    Beef dip meal

Stopped at Century Downs Derby for lunch mid week . Ordered the Beef Dip meal which came with fries and a tasty beef dip sub type sandwich . Bun was hot and meat was tasty . Came with small au jus too. I just thought that $18 was kinda pricey for dining at casino ... maybe would been nicer for a lunch special at a more cheaper price ...

6oz Prime Rib Dinner @The Derby (Century Downs Casino)
    Ally E.

There is a restaurant located inside the Century Downs Casino called The Derby. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays they have "specials". We found this out by accident. So on Thursday evening, after some shopping at the nearby Cross Irons Mall, we came here for dinner and their special this evening was Prime Rib for $8.99. It's a 6oz that comes with gravy, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, and a Yorkshire pudding plus horse radish. It was delicious!!! Everything on the plate was perfect!!! I'm not one to eat beef especially rare and still any pink to it, and I seldom do, so I requested mine to be "well done" and "tell the chef to burn it and I won't complain". When my plate came, I could see those beautiful criss cross markings on it and it was indeed cooked well done. Although people cringe and say I'm ruining a good meal by requesting my meat to be cooked this way, it by no means ruined it. In fact, it was one of the best prime rib dinners I've had in my life!!! It wasn't at all chewy but still tender to the chew and the sides were a bit charred to give it that slight crispiness and flame broiled taste. The mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, Yorkshire pudding, and gravy were all really good as well. We ordered a side of garlic toast to share and it was also tasty and delicious. There was a bit of a line up to be seated but only ten minutes for us. It seemed like it was a popular night for people to come out and get this deal because the line up was longer by the time we finished and were leaving. Service was exceptional. Friendly servers who were quick in getting drink orders as soon as you were seated, refills on water, checking up on how the food is and so on. For an extremely busy evening this is appreciated. The restaurant is clean and where we sat, it has large windows looking out to the racetrack. After dinner we played some slots and it must've been a lucky night for me because I sat down and played 2 cents slots for only 3 or 4 minutes... and I got the Bonus thingy and won $202.40!!!!!!!!! A delicious prime rib dinner and instant winnings at the slots! What more could a girl ask for on a Thursday evening after a hard day at work?!?!?! Will definitely go back to try other items on the menu and their other specials!!!

    This is a $20 brunch.

My mother brought us here (I say here because I am still here writing my review) for a Fathers Day "brunch" buffet with my 91 year old grandfather. Brunch, they kept calling it. Brunch they said. $20 a head - cash only. We arrive. It's not brunch. It's less than 10 dishes none of which are - OK I'm going to pause this for a second to tell you that as a person with eating things (gluten free, vegetarian) I DO NOT IN ANY WAY expect a gluten free vegetarian buffet. I do, however expect to see some items that are fitting with "brunch" at a brunch this was NOT the case. It was like a luncheon for a board meeting, two meats, green beans a soggy veggie tray and some desserts. I thought, OK I'll have some salad and a cup of coffee and accept that my eating needs aren't typical BUT WE HAD TO PAY $2.50 for a cup of terrible drip coffee. AT A BUFFET THAT WAS $20/person. No water was offered to us. Just a cash bar with an unhappy bartender and expensive beer. $7 for a grasshopper for my Papa. So, I went down stairs to the grill where they have "All day breakfast" according to their menu - which is not true! That's their OLD menu. I just wanted some god damn eggs. And then out of the heavens arrived Pam who is currently hooking me up with two scrambled eggs that she convinced the cook to make. Pam is a real champ. She's a good manager and I truly felt for her and everyone working at this godforsaken place. As I'm writing this I know that I sound like an insanely entitled yuppie, who is sad for missing her eggs Benedict, but really what I am is a customer who is pissed at false advertising and LITERAL HIGHWAY ROBBERY (it's at Cross Iron Mills) 20/head for a brunch that ain't a brunch, with no coffee, no too sweet orange juice, no tap water in a plastic cup. Just warm bottles of pop and cans of beer. Don't advertise something you're not doing. Don't take advantage of people looking to celebrate Father's Day with a brunch. I have included the photo of the brunch I paid $20 for. Mmmmm. OH MY GOD IM ADDING MORE: My mother went on to order nachos one hour ago. I am still waiting to pick them up from the bar to carry upstairs (because you know, that's normal) and I have been standing here since. The last I heard on the case of the missing nachos is they "aren't up, maybe they didn't get punched in" ... This place is majorly understaffed I get it. It's busy, but holy cow. One hour for some pub nachos!? If you can't handle a rush don't call yourself a "grill" just have a vending machine with chips.

