I received the best treatment for my hand. All the employees were very helpful and hope that continue like this.

I have to say this place has been horrible. While some individuals were good and caring. Most of the staff is uncaring, lack of empathy and it feels almost abusive. They look unhappy and it shows. I blame hospital management for not doing their jobs. There's a poster outside from the government and Trump si ending money in the hospital. They should be transparent regarding where is that money going. It's very, very sad. read more

This is the WORST hospital! My daughter fell off the electric scooter and was referred by another facility. They told my daughter she had 2 temporal fractures, an air pocket that was concerning, and a brain bleed. They gave us wrong or mis-information multiple times. At 1 point the neurology staff told us she was getting released only to turn around and say she needed to stay 3 more days! Because she had multiple fractures, etc. then they tell me she is a "ward of the state" and I, her mom, is unable to sign her out of the hospital. Every patient was in the hallway, sanitation was not a priority. There was no privacy. The sheets were filthy and stain ridden. A patient peeing out in the open. They finally let me sign her out "against their recommendation ". We fly home to the states, immediately visit the Neurologist here only to be told she has NO skull fractures, no air pocket, and a small bleed which at worst is a concussion! They must have noticed we have good health insurance and are taking advantage!! Stay away or go to a private facility. read more

The orthopedic wing is absolutely disgusting. The way they don't have enough seats for people with literal BONE ISSUES is a disgrace. Malpractice is frequently going on. My son came 3 times from Vieques for a fractured arm and all 3 times, they placed a cast and compressed his wrist instead of the actual fracture which was left free moving. They gaslit me into thinking it was getting better but all the X-rays looked the same and his literal arm was STILL FUCKING CROOKED. This hospital needs to be shut down. read more

I was on hold for over an hour and a half trying to get through to someone in the emergency room to confirm my baby brother was brought there from another city located three hours away!!!! I kept hanging up and calling begging to speak to someone!! Finally got through to a woman who said " sorry we short staffed and the girl is alone answering calls" so literally two hours to get through to just say yes he is here I can't share anymore info and she hung up! If I had the powers I would have flown to PR and gotten him out to the states ! read more

As others have said, don't come here unless you're a) coming in an ambulance and b) it's a possibly fatal injury!! We were sent here at 8pm for a street dog bite by Presbyterian Hospital's ER, who said "only Centro Médico" had the rabies, etc shots. We saw a doc at 4:30am, who told us we needed shots (That's why we're here!) and that the nurse would call us to get them. At 8:30am, no nurse. We walked out, and headed to our doctor's office, who was horrified they hadn't at least started an antibiotic drip. Lost over 12 hours there - I was scared of the overworked trauma system in PR before, and now I'm TERRIFIED. Also, they don't give the rabies shot. IMPORTANT NOTE: if you come to the ER, bring warm clothes and blankets. It's FREEZING. All the other patients were wrapped in blankets they brought from home. read more

This is a very bad pmace to be if you are truly ill. Short of staff, and the staff that is here have a never ending unimportant attitude. The doctors seem not to care, with it's exception, if course. But the medics that have attended my mother just seem not to care at all. She came because of a secure and 7 days later has not been visited by a physical therapist, which she truly needs. I give this emergency room a -F. Very, very bad attendance. The biggest problem NO ONE CARES, all is frolliness, and all around clowning on behalf of the staff. It is a shame that they call themselves emergency medical workers. Sincerely not true, of course there are exceptions maybe 1 in 100th. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. read more

