I am not one to write reviews but I will write one for this sheriff station. I never understood why we have the sheriffs department if they NEVER come when we call them. But to make matters worse their officers are incompetent! WHAT OFFICIER THINKS ITS A GREAT IDEA TO TALK TO A CIVILIAN ABOUT AN ANONYMOUS PHONE CALL!! Went up to a fellow resident to get a report when he called it in anonymous, like what were you thinking! That was once of the TWO times they came when we have called multiple times. We have called to get dangerous homeless people of our residential street but they seem not to care. We live about 200 feet from a school, shouldn't they move them from here! For the safety of our residents and children! I do want to say thank you to that one officer that helped move ONE individual that was trying to move in right next to neighbors gate (which would block them). So everyone knows when you get into a vehicle accident there's no report made unless it's you're hurt so now people have to lie to actually get a report sad (fender benders are not reported) so don't bother calling the police. I had to wait in line over an hour to find this out. The station is dark scary one person in the front and to give this answer back now i see why people don't respect police station there is graffiti right in front on wall. This station and its officers have gone above and beyond to help my family when three people broke into my fathers home in Walnut Park. The burglars stole three vehicles, everything they could carry and then were loading antique furniture into a mini van when they were caught. My father was in the hospital when the burglary occurred. The officers were so professional, courteous and sympathetic to the horrible situation. They helped in everyway they could. And I have been in contact with this station for a year since the burglary happened. The only negative is sometimes the dispatchers are a little rude. But I can only imagine what they go through on a day to day basis. Overall I believe this station is doing a great job. Thank you for all you do! read more

One star for the Sheriff Station. Ironic?? I think not. Let me commence at the beginning.... You all may be in my place at one point in your life... i'm about to school you. (1) 5:27AM received an early morning call from (713) 981-0098 Houston,Texas number This is a free collect call...interesting right, well I missed it so a message with only the name of the person a.k.a detainee and the place where they are detained. In this case it was "Century Regent Detention Center". The person is a friend so yes i'm going to help. Well I googled and Yelped the place and Yelp seemed more accurate based on my location....I did google map the place....on Alameda St near Lynwood, CA. Because I missed the call, i called the number listed for the Century Regent station. (2) 323-568-4500 is the Detention Center but the kind officer on the telephone offered to look up the detainee with the name and birthdate, this is to provide a booking number. The the officer transferred me to what they said is "the station" GREAT CLUE! (3) I get another call from the 713 number at 7:37AM - missed it!! ugh... i swear it goes directly to voicemai (4) Another call at 7:47AM and I was able to "catch it"- my friend says to please call work and advise of them being sick and unable to make it....and also that they will be released in about 6 hours from 5AM (5) I e-mail work that I will be coming in a little late (6) I start figuring out where I'm going to pick up the person...remember "THE CLUE"? ok well is it the detention center on google map or is is the adjacent sheriff station...mmmm well I am about to go find out (7) 9:30AM I arrive at the destination via the 10 E to 110 S to 105 E and exited Wilmington...i took the wrong turn by not going Imperial Hwy east so now i circle back to 114th ST to Mona St..through the Watts projects...no biggie....my mini cooper will protect me....boohoo (8) I get to Alameda St and Imperial Hwy and I scope out the scene.. do i go to the detention center or where is this sheriff station?? hmmmm ok there is an entrance but says you pay for parking..SAY WHAAA? (9) I determine i don't want to park in the Watts Project Housing because it's too far....so I enter the parking lot and take a ticket...$4 flat rate the sign says..automated facility..no cashier on duty...sign says.... then I see a parking attendant and ask if this is the sheriff station so it was confirmed. To the left side is the station. (10) I enter the building that says sheriff station not the one that says "Compton Court" hmmm what is this place? a jail, a sheriff station, and a court?? (11) I don't see anyone on the other side of the counter so i'm weirded out...i do see a hispanic couple sitting around and another one perched in one corner of the counter...it's an L shaped counter.... (12) 10 minutes go by...another 10 minutes go by .....everything stays the same (13) I look around...there is a cashier's window to the far right and then there is stairs to go below for "visitation" ...I'm perplexed, am I here to visit? I use my better judgement with a gentle reminder from my little red devil on my shoulder saying " do you know all the contents in your purse..is everything legal"? no comment. (14) I stay in place..taking pics for Yelp...so then an officer comes out and is giving info to the couple on the counter.... another officer comes out of another weird door and gives info to the couple sitting down...an older lady walks in and gets in line behind a red tape on the floor...damn i missed the line!! (15) lucky she asks me if anyone is in line and I say yes I am...and the woman sitting down who already has information says to me " We are here too" in broken english...but damn I just saw you get your damn info from another officer..you are in both lines lady? i think that but I don't say it.... I don't want to end up behind the double doors as a detainee. (16) I get behind the red tape in front of the older lady and say in my perma bitch face with condescending tone " oh well i didnt