Not sure what's going on with the negative reviews…read more I feel like there is some expectation management for this restaurant inside ace casino. Got a late arrival in YYC? Staying near the airport? This is one of the best options for food after 10pm. Their daily specials are also a great deal. "BUFFET" ok it's not a buffet as you might expect, the special buffet nights feature a lunch line style setup where you get a meal, but you do get your food fast. Prime Rib (Tuesday) - The beef is great, salad is decent, veg is good, price is unbeatable. Usually dessert is a donut but last time it was a tart, hopefully this remains the dessert option. Fish and Chips (Wednesday) - It's a decent plate, chips include fries and wedges. While decent I would skip as "wing Wednesday" is offered at most restaurants in the surrounding area. Asian night (Thursday) - I really enjoyed the noodles, rice was fine, very large portion with multiple protein options. Overall this place has a big menu for late night food, even their limited late night menu has plenty to offer. The value is top notch as prices are low and portions are decent. Fountain drinks are free so add that cost savings if you're not drinking alcohol. If you're staying at a nearby hotel then the convenience is also amazing. 2 min walk or drive. I come here at least once every time I fly into YYC

WARNING: Hidden Damage, Misrepresentation, and a $30,000 Loss…read moreWe purchased a CanDream Inc's used motorhome from ArrKann RV (Rocky View) after being assured by Eva Moser and Brock Simmons that it was "like brand new," fully inspected, and in excellent condition. That was not true. On pickup -- after driving 800 km -- we found multiple obvious issues: torn mattress, missing parts, cracked and unsafe tires, leaking hot water tank, dead TV, electrical problems, and a large stain above the driver's seat that staff called "soap residue." This stain was later proven to be long-term water damage. Months later we were accidentally given CanaDream Inc's internal service history, which ArrKann RV never disclosed. It showed repeated roof leaks and repairs in the exact areas we questioned on day one. None of this was disclosed before the sale. The tires were especially alarming. Despite "passing" an Alberta inspection, they were cracked deep into the tread. Neither ArrKann Rv nor CanaDream Inc. could explain how the inspection signed off on them. We still never received a clear answer. What followed were repeated 860 km trips for repairs -- all at our own cost -- with the motorhome sitting unusable for months while leaks continued. Repairs were delayed, incomplete, or undocumented. We were denied copies of repair records because ArrKann RV and CanaDream Inc. claimed everything was handled through their "internal agreement." ICBC later informed us the motorhome was still registered to CanaDream, meaning ArrKann sold it before it was even properly transferred. After 14 months, when we tried to trade the unit in, an independent dealer found major structural roof damage and hidden repair work that made the unit worth far less. We lost over $30,000 because of undisclosed issues. Stay way from thesis dealerships if you want truth and honesty, you will only be deceived!

The hot food stand apparently couldn't take the poutine order and I had to order it at the concession. I got all my stuff and walked over to the hot food stand. I always order half the fries and double the gravy so I told him that. I watched him spend thirty mins getting a woman salsa for her nachos. He looked all around the kitchen and then stood and talked to her. I asked if he could get my poutine if he was going to chat. He told me he had to finish her order and went through a door into the back and didn't come out for ten mins. He came out with nothing and starting talking to her again. I asked him to please make my poutine since he had been gone ten mins. He looked at me and then called over a person and asked them where the side salsa was. The guy told him where to look and saw me put my hands up and looking pissed. He asked if he could help by making something. Of course the guy said nope and he went away. I was reaching irate as it was fifteen mins till my movie. He went over to concession and chatted then bent down and opened a tiny fridge and took out salsa. He came back over and gave it to her and she says " what about the sour cream". I sighed looked at both of them and said " seriously.....seriously.. I've been extremely patient and polite about this whole thing but I ordered my poutine over 30 mins ago and I want to get a seat and I like to sit somewhere specific but more importantly you don't make someone wait this long. please make my poutine and then you two and talk about whatever you want......please!" They both snickered at me and he went over and got her sour cream. Now this whole time a basket of cooked fries had been sitting above the frier. He came back and put that basket down. I waiting thinking those can't be for me that's fireable and dangerous. He pours out the basket fills the poutine container FULL of fries and then puts gravy in it. This is not what I wanted but my movie has started. I picked up the overflowing and piggy mess poutine. The gravy poured onto my fingers as I walked away. I've had this happen many times no its hot but bearable. This gravy was too hot. I couldn't see that when he set it down because I'm five feet tall and the counter is almost higher than me. I had to wait to set it down so I didn't freak and spill it all over myself. I set it on the condiment counter and wiped off my finger. The pain was bad. I added ketchup to my fries and went for the movie that had already started. Luckily the ten mins of stupid commercials were playing so I was ok. My seat was taken but they were assigned seats and I was in a mood so I was fine telling them. My finger was not getting better and I couldn't watch the movie. I had to leave all my food and ask the couple I made move watch it which I've never done. I ran out and told them I needed an ice pack or burn gel. Of course they called a manager and he made me explain it. I told him I could tell him all about it later but I was there for a movie not to explain shitty service. I missed all the previews and the beginning of the movie while they got me ice and some burn gel. I had a hard time enjoying the movie because I had to keep icing my hand. It didn't calm down till almost the end of the movie. When I came out I had to go find a manager and tell them about it. The previous manager hadn't written down the incident which they are required and if it weren't for the burn gel and cinema bag full of melting ice I had she said she wouldn't have believed me. They took my name and all my info and said they'd look into it. I was very concerned that a child might get burned. The manager said gravy is supposed to be hot and I got annoyed again. It's not supposed to cause your skin to blister. I cook all the time and I've never served a person food so hot your skin blisters because it would cause your mouth to burn and blister as well. On top of this you can't taste the subtle flavours in food if it's too hot. It was a lame excuse and the manager I'm sure knew it. If I had been them I would have given me a movie pass and some free concession passes because my ordeal was horrible and I paid to be treated like that. They didn't offer it with an apology they asked me if I was looking for something free like passes then. Of course if you say it like that I'm going to say No. I wasn't looking for free stuff I was looking for them to make up for burning me and getting horrible service. I gave them my name and number and expected someone to call but I guess It was my fault it took over 45 mins to get a poutine and get attitude with that service and my fault the gravy was so hot that if I had eaten a piece instead of getting burned on my hand that my mouth would be severely burned. If I had swallowed I would have needed an ambulance. Get a grip!

