WARNING: Hidden Damage, Misrepresentation, and a $30,000 Loss We purchased a CanDream Inc's used motorhome from ArrKann RV (Rocky View) after being assured by Eva Moser and Brock Simmons that it was "like brand new," fully inspected, and in excellent condition. That was not true. On pickup -- after driving 800 km -- we found multiple obvious issues: torn mattress, missing parts, cracked and unsafe tires, leaking hot water tank, dead TV, electrical problems, and a large stain above the driver's seat that staff called "soap residue." This stain was later proven to be long-term water damage. Months later we were accidentally given CanaDream Inc's internal service history, which ArrKann RV never disclosed. It showed repeated roof leaks and repairs in the exact areas we questioned on day one. None of this was disclosed before the sale. The tires were especially alarming. Despite "passing" an Alberta inspection, they were cracked deep into the tread. Neither ArrKann Rv nor CanaDream Inc. could explain how the inspection signed off on them. We still never received a clear answer. What followed were repeated 860 km trips for repairs -- all at our own cost -- with the motorhome sitting unusable for months while leaks continued. Repairs were delayed, incomplete, or undocumented. We were denied copies of repair records because ArrKann RV and CanaDream Inc. claimed everything was handled through their "internal agreement." ICBC later informed us the motorhome was still registered to CanaDream, meaning ArrKann sold it before it was even properly transferred. After 14 months, when we tried to trade the unit in, an independent dealer found major structural roof damage and hidden repair work that made the unit worth far less. We lost over $30,000 because of undisclosed issues. Stay way from thesis dealerships if you want truth and honesty, you will only be deceived! read more

Wonderful experience all around! Great price, new vehicle (Midi fit 2 adults and 3 kids), easy to drive, refrigerator was pre-chilled so groceries could immediately be put in, kitchen and linen kits were all in good/new condition. No issues taking it from Calgary to Glacier (USA) and up to Banff. Pick up and return was easy and they answered all our questions before leaving the lot. read more

It was a great experience ! This was out first time renting an RV as a family and a dog ! The slide out gave us all enough space for a cozy dinner during a snowy evening. The heaters keep the Motorhome so warm, that there is no problem with the cold at night and automatically adjust ! It is equipped with EVERYTHING you will need ! Very depressing to be charged $1500 for a 'scratch' on a side solar screen that this company claims needs to be substituted entirely and BSing about the why. In fact it's all about 'resell' value and $$$$$. I strongly recommend against this company, unless you're willing to hand out lots of dough for additional miles, scratches and other things you didn't think of. Renting an RV in Canada can be a wonderful experience, but this company destroyed the experience entirely. My only complaint is that the pick up procedure takes a long time - about two hours. The staff are friendly and thorough, and they carefully explain how everything works and answer any questions. We got the vehicle with 5/8 of a tank, which was a bit of a pain because bringing it back to that level exactly for return was a bit of a guessing game at the pump - I would prefer to get the vehicle with a full tank of gas. We had the midi B as a family of 4 (two teenagers), and had plenty of storage and room to move around. The beds above the driving cabin were plenty large and comfortable. Interior was very clean, beds are super comfortable (even for my husband who is 6'2"). Stove, oven and microwave all work. Note that electrical outlets and microwave will only work if you are hooked up to electrical power or using the generator (i.e. they don't run off the battery). In terms of the hook ups, I suggest that you wait until the tanks are nearly full, then flush them through, as the momentum of gravity and a full tank allow for better flow. Staying hooked up can also be a bit smelly. We have rented twice and have never had to empty the toilet tank (we use public facilities as much as possible during the day). No bad smells in the cabin from the tank. We had the convenience kits - found the sheets itchy so swapped them out for our own before we left. Also - just enough silverware for each person, so keeping up with washing was a must, and using utensils for cooking (like a fork or spoon) means washing or rinsing it before using it to eat dinner - not a huge deal, but I would prefer more flexibility. If you are local, it would probably be worth bringing your own dishes etc as the ones they have are breakable - we prefer the metal/hard plastic versions for camping (and driving between sites you don;t have to be as careful packing the cupboards!). read more