THIRD WORLD COUNTRY HOSPITAL ! THIS IS A SLAUGHTERHOUSE! MATADERO FULL* Family member was scheduled for surgery. Checked in at 0600 and doctor arrived at 1000. Due to covid, I was sent to my car to wait for 8 hrs (the best part of my experience because I had AC, my own space and Netflix). They told me twice that I was going to receive a call to get my mom's belongings and I was the one making the calls. They put her into a room to recover post-op around 2:30. Again, I found out because I called. They only told me: Go to room *** at the *th floor and that's it. No directions. I had to chase and do my own scavenger hunt. Let's get to the best part yet: You have to bring even your own urinal, sheets, pillows, soaps, hygiene stuff, and pay parking and TV**** ($7.00 per day). Nurses on this floor don't have priorities and my nurse started at 3pm and she didn't stop by until 5:45. No introduction, no name, no orders for my mom and no plan for the night. I did all their job, except meds because I can't. I cleaned her, I assessed her, I made her pee, I had to bring from my house my own gloves, I had to restock paper towels on my sink, I had to ask for more hand sanitizer, and more. Went home to take a quick shower and I comeback with my mom waiting for the nurse/techs to help her pee again (almost 40 minutes). I called my nurse myself and first I ask, what's your name and give me a supervisor. Supervisor came and she was more intimidating than the Night Stalker. She threatened me of kicking me out of the hospital because my voice was loud and I couldn't content myself. She said: "I just listen to you the same way I listen everybody". I told her: "Thanks for listening, I feel better", but I told her... I don't wanna be treated like this if the situation was my case. Then, 2 nurses came and helped me with my mom. My mom is very stable and almost a self, but since we don't have instructions on what to do (drink, pee, poop, etc), I was just waiting for instructions. Nobody has touched my mom's legs for DVT, nobody has assessed her NG tube, nobody has assessed her wound, THIS IS A DISASTER. Not to mention I wanted a private room with the fee that I was able to pay and nobody has got back to me. I would never COME TO THIS PLACE! Hospital structure is old, antique and breaking in pieces. There is no phones in the rooms and each room has two patients. There's one bathroom for 4 patients (TOTALLY INHUMAN DURING COVID TIMES). I brought my own sanitizer, wipes and cleaners. Don't come to this place. This is the worst hospital in the whole world. The staff? Not competent at all. read more

This is the very worst hospital I've been to in my life. I'm high functioning quadriplegic but completely paralyzed. I had a car accident since I was here and went to a hospital. That hospital referred me here saying I need a back surgeon as I have bulging discs and even more complicated injuries than that and that Centro Médico was the only place equipped. I have been here now for 15 hours, no food, one tiny sip of water after 12 hours of being here, one dose of steroids inititially when I came here. At first everyone spoke English, however now nobody does. I ask for help to empty my urine from my bag. Nobody would help. They would just laugh and call me la leche. I finally had to empty my bag on the floor after it was completely full. They didn't clean it for 4 hours. When they did, they only cleaned the part the leaked to the hallway. Nobody will allow me to speak to a supervisor and when I call the hospital it just rings or they transfer me to a rininging phone or dial tone. I've had to call 911 several times. I'm supposed to be moved every two hours. They took an ex-ray and cat scan, after I called the police, the Nurse said the dr ordered an mri. I asked to speak to the dr and the nurse came back and said the Dr said no mri now. I asked why? Now he suddenly doesn't speak English. I asked the drs name and he said he doesn't know the drs name. I'm starving, thirsty, in pain, and all they do is laugh and call me names and said if I want out I should call my family laughing. I'm here with my two daughters and they won't allow minors so my oldest had to stay at the hotel with her. I am not accepting this at all! If anybody wants to sue I believe we have enough evidence for a class action lawsuit. Document and record everything. That's what I'm doing. The police even said just leave. I have an IV in my arm and I cant walk. I don't even have my wheelchair here. I have the names and times I spoke to someone read more

Was in a bad accident in San Juan. Asked to be taken to another hospital that Police recommended. Ambulance refused and took me here. Horrific experience. I was left bleeding for hours. I am on blood thinners and had soaked through so many towels by the time they stitched me up. It was ridiculous! I came back to US to see my primary care Dr. as I was afraid of what I had caught with open gaping wounds in this hospital. everything was nasty, they had to clean the blood pressure cuff before using because my daughter saw how nasty it was and told them hell no!! Go somewhere else if you have a say in where you go!! read more

If i could give this hospital a minus 10 i would. Unless you have lost a limb or are in a life threatening accident do not go there. And the only reason you come here is because you have no choice cause if you do have a choice. CHOOSE to not come here. I understand its a public hospital but there is no excuse. Its a scary place. Go anywhere but here. I think i will have nightmares for the rest of my life about this place. read more

they have very limited resources and is getting worse, they are kind to me cheerful and really doing their best. I admire their stamina.

My Dad was in bad car accident, punctured lung and internal bleeding. They set my Dad in a chair and said will be right back for your bath, 4 hours later returned only to give him a COLD shower, he has a punctured lung and tubes sown into skin due to tubes being pulled out when transported from one hospital to the next. The excuse is short staffed, Hospitals don;t even give patients water!!! Family has to bring in or Purchase from Nurses selling to patients on the low down. It is very sad to see that Medicare Patients being treated in this manner, and the orders are all hand written, leaves much room for error. How can we get help?!!! PR is part of the US!!?? read more

Horrific experience. We waited from 4PM till 2AM to receive treatment for a dislocated finger. Nobody knows what they are doing and they don't seem to care either. Look for another hospital if you find yourself in need of treatment. read more
