Came here on our last night in Lisbon to enjoy a few last caipirinhas with a view, and this place did not disappoint. We were served pretty much immediately after taking a look at the extensive bar menu and picking our poison. I went with the black caipirinha, my partner stuck to the traditional one. We walked around the back to access the upstairs patio which was relatively empty when we first got there, but filled up considerably as the night went on. You can see the top of the castle lit up at night from the rooftop patio as well as lots of the city, which is really a sight to see. Our drinks were strong and well made. Definitely stop by at some point during your trip to Lisbon!

This place was down the street and had no reviews, but it was raining and we took a chance. And yeah, glad we did - as we came in, it was a small place and empty. We were told they only had pizza - but what pizza! Ultimately, the music was a cool kind of local upbeat ska, the pizzas were the best I've have anywhere in the world in a while, and the beer was lovely. Highly recommend!!

We presumed Principe Real is Lisbon's mellower gayborhood. Embedded in an affluent residential area, this is where we headed after a full day in Belem. Despite some navigational challenges, this bar was our first stop. If you happen to gravitate toward the bulkier, more hirsute members of your brethren, this is the low-key bar for you. Initially we were confused by the smattering of straight couples hanging in the front patio, but when we entered, the gay element was much more prominent. Groups of gregarious men in tanktops were at the various hi-top tables. Lonelier bears hung out at the smallish counter. It wasn't that crowded even though it was a balmy night. There was about a hundred people inside singing along, and another hundred outside watching from the window. At one point the power went out and everyone just continued singing without skipping a beat. It was seriously one of my favorite nights in Portugal, and I'm pretty sure it was just a Tuesday.

However, we eventually grew tired of this and wanted to enjoy a cocktail or two with the locals. After doing some shopping, we stumbled upon The Bar. Unlike some of the other bars, The Bar does not have outdoor seating. Therefore, you have to keep your eyes peeled for the entrance. Upon entering the dimly lit intimate bar, we were warmly greeted by a bartender named Joao. We took in the romantic ambiance (they have a Louis Vuitton Virgil Abloh collector's book!) as we found seating on one of their cozy + comfy couches. My wife ordered the Porn Star Martini (you gotta love an establishment that has a little fun with the name of their drinks) and I ordered the Long Island Iced Tea (this used to be my go-to back in my clubbing days). I knew the drinks would be delicious when I saw Joao carefully crafting the drinks as if he was bathing a newborn. Six minutes later we were sipping on our delectable drinks. In fact, the drinks were so delectable that we slowly sipped them to not finish them too quickly. We made repeated visits to The Bar during our stay in Lisbon, specifically for their Happy Hour that takes place from 5pm to 8pm. With the exception of the signature cocktails, all cocktails are $7 during Happy Hour. If you're looking to consume an adult beverage in a comfortable, cozy, and non-touristy environment...I highly recommend The Bar!

Our server informed us they close at 11 but still served us at 11:10, we apologized but he insisted we stay. This was the main reason I am going with 5 stars. This server was very kind and brought us our drink that we drank rather fast so that he could get home as soon as possible. Both of our drinks were expertly made and the ambiance only added to the experience.