see you standing there" as her fat ass was lounging in the cement ottoman bench (17) after another 20 minutes of waiting and small talk with the older lady I finally get my turn with the one star officer in charge of information... I ask about my detainee acquaintance....his response? Oh sorry to have you waiting all this time but that telephone there in that pole is used to get info regarding detainees that were just booked (18) Good to know 45 minutes later!!!! so I look behind the pillar and lord behold underneath a thuggish wall of graffiti there is a telephone managed by "cisco systems" with sharpie "4590" on it. (19) Officer Wienger picks up and after I give her a booking number she tells me the person will be released as soon as "release papers are signed by a supervisor" hmmmm i think 6 hours is 11AM right it's about 10:20 now.... This station services my community and I was very disappointed with their service. I called all night long to have them come and quiet a party with Banda that went on until 4:00am. Every time I called they had one excused after another as to why they couldn't come. It's 4:00 in the am I don't think I'm being unreasonable In asking the sheriff's department to service their community. Now I understand the tension between the community and our sheriff department. You are here to service your community. When the people you are suppose to serve and protect are being dismiss by the sheriff department I can't help but to lose faith. I live in this neighborhood where people are apprehensive to call the police as it is. I have always believed that sharing an open line of communication between the neighborhood and the police is beneficial for everyone. With that said I called in at close to 3 am because someone in an RV was being hostile towards me when I actually live on this street and was getting home. Mind you, I was getting home from a late night and didn't even drink. So anyway I called the sheriffs dept and Officer Richardson wanted me to explain what the guy said that meant he wanted to fight. He also said that wasn't good enough in his eyes to mean they want to fight. Then he suggested that the RV was the neighborhood watch. Ridiculous.... All I asked for is for them to send a car to do a routine drive around and ensure nothing illegal was happening. Keeping the neighborhood safe. my block is being overrun by RV's who throw trash and fecal matter onto the street. On top of that when we call they say we can't do anything about it. Ok that's fine. These officers seriously kick @$$. Let's chat about my ordeal just this past Monday. On Monday morning I walked out to my apartment carport to drive to work, when lo and bedhold, my car was GONE. I was horrified. I live in a safe area in West LA and was blown away and devastated because all of my equipment for my massage therapy practice was inside my car, and it was all just gone. I went to the Culver City PD and filed a report, but they were too busy cracking jokes back and forth to eachother to really appreciate what I was going through. Fast forward 12 hours and I am still trying to digest that all of my equipment is gone, when I receive a phone call from this police department telling me they have located my car!!! I was stunned. They pulled him over and he took off on foot and the officer who contacted me let me know the other officers were pursuing him on foot as we spoke. I was blown away by how fast and efficient they were. They stayed with my car until I arrived, and we all had a hearty laugh when we discovered the thief had already made himself at home and put up red, Las Vegas, fuzzy dice in the rearview mirror. These men were amazing and stayed later than they had to in order for me to get down there so that my car wouldn't be impounded for the night. I am eternally grateful for this department. Nothing but a bunch of bad cops i have been stopped 3 times for the same thing walking on my street. They always say the same thing that they got a call of some one walking with a gun and i fit the subject now every time they stop ne and search me guess what no gun but nope thats not good enough for them they then proceed to go and tell my neighbors about whats going on and now i am getting dirty looks fornm them i was being held i the back of the cop car and the cop ask me for my ID i tell him i don't have it on me so he ask for my name and date of birth i tell him that California is not a stop and ID state to which he tells me if i don't give it to him i will be arrested for failing to ID. read more

It's been a year since I went to this station to report False imprisonment, holding someone against your will. I haven't wrote a review because it's taken this long for me to be in a better state and I'm still going to therapy for this incident. Deputy Corcoran/Jauch, wrote my report, didn't correctly document the information I gave him. I had to report to DCFS on my own to let them know there was physical abuse happening to children at the same time I was assaulted. LAPD responded a week later after DCFS took the children away. When I went to my perpetrator's residence with officers I asked him if he could question a neighbor that witnessed me running away and asked for a phone to call the police but he had an attitude and refused. Detective Adrian Decasas SHOULD NOT be a detective for domestic violence! I spoke to him a few times and he didn't sound like he cared nor did he try to gather evidence unless I initiated it. When I told him that there was domestic violence happening before that incident and he used an example that just because I got hit in the past doesn't mean anything if I say it now. I left a message for the supervisor of detectives and never got a response. This station and some of it's officers are the reason why people don't trust police. I thought I would at least get help from people who are paid to protect those who are in need and vulnerable but I didn't get that from this station, "protect and serve." I understand people are assholes to the police to but you need to remember why you chose this job and treat every person case by case. read more

