with attitude and take time to discuss options/interact with your pet.

Death due to continued incompetence. If your very much-loved…read morepet family member need care or is really sick this veterinarian clinic is a terrible place to bring them for treatment. Take the time to REVIEW the lowest ones, and you will see the truth of how bad this place is when it comes to critical care, especially in the past year. The really sad and most devastating part is that I didn't get to spend the last important days with my cat before he died. I didn't get the time nor the chance to make him comfortable. Instead, I was instructed to force feed him medication that ultimately he didn't need while he was slowly dying!! This was a TERRIBLE just TERRIBLE situation. Not only did you give me false hope, but you misdiagnosed my beloved cat which is not only totally heartless and cruel, it was unethical and warrants repercussions. Most of the positive reviews are for simple appointments but when critical care is needed then they are completely incompetent and don't care much about you. Instead, they focus on potential income. Same story over and over again. When you are dealing with a family members' life there should be no bad reviews or maybe 1 or 2 which should be explained and not ignored over and over again. It has to be fixed and not excused away. Even their responses are always the same instead of taking responsibility. I strongly recommend that you DON'T GO THERE! You are better off going to the REAL hospital in Laval which is close by. Costs will be the same BUT with services from real experienced veterinaries. Don't be tricked into thinking that this is a real hospital. If I can save someone else's family member I would start by leaving this review. My cat died because he was initially mis-diagnosed all the symptoms of what was later accurately and quickly diagnosed as cancer by the hospital in Laval. Instead, they felt that it was just a virus sold me tick and ear medication as well! Just for increased income. They really know how to get you when you are most venerable! When I went back for an emergency appointment since my cat got progressively worse, for which I was immediately told included extra costs.I don't mind paying extra but failure to provide the essential service for it is just another money grab! This clinic did not even bother to follow up from the initial diagnostics. During the emergency appointment, they only took my cat's temperature and weight and the mis-diagnostics continued! They failed to see the seriousness of my cat's deteriorating health, took their time and had me waiting for over an hour! They did not show care nor ANY compassion. In fact when I raised my concerns they just told me to leave. It was at this point that I immediately headed to the Veterinary hospital in Laval which is the next hospital closest to me. This hospital staff saw my cat right away with no waiting time since they OBVIOUSLY could tell that he was in CRITICAL condition: anemic, very weak and skinny as well. The technician was actually visibly shocked at her state. Laval did the necessary tests but it was too late. My cat had to be EUTHANIZED! I should have just gone to Laval at the very beginning. I went back there to file a complaint with management. They basically called me a liar and stated that their technician had instructed me to go to Laval which was totally not true. In fact the only reason they knew I went there was because the Laval hospital requested the original diagnostics to know what testing had been done. They therefore they had no choice but to lie and say they sent me there to protect themselves! They said that their medical manager would call me to follow up. I have yet to hear from them! How is it that they are referred to as a hospital when they don't have the necessary equipment nor experienced staff. They even saw me in their unsanitary emergency room. In reality they just care about money and how they can upsell. What is shocking the most is that they state that they we will treat your pet as if it were their own.... Total lies! I will follow up legally with them.
