It was not until the business day before my appointment, I received an email AND text messages threatening to cancel the appointment due to not submitting my forms, but this was the first request I received to complete the forms. I promptly submitted them and then received multiple more messages about the forms and then it became messages as reminders. Between Friday and Monday, the day of the appointment, I received nine texts and four emails. In the month prior, I received no communication. Now upon arriving, I checked in. I was asked for my insurance card, ID, and credit card. I provided each and once the lady at the reception desk completed everything, she brought me my cards along with paperwork to complete. There was not one mention that I was charged for the visit. I only received an alert from my card company at which time I asked why, let's not even go into detail as to why my card is charged without informing me of the amount. The charge was wrong because my visit should've been 100% covered by insurance. I was informed things were corrected. Now let's get into the actual appointment. I was moved into the patient room. A nurse came to take my vitals and then proceeded to try to escort me to the lab for bloodwork. I questioned why bloodwork ahead of speaking with the doctor as I have other bloodwork I also need captured since I had JUST had bloodwork done. I was informed if I want different bloodwork then I have to make another appointment and come back. When I asked to speak with the doctor first, the nurse came back in the room with someone on a telehealth call to express my issues to before I could speak with the doctor I made an appointment with. I set my appointment as a new patient appointment to establish care and annual wellness. My expectation was to discuss my medical history with the doctor to determine what tests were actually appropriate. I happened to have a few top of mind that I planned to ask about but wasn't given the opportunity because of their lack of care. Needless to say I canceled everything and am baffled at this experience. I have never experienced such terrible service. And as a new patient of this office, I am even more surprised. Save yourself the headache and frustration and just find another doctor office.

Between the lines of first day back and traffic around to school, I was 12 minutes late for my appointment. They promptly told me they wanted to reschedule. I was only there for prescription refills. It would have been a "sit in the office, small talk for a few minutes" apointment... and "here's your prescription refills". I'm on blood pressure medication and just need a refill and they don't care because I didn't call while I was driving through school zones to get to the doctors office. I have a job and kids and they have no problem making me wait for 10 to 15 minutes, but heaven forbid they wait for you for a few minutes. I'll be finding a new doctor that cares.

I told her, I had mentioned on the phone that I'm bringing in my son because I don't have a sitter and she never said anything! I kid you not, I was fuming right on the get go! I told them to cancel my appointment then and I stormed back in my car. Then I realized, I haven't made my point just yet. So, I walked back up to the front door, opened it and pointed at the front desk lady and said "Oh, by the way, YOU'RE NOT WEARING A MASK EITHER!" As a scientist that doesn't believe in the efficacy of masks, I wear them out of respect. BUT, this business just showed me how utterly HYPOCRITICAL they are!!

My response to her was, "Why is she just now telling me at check-in and why didn't anyone call me prior when I've had the appointment booked for over a week." She proceeds to tell me that someone did call me and I was unreachable and they left a voicemail. I explained to her that someone only called to confirm my appointment and never mentioned needing to only select one of the type of appointments booked. As I'm continuing to explain to Eliana, she is over- talking, interrupting me while I'm talking, and making smirking faces. I eventually ask for her name and the name and contact information of her manager. She tries to write down the general email address and phone number to the clinic like I wouldn't be aware. Luckily the manager Aimee was able to come up and speak with me regarding the matter. Aimee was very sweet and apologetic unlike her incompetent and entitled front desk staff. Although, I felt management handled me appropriately, I refused to continue with the appointment. I truly despise of people that work in customer service and lack customer service skills. If you decide to work in a clinic where there are patients who are sick or ill then being able to handle them with care should be your top priority. The front desk at Pearland Physicians would be better office working in a warehouse with boxes and avoiding any customer contact. Under no circumstances will I be returning.

A warm greeting and a little kindness can make a big difference. Instead, the interactions often feel cold and uninviting, which leaves a negative first impression. At that time, I was wiling to see any doctor available and Dr. Christopher Anyakorah was who I scheduled with. He turned out to be a great find. I immediately felt at ease with him. He listens. He gives options. His communication skills and kindness is comforting. I remember telling him about a trip I was taking and months later at a visit he asked about that trip.