Sure, I almost ALWAYS fall asleep, always sneak in my own snacks, and always show up late and miss the previews...I do enjoy going to the movies. When I am dying to see something in theatres, this is my theatre of choice. It's a bit farther than I'd like, but it's worth it once you get there. The arcade alone is super cool - on the rare occasion we actually get there early, I always enjoy playing the games and winning some tickets, even though you never use them for anything. I've also had the opportunity to try the lounge and it's surprisingly decent! Expensive of course, but the drinks and the wings were actually really good. It's a nice addition when you're hungry before a movie or want to enjoy a drink or two. Now for the actual theatre. When it's busy, the line for concession takes FOREVER. And there are 12 year olds working the tills who don't know how to answer a simple question. But I'm not going there for the food (like I said, I usually sneak my own snacks in) so I don't care. I buy my $25 drink and head into the theatre. This past weekend, we went to see The Avengers in the Ultra AVX/3D theatre, which I had never experienced before. I liked the fact we were able to pick our own seats - huge plus. However it was quite a bit more expensive, around $17 each. The seats themselves were SUPER comfortable...tons of leg room and the ability to lean back. The screen was large, sound was great, and even in the regular theatres you basically get the same thing except the ability to choose your seats. But, what do ya know, I totally fell asleep (that movie is super long!). I really like how the bathrooms are located past the ticket-ripping-dude (?), so no need to bring yours with you if you go mid-movie. My point is, this is the best theatre in town (in my opinion), and if you're in the north end of the city I highly suggest seeing your next movie here. Awesome experience!

Here's a polished and professional rewrite of your review/complaint:…read more I purchased a used 2019 Rockwood Lite trailer and picked it up on May 1. Shortly after taking possession, I notified Parker, the salesperson, that the fridge was going into "check" mode when plugged into shore power and also when running on propane. The trailer was also tripping the breaker at my house. Parker and I agreed that I would take the trailer camping over the May long weekend and then return it afterward for repairs. The service department was very helpful. They replaced a part on the fridge and advised me that it was working properly. I brought the trailer home, plugged it in, and everything initially seemed fine. The following day, I checked on the trailer and found the fridge had gone back into "check" mode and was sounding the alarm. I switched the fridge to propane while leaving the trailer plugged in, but the same issue continued and the alarm kept sounding. I contacted the service department and let them hear the noise over the phone. Another service appointment was scheduled, and I continued using the trailer. During this time, I unplugged the trailer from the power and operated it on battery power with the fridge running on propane. Under those conditions, the fridge worked perfectly. When I returned the trailer for service, I explained that the fridge operated properly on propane when the trailer was not plugged in, but consistently went into "check" mode and sounded the alarm whenever shore power was connected. Today, I received a call from the service department informing me that the refrigerator control board needed to be replaced. The manager stated that this was a different problem than the one previously repaired and that I would be responsible for up to $500 in repair costs. Unfortunately, this is not the first issue I have had with management. When I purchased the trailer for $34,000, the front window was cracked and needed replacement. The manager had the salesperson ask whether I would pay the additional $1,400 required for the repair. When I became upset and indicated that I wanted to cancel the entire purchase, the manager suddenly changed his position and claimed it had all been a misunderstanding. Would I purchase another RV from this dealer? Absolutely not. I would strongly recommend that others look elsewhere. In my opinion, this trailer had not been properly serviced before it was sold. It was not even properly cleaned. I found a baby bottle nipple in the bed area, and the outside kitchen was quite dirty. To be fair, the service department has been very good to deal with and has tried to help. My concerns are with the overall management of the dealership, which has been disappointing. Service Department: Very Good Management: Not Recommended This version keeps the facts and frustration intact while making it clearer, more professional, and more persuasive if you're posting it as a public review or submitting it as a formal complaint.

We were there for a total of four hours just to do three races for one person. I understand that they separate the races by skill and they wouldn't put a beginner (my younger brother) with skilled racers. There needs to be a better way though. They have two vending machines, a couple of arcade games, that's it. There's also nothing around the area to do except for the Rec Room. My brother really enjoyed racing, but the wait was just too long and the races too pricey. I'm assuming if you are coming in as a group the wait will go by faster. I would recommend making a reservation for this place and bringing something to do (cards, Nintendo Switch, etc) while you 're waiting, because you will be doing a lot of it.
