Without getting into it, I had no idea how we were going to get out of the situation. I went to Sherwin Williams in Rock Hill, and showed them the over 200 photos we had taken of the previous work. Even they were shocked. I told them we were at a loss and didn't know what to do. They confidently handed me a business card saying, "this guy can fix it." The business card was for William at Reliable Eagle. I called William, and he met me at our house the same day. I could tell he was shocked at how bad the paint job was. Before leaving the house he told me that he was confident he could sand everything back down, fix the imperfections, and give us an amazing paint finish. I was nervous to say the least after having such a bad experience with the last painter. I trust the folks over at SW so I decided to just take the leap and pay the deposit to Reliable Eagle. Then we waited about a week and a half for his crew to start. The anticipation was killing me! The day his crew showed up, it was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. While some gentlemen were expertly masking the house William was going over the walls and trim with bright lights alongside his foreman. I know enough Spanish to know he was telling them it needed to be perfect. I came back at the end of the day, and saw they had literally done over 100 small drywall repairs, and sanded the walls all the way down. All my floors were covered, cabinets protected, and the taping was perfect. The second day they had used wood filler on all the trim, and literally fixed every imperfection. The next day everything was sanded down completely. I could not believe my eyes. It was truly next level prep work. Today their crew wrapped up painting, and I still cannot believe how amazing the work is. It truly is the kind of work you expect in a custom home. I cannot tell you how much of my stress is gone. I immediately called Sherwin Williams to let them know how great the work was. If you are looking to hire a painting company, I highly recommend you call William. Anyone can put paint on a wall, but not everyone can do such amazing prep work that it feels like the house was literally remodeled. In short: William owns the best painting company I have ever seen. For the reviews that discuss quotes and didn't select them, the cheap comes out expensive. I would expect most painters to have similar quotes and recommend getting 2 or 3 but paying a bit more for a great job done quickly, that's a no brainer to me. fyi; NEVER accept the cheapest quote and there's a subtle art to a contract negotiation. Don't play games and say what your budget is up front. It makes things go smoothly from the start and the business owner will appreciate your forthrightness. The company will say yes, no or counter. My house looks amazing and that was my #1 goal. It's important to mention that I took a bit too long responding as I am a very busy guy who travels a ton. First job: great Second job: decent, but some of the plants…read moreweren't the greatest quality and had to chase around quite a lot to get them to replace. Third job: (Last fall) paid for manual pulling/removal of Bermuda grass from garden beds, plus weed control and mulch. Emphasis on manual removal - explicitly was told they would pull all the Bermuda out manually to get all the roots out. Took a bit of chasing around to get them to actually get it on the books, and then when they did come they just buzzed everything with a string trimmed and sprayed weed killer over that. We agreed to still pay the full price on the condition that Gairy would send a team out in the spring once the Bermuda woke up and inevitably came through the mulch since it wasn't removed. He agreed, and we left it at that. Flash forward to this year and has completely ghosted us and been non-responsive. Even tried asking about having a bunch of other services added so that it wouldn't be a totally free trip, but still No luck. We finally gave up on any hope of getting the promised services, hired Mr. Outdoor Living, dropped like $4K on services with them instead and will be sticking with them next year when we do a sprinkler system and stone retaining walls.