This has to be one of the finest Sheriff stations in all of L.A. county, there is great leadership, fine work ethics and circle of equality that unite all of the Officers in this facility. Yes they are rough but they have to be for our safety and well bieng of our and neighboring cities. I spent a great amount of my child and teenage life working side by side with other teenagers, adults and officers working and helping for the greater good of L.A. County. this is the worst service i have dealt with. i have never been in trouble with the law or every came across even for parking ticket, my husband used to always tell me the sheriffs harass him and i would say things like well what are you doing late at night up , what are you doing to get them mad, you must be doing something. that when i lived in west covina and then i came here in 2017 city of huntington park. now i have never believed my husband, but until i was dragged out of my house pregnant at 3am with no warrant and threatened to be pushed down by the 3 male sheriffs it when it all started. this is what i have witnessed and video taped every incident and have a ledger of every sheriff deputy i have encounter with badge number and as well the involving squad unit car number used at the time of the occurrence and any other supervisor or watch commander and chief involved. since 2017 i and i am not joking or exaggerating , i have either gotten my car towed, ticketed, harassed by sheriffs, threatened, beaten, detained illegally and told they would plant things just to arrest my husband, this has happened every month. i have ben hit by the deputies and called to make an aggravated assault by deputy and told i cannot, i ve tried to make a complaint phone verbal and in writing and in video that i recorded they refused to take my complaint they said it because the chief disregarded all my other complaints i will no longer be able to submit complaints, different occasion i will list what the have done to me all for being a witnessed and because they simply despise my husband.. 1. they hit me and no repercussions 2. they threatened to break my phone for recording. 3. they have slammed the door on my face and arm. 4 illegally detained me for telling them to leave for no warrant. 5. they illegally enter my car without my permission or presence. 6. towed my car in just 1 month about 5 times and that not including since 2017 7. they have came into my house saying they have a warrant to search and make our grandpa sign a paper who does not know english while im in the back of a patrol car. 8. falsified drug charge which got dismissed because the person who arrested him was caught on video planting crack cocaine in a room. 9. threatened to be thrown in jail for mentioning to file a complaint and then told well then i could throw you in to jail for hitting my deputy when i tod him i have everything recorded they back off. i have had to install cameras in our bedrooms and in our car and placed a lock on our gate and cameras facing the street. we have had to figure out a way if we are to be outside we need to lock the gate and throw the keys over so they wont go in like last time used our keys. internal affairs and headquarters wont do a dam thing or the board of supervisors, which is why i filed claim for damages,.. today they arrested my husband for no id on him while we were outside working on our car,,, tell me how in the world are they allowed to have authority and not follow policy and procedures or state law ... this place is disgusting.. read more

Such a shame that my first encounter with the police had to be such a bad one, very unprofessional, instead of helpinng they escalate the situation, i call to report some idiots yelling, loud music, burning tire, blocking dirveways, littering, when the officer gets there i explain to him what is going on since they took 25 minutes to get there and the some of the idiots were gone. I got my package stolen fr the front steps of my home. Luckily I have a camera and was able to see the thief's. I contacted the station to file a report, since it's the holidays they should see the people that got caught on camera and maybe monitor these streets more. (The 5 hour video shows NO COP drive by). I called and a male answered and said "well you may need to contact amazon but us going isn't going to do much because that won't stop people from stealing"! Are you kidding me? These people get paid to protect and serve and they aren't doing much of either. Crime and theft are at a high right now due to the holidays, and this kid wants to say something so unprofessional to me? I have to agree with Yanely L. Their response time to complaints can sometimes be ridiculous. I realize that there may be more pressing matters at hand at the time of the complaint, but showing up hours later seems pointless. By then the matter would have resolved itself, likely in an irrational and discordant manner. For the most part people in the area are pretty tolerant and willing to allow behavior that they might not necessarily agree on i.e. loud music into the early morning, reckless driving, suspicious characters, mischief and usually do not call and complain about such petty behavior. So when someone does call to make a complaint, it is likely because it is a constant and plaguing issue that they do not know how to handle appropriately or because their efforts in resolving it on their own have been to no avail. We contact the proper authorities because we want to resolve our matters in a proper and civilized manner, but when we see that our efforts to do so accomplish nothing, we tend to take matters into our own hands. This can ultimately lead to the very verbal and/or physical altercations we wanted to avoid by contacting the sheriff's department. When people call and complain it's not to be annoying or because we hate our neighbors for having a party and not sending an invite. We call because we believe that the sheriff's department will resolve our issue in a peaceful, professional, and just manner. read more