CanaDream provides fantastic service, super clean and conditioned vehicles and a great end-to-end experience. It really is as good as it gets. We had something to compare to since we rented last year from the same location (Calgary) from Cruise Canada, which was quite the opposite - rude and embarrassing service, old smelly vehicles, sad experience overall. CanaDream shines even from the online booking stage. We were contacted by a rep who offered to help make various decisions and made useful recommendations. Pick up was earlier than the time advertised. A rep walked us through the contract and car. Car was sparkling clean, low mileage. Nothing more we could ask for -- except for the company to add pick up locations all over, so we don't need to ever look for anyone else :) read more

Far to many hidden fees. We were 1/4 tank light on gas and they charged us $70 dollars. The insurance is a joke, they charge you additional fees to protect the windshield etc. they over charge you, they are not helpful at all. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Definitely select a different rental company. read more

The RV We rent an RV at Canadream (ROF2) and get the type DVC, it is a bus and everything is very "petit" but that is the deal with ROF2 (tip: take bags instead of suitcases, storage space is not availible), you don't know which type RV you get untill pick-up, next time we will go for ROF4 ;). overall 4 stars, for us 3 stars The pick-up in Whitehorse Pick-up at 14:00 pm (in our opinion a little bit late, but we know that before arrival). Pick-up was nice and friendly, also the welcome at the office was nice and friendly and everything goes (one point of disappointment, no coffee or tea!), overall very satisfied, 4 stars! The drop-off in Vancouver Very quick and very friendly (only the lady at the frontdesk had a bad day I think ;)), from checking to finish the contract. Because the free shuttle was full with guest who had to go to the airport we get a free taxi to our hotel in Richmond, TOP service CANADREAM!!! and the coffee and tea where lovely! Overall 5+ stars. Conclusion: We have rent several times an RV in Canada and the USA and Canadream is definitely one of our best experience, the quality of the RV good (brand new 24000 km), friendly pick-up and very friendly drop-off. We rented from the Whitehorse office. Staff were excellent - very helpful and friendly. All of their vehicles appeared to be immaculate. We rented a Ford F350 with a camper. It was well suited to a couple and teenager (our situation). The extra bed (the table can be removed to make a bed) was comfortable but would be too short for most adults. The main bed is very comfortable and fits a couple, including a 6 foot tall person well. The restroom and shower are cramped but functional. Our truck was a diesel and averaged 17L/100km - thirsty but not bad for the weight and profile of the vehicle. The cost of the rental was certainly limiting and would prevent many people from doing this trip. 3.5 weeks cost us about CND$7000. A few things were annoying and would be easy for the company to deal with. 1. The vehicle was delivered to us with 3/8 of a tank of fuel and we had to return it that way. Just fill it please and once full, everyone will return it that way. 2. Prepaying for km was a nightmare. We selected 4100km. If you go high it is a waste of money. If you go low as we did it costs 0.35 per km (another $550 in our case). Unlimited km would be much better for budgeting even if the average cost of rental goes up a bit. 3. The added platinum insurance package was useful but should also be part of a standard package. 4. We paid for a package that included bedding and cooking gear. This should also be included. Too many choices and add-ons made us feel like we were begin nickelled and dimed. All this being said, there were no surprises upon return of the vehicle. We had a cracked windshield and there was no issue. The screen door had a broken plastic handle that we had to pay for ($45 - expected since we broke it but there is a design issue here and I suspect they are regularly broken and should be replaced with metal handles if possible). My only other suggestion would be longer hours for pickup and return. We paid for late delivery (another case of being nickelled and dimed). That allowed a 3pm return. Pickup was 10am. Lack of flexibility on pickup and return means a lost half day or more at each end of the trip (depending on your flight times) and the likely necessity of a hotel booking in town. It takes a couple of hours to pickup and return the vehicle. This is not a problem as it takes a while to learn about the vehicle and store all of your belongings (and repack them at the end of the trip). The company stored our suitcases which was great.
