Here's what happened: We attended a show at Gourmet Garage on Nov 19th. We showed up right when his show was starting. He asked for a volunteer. My three year old daughter very excitedly volunteered. He asked her if she liked candy. Of course she said yes. He then proceeded to tell her to grab the piece of candy out of the paper bag he was holding. This started to take a while as she was noticeably confused. He kept coaxing her and even pointed to the "piece of candy" in the bag. Turns out it wasn't candy it was a small roll of toilet paper that he was using for a bit. My daughter teared up and said out loud "I want to go home". It was so obvious that the eight and nine year olds at the show "got" this humor but it was just confusing for my little girl. We stayed because I wanted her to see that this guy was just jokingly doing tricks. I laughed a lot so she could hear me and explained what he was doing. At the end I told her to thank him for the show and ask him if she could have a balloon (he was packing up and visibly had a bag of balloons). He smiled and said thank you. He said "we're not doing balloons today"...clueless.

As a someone of Caribbean descent, it was a unique and heartwarming time. He does a great job of combining children's entertainment with elements of the Caribbean culture including music and tidbits about the islands. Firstly, he arrived on time and set up his equipment with ease. He began his service with balloon shapes which were so cute! He had an array of colors and even had heart shaped balloons. Soon after, he did some face painting. Some of it was reminiscent with the party theme which was Lilo & Stitch. Now for the big fun, he went into a magical performance filled with laughs and amazement. He kept everyone laughing as well as engaged, and the children were eager to participate. In addition, he included prompts for us to say happy birthday and take pics of the birthday girl as she assisted with his tricks. Adults also got a chance to get into the fun. Above all, he was kind and respectful. Although I did not pay for the service, my goddaughter's mom expressed that he provided a good price and value. Overall a great job! I would book his services for myself and I highly recommend to others. It's a "Yah Mon" for Island Magic!

He was funny (as accurately advertised), engaging, and good at his job! lol We hired Allen very last minute for a community talent show hosted by our church. We were grateful for his availability and quick correspondence. He arrived early for our sound check and was easy to work with. We had him on stage for 30 min then on walk around for the 30 min intermission. The stage performance was fantastic. Allen works the crowd up and gets people involved. The room shifted quickly from entertained applause to a loud "OH SNAPS"and "NOOO". I stepped outside during intermission but could hear very clearly the intermittent "OHHHHH's" as Allen performed his walk-around. Long story short - I am very thankful Allen pursued his magic side gig and I'm on the lookout for another chance to hire him.